It's hard to believe that this level of violence would get trimmed down for an R-rating in the 80s, but, yet an 80s movie with a foul-mouthed 8-year-old kid with a penchant for the crude humor gets a PG rating (and still holds it to this day). There are even 70s and 80s movies with full-frontal nudity which have a PG rating! My how the times have changed.

One of the most violent scenes ever have been filmed! 1 little thing: this murder would be the "perfect scene" in movie history if Mr. Verhoeven had thought of the windows in the back! The bullets would be rippin' thru the body, hittin' the glass! Imagine: wind blows papers from the desks, while million pieces of silver make a cloud & ED-209 just won't stop! Would B the perfect picture at around 0:19 - 0:20 with all this. But I still give it 10 outta 10 anyway! Brilliant!

What's interesting about this video. I see worse CGI done these days with all the technology and money invested in movies than the 80s. Some of these older movies have more realistic gore than newer ones. A good example is "The Thing (1984)" vs. "The Thing (2011)" Or this movie vs. many others you see today. OK, stop motion wasn't the best but it was great if they took their time. CGI lots of times just doesn't look like it fits on the screen specially with bad compositing.

This version was very freakin gruesome,disturbing,also very serious in it's highest level, cause I've seen the "R" rated version many times even though this movie made big in the mid 80's I still loved this sci-fi classic along with "Predator",and the "Back To The Future" films cause they all underrated and worth watching on dvd or Blu-Ray,so 5 stars for Paul Verhoeven's thrilling piece of excellence on this movie,btw seen Murphy's excution cause that also gruesome and bloody.
