  • mine click too , but not this way

  • Yea mine does this also, and i have other SecurROM games crysis and warhead are the only one that make than sound. irritating. its cool u posted a vid about it

  • 8,800 gtx lol

  • Yep me too!!

But is also on the Crysis Warhead and Crysis Wars!!!!!!

  • Mine makes that clicking noise, and I'm pissed about it!

  • I have kinda the same problem, mine does make that clicking sound, although it still sounds weird, and the game won't run at all.

  • I mean "mine does NOT make that clicking sound" of course.

  • i have a difrent problem ewerithing is OK but when i start the game it starts to lag as shit

and my PC is very good

  • same problem...

  • I have the samne problem... :S

  • same*

  • I fixed it woo at long last! I updated my drive LH-20A1S from firmware 08 to 09 from the American Site (even though I'm British the EU site don't get updated) and it works no clicked OMG I'm so happy now :D. Long last, and I got 5GB ram in my comp and it runs great with 64bit windows and 1.2 patch yayay :D.

  • I just bought it today. I have the package version where I get all 3 games. The 2nd disk doesn't have this problem though. I have for a Graphics Card Nvidia GeForce 8500 series of 512 ram in my graphics card & I have 2.5 Gig of ram for my computer. What could be the problem?

  • Same issue here. I am going to see if there is a firmware update or maybe the lightscribe driver dunno. Its just really annoying. I hate DRM it seems to ruin things alot lately. When I buy a game I expect it to work without flaw.

  • Funny that Im responding to myself here but I thought I would check the liteon site again for firmware and it looks like they just put new one up there for mine drive on the 24th. After applying it the dvd comes right up like it should.

Drive: LiteOn LH-201AL new version BL06.

    Your results may very.

I guess it was a drive compatibility issue

  • i have the same problem i dont think its that bad but its anoying ass hell, i have lightscribe like these guys to but i thought mabey it was my comp 2gigs ram visiontek radeon x1650 512mb graphics card amd athlon 2.4ghz rated at 3.80 and i can play the game on medium with no lag so i realy didnt worry about it just wanted to see if anyone else had same problem

  • retard

  • I have the same dvd clicking problem with a lite-on drive, I noticed the mouse thing too but it only happens for me when it's accidentally not in full screen mode.

  • EA is full of crap. i have the same problem. what a bunch of horse crap

  • yah i am using a sony 18x DVD RW drive with a copy of crysis from evga and it has the same problem

  • im using the same dvd drive as you and have the same exact issue. crysis runs fine after the clicking thing... maybe its the dvd drive?

  • Games a Pile of Sheet!!!!!

  • Mine does exact same bit faster abotu 10 seconds of clicking, securom or ea messed up big on this, i have many other games that have scure rom protection none of them have this issue.

  • Assume this is the last word from EA support on it.

(they must think I'm running some 'PC arcade' with lots of high spec'd machines)

Now up to SecurROM to pull their dirty little finger out...

Ah well, I must just remember this next time I get a cool game demo... don't buy the cd / dvd if it includes drive eating protection

  • From EA Support

Thank you for writing back. If the issue is indeed with Securom and a conflict with the DVD-ROM's firmware, then I'm afraid there is little we can do other than wait for the appropriate update.

In the meantime, you may try installing and running the game on another system that meets the game's system requirements and see if the issue persists. This can help us to determine if the issue occurs only on a certain system.

    Thank you,

    Leonard B.

  • Mine does the same thing in my burner. When I put it in my disc drive it isnt AS bad, but it still sounds like crap.

  • I have this same exact problem! It sounds like the drive is being destroyed! My drive is a new LiteON LH-20a1L. This is the second expensive game I've purchased in three weeks that wont function properly due to SECUROM! STAY AWAY FROM ANY GAME that utilizes this NIGHTMARE! Save yourself 50.00, a lot of pain and anguish trying to make a legit copy work! Just download a copy off the net.

  • SNAP, I've got exactly the same clunking (LITEON LH-20A1H), currently in email fob offs with EA, sent log to SecuROM, they've not responded

cheers for doing a vid, will point them to this

  • thats really strange, im not having that problem, not a scratch, and ive been playing it for 2 weeks now, no clicking

  • Wolfy2929 look on the EA Crysis forum lots of people are having the same issue it's because EA fooked it up big time..ask people online when you play the game they have the same issue!

  • its either the disc or dvd drive. take it back to the store.

  • Thanks for the informational video, very useful. I *wont* be buying crysis if it does that. It'll wear the drive out more quickly. I blame SecuROM.
