I really liked Macross plus, mainly the fourth episode of the ova because it just seemed epic.

One pilot and scientist flying against an entire grid of orbital defense laser satellites to beat an evil machine mind controlling a planet with music and based in a super fortress. He also has to save his childhood friend and love interest, held by the evil machine(which is female oddly enough).

I just finished watching this series today. I am surprised the anime art style is way better than todays. The art detail is amazing! The music on this series beats today's music by far!

@1HeatWalk From what I understand, to animate the four Macross Plus episodes took as much time and money as a 26 episode series; or close enough anyway.

Animators would love to make series at that level all the time, but it's just too expensive and time-consuming.

But yes, Macross Plus is one of the best looking series I've seen. Might want to check out Macross Frontier too. Not as good looking, per episode, but still better than almost any other 25 episode series.

There's two versions of Macross Plus. The movie and OVA. They both have different scenes in them. I highly recommended the movie version for the Man vs Machine (Guld vs the Ghost prototype), is truly one of the best scene that is extended in the movie. You really feel what he's doing and how some one truly gives it all they got. I love Robotech because it introduce Macross to me. I love them all. Thanks Carl Macek for having the guts to be one of the first to Westernize Animes to reach us. RIP

@ralph262 Guld Goa Bowman was kinda pathetic and no where near the hero of the story. His mind was so weak it could not accept the horrible thing he had done to his best friends that he had to imagine it being Isamu that committed the act. Several times in the anime he attempted to kill Isamu and failed. In the end Guld had to suicide to beat the phantom fighter while Isamu took on Macross itself, which is a huge battle station. I know every one has a right to an opinion, but yours is shit sir.

That's a matter of opinion. I don(t like Kanno's Turn A Gundam music, nor do I like Cowboy Bebop. Frontier is kinda a meh series (better than Code Geass but that's not saying much) compared to the other series imo.
