@44boman Because my car started prematurely shitfting into 2nd or 3rd froma a stop and it would turn off for no reason while I was driving. ZZ Performance uses their stock coil pack and wires on high horsepower builds for the GP's.

i replace my supercharger oil every time i take it out of hibernation.(got to love Canadian winters) and ive done many mods to my exhaust to eliminate that tinny sound. best combo for me was 2.25'' pipe all round except for a 20'' segment of pipe that measures 2.5"" with magnaflow mufflers. people think ive got a v8 under the hood and cops dont bug me anymore. i tried the 2.5" no res but it sounded very tinny at higher rpms.

I think that just taking the resonator off is good enough if you want a good sound. All the gtps ive heard that had after market exhaust, sounds shitty, in some cases like rice.

@ssteg1 you've got a 3.4 pulley on a car with one flow mod??? and one unessecary flow mod (Exhaust)... all i can hear in your future is TICK TICK TI-BOOM!! get that fucker off of there if you dont want to be replacing an engine.. all youre doing is creating heat if the air has no where to go. you need at least a CAI, P-Log, 3 inch DP, and u bend delete before even THINKING about a pulley drop. not to mention a aftermarket PCM

No, a stock Grand Prix without any mods would not sound like that. It would be much quieter, and the exhaust would not have that slightly raspy sound. His removal of the resonator is mostly what changed the sound. And no, a GT would not sound much different.

I got a 1996 Bonneville SSEI and I was thinking about putting the MSD coil packs on my car. I have the serise 2 3800 supercharged like yours. Did you get a check engine light with those coil packs?. and did you notice any difference in power?

I got Volant powercore, powercore is virtually water proof with less air restriction any K&N or other brand filter. But ya i am monitoring the wear of the filter just for that reason.

if you ask me, they do nothing, and the packs are deff. not worth $150, its all in your head if you feel anything, bigger wires may help with the addition of autolite104's or other cold plugs, but the packs pretty much just look cool.

well first off, you need to buy 3 coil packs since there are 2 plugs per coil. go to summit racing and they have them there.

Nice car man. I just put mine back on the road. 2000 GTP daytona 500 pace car. I bought the car new. I stored it back in 04 in a heated garage. Now she's got 30k on her. The car is like a new car. I'd sell her but I know I wouldn't get what I really want for her. I ran 13.6@104mph 1.97-60'. The cars pretty much stock with a host of suspension+engine bolt ons.

The engine, heads,transmission are stock. The supercharger has been ported. The exhaust,intake,computer,inject­ors are not stock. When someone says the cars STOCK! That means the original engine hasn't been dissasembled and upgraded internally. Yes My Car Is Stock. I have installed a small bunch of bolt ons to tweak the car. Its otherwise STOCK!

K&N-CAI (there is one for the 3.8L), MSD ignition, wires, iridium plugs, high flow cat converter ( I recommend the brand called random technology with delete-ubend ), AGX adjustable struts...swaybars front and rear. If there is still money...I would go for the BEAR high performance 12" brake kid. Some HID or PIAA driving lights on the fog lamp holes...and you will have an even nicer daily driver! don't forget the tires! You need good shoes. Cheers!

I just had my local shop replace my u-bend and resonator with a straight pipe a month ago. It cost about $50. 20 for pipe, 4 for o2 bung, and 25 labor.

Its a cheap upgrade but its not really an upgrade. If you want more hp, just go to a catback. I bought my borla catback in 2000 for 600$new. Now they sell for almost 1100$. I'm not sayin their the best. However the borla came with a resonator and my car sounds hairy. Thats not the only exhaust mods. I'm just saying its not worth trying to mod an OEM exhaust

I use Premium/Supreme. It is "required" in these cars, otherwise you will lose horsepower and the engine will start knocking.

It won't start knocking as the computer will know what gas it has and make the proper timing adjustments. You'll just lose performance. I put the mid stuff in mine as I don't drive it hard.

yea the wires made mine alot more response, an the mid-range power is great. I installed the coils on my car a few months back, but i ended up breaking one of my plugs in half 15mins after the install, so i took them back. Didnt really have a chance to see the difference.

They do, i installed the MSD wires on my grand am gt and felt nothing, THEN! i added the coil packs and HOLY SHIT! GReat accelration!! and W/ the cold air intake and High performance muffler the results are amazing!
