@fuzzypyro58 I made the mistake of going that high with my lancer evo. when it rains or it is winter, the blue/purple reflects on all the water or snow, and it makes it harder to see. Looks cool though. If I did it again i would have bought a 5-6k pair.

Correct, these bulbs are dangerous if you do not know what you're doing (like these guys). You can do it without projector lenses, but it involves taking the headlight housings apart and painting different parts of the reflectors so that light doesn't get bounced everywhere as well as knowing how to aim the damn things (yes, any hid bulb will need to be aimed after installation. you cannot use the same aim as the halogens.) Be smart and stop blinding other people!

@callumcy there in all the later model cars that have HID. instead of being a noraml reflector like normal light they are small and round. they have a "cut off" that focuses the light down on the road instead of in everyones eyes. look up HID projecor lenses

1. The blue/purple color associated with HID lights is actually not caused by the temperature of the bulb.
2. There is a reason OEM HID systems all use a 4300k or 4300k variation.
Why?
This is simple. The higher the temperature of the bulb, the less light output..Explanation: As the temperature rises the colors being emitted become further away from that of the colors of the sunlight. As this happens you can see less and less of the colors with the naked eye.

so i have 6K in my car, and it doesnt seem to flow nearly as far or as wide then on your car. i saw a car yesterday and the pavement was lighted so much farther and wider then mine. they look a little bluer then mine. do the 8K brighter then the 6K? i just want my lights to just over power the road. .... any comments?

Why do people hate HID's sp much? I know someone with I think a 10,000k setup and it looks great on their tacoma. And whenever you see a car on the road it's about 5 seconds of looking at the oncoming car then its gone. I think HID's look great on cars. I don't see why people hate them as much as they do.

@SenorDennis We don't hate the lights we hate the people who install them with no regard to aim them down properly SUV's are already high off the ground.. and idiots raise them higher further pushing their lights max lighting to face instead of road level... it is a dick head thing to do our vision takes time to re-adjust in dark environments... have you ever tried seeing at night going from a super bright room to pitch black... that is what these lights do to the oncoming cars at night!

It's a slim bulb type that uses a ballast, which is a little metal box the bulbs plug into. The bulb is filled with a Xenon gas mixture that turns a bright white/blue/purple depending on the temperature rating. These guys have them in standard halogen headlights, no fluid of any kind is used.

THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT LIGHT
1. The blue/purple color associated with HID lights is actually not caused by the temperature of the bulb.
2. There is a reason OEM HID systems all use a 4300k or 4300k variation.
Why?
This is simple. The higher the temperature of the bulb, the less light output..Explanation: As the temperature rises the colors being emitted become further away from that of the colors of the sunlight. As this happens you can see less and less of the colors with the naked eye.

so i have 6K in my car, and it doesnt seem to flow nearly as far or as wide then on your car. i saw a car yesterday and the pavement was lighted so much farther and wider then mine. they look a little bluer then mine. do the 8K brighter then the 6K? i just want my lights to just over power the road. .... any comments?

thats really bad for the bulbs to flash on and off. the bulbs need to go through there 3-4 minute cycle because the xenon gases arent heating up and it could weaken the bulbs. aka burn them our

@dbz4life123 Well i have heard i needed a relay so i ordered one from the guy i bought the kit from(ebay lol) and he sent me the wiring harness that i already had. But im also guessing its somewhat because its winter here so they take longer to warm up, and recently it hasnt done the shorting out thing, it just flickers once after they warm up and there good to go, any ideas where i can get an H4 relay harness for HIDs?

@Preludepower90 Has nothing to do with winter or summer my dude its all about the quality of the electronic, ant Relay harness will do just get one with a Fuse relay, I run Slim Anti-Flicker Ballast's with Relay and capacitor & has never Even thought about flickering once.
