  • This meditation was as if it was sent from above. Namo Buddhaya!

  • If it wasn't for this chant and meditation I don't know how I would of dealt with my suffering.

  • brings up memory's

  • thank you Thich Nhat Hanh , you heal me everyday !

  • I've never cried for a song before.

  • Thank you for posting this video. It is awesome. My heart feels full of love after listing to it just once. Blessings!

  • Beautiful

  • This monk is musically gifted....

  • I have a chance to be born Buddhist. I used to live in Hue and I know the pagoda that Thay used to live. I listen to this many times.

Love and Peace for the world

  • Listening to the bell I feel the afflictions in me begin to dissolve

My mind calm, my body relaxed

A smile is born on my lips

Following the sound of the bell, my breath brings me back to the safe island of mindfulness

In the garden of my heart, the flowers of peace bloom beautifully.

  • The universal dharma door is already open

The sound of the rising tide is heard clearly

    The miracle happens

A beautiful child appears in the heart of the lotus flower

One single drop of this compassionate water is enough to bring back the refreshing spring to our mountains and rivers.

  • May the sound of this bell penetrate deep into the cosmos

Even in the darkest spots living beings are able to hear it clearly

So that all suffering in them ceases, understanding comes to their heart

And they transcend the path of sorrow and death.

  • @cbdousek Thank you so much !!

  • “The End of Suffering,” featuring the spoken word of Thich Nhat Hanh, the singing voice of Vietnamese monk, Phap Niem, and music by Gary Malkin, is excerpted from the book and CD set, "Graceful Passages: A Companion For Living and Dying," which was produced by Gary Malkin and Michael Stillwater, for Wisdom of the World.

  • @cbdousek Thank you for this useful information.... Peace and Light to you :)

  • Thank you .... absolutely beautiful ... vibrates right through me :)

  • Thank you , respected Thay.

  • Very peaceful. I feel calm and at ease now.

  • awosome!!!

  • most beautiful song/poem I've ever heard. When I listen to this I always envision love and peace for this world.

  • totally beautiful <3

  • "Through my love for you, I want to express my love for the whole cosmos, the whole of humanity, and all beings. By living with you, I want to learn to love everyone and all species. If I succeed in loving you, I will be able to love everyone and all species on Earth... This is the real message of love."

    — Thich Nhat Hanh (Teachings on Love)

  • Beautiful music...the mumbling monk ruins it though

  • Can anyone provide a translation of the beautiful chanting?

  • Amazing! Yet, until a few months ago it would have sounded like spiritual Gobble-de-Gook to me.

  • Heartbreakingly beautiful. Exquisite. I cry everytime I listen to it.

  • BEAUTIFUL!

  • Why is this is so powerful? Every time I listen to it, I am moved to tears, almost immediately, but not because I am sad. It's it's some overwhelming emotion that transcends regular emotion and frees it, and the tears are of relief. It works every single time.

  • @TommyFilth1

I have the same feeling with you.

  • Comment removed

  • @TommyFilth1 I know what you mean.... can't translate the real beauty into words....

  • @TommyFilth1 you become overwhelmed because the vibration of this piece is so high and pure. I would guess it resonates with the heart chakra frequenzy. Namaste

  • If this does not reach you down to the cellular level, you're made of stone.

  • I could listen to this 24/7

  • Stirs the soul deeply. Thank you

  • I have literally never listened to a song, until now, that still gives me goosebumps after watching it for the 20th time

  • Sending this out to friends on facebook who are mourning the loss of a loved one...

May he hold you up in his gentle hands and surround with his gentle light and help you in this trying time... Remember it is only a transition... and you will be joined again...

  • excellent!!!!!. wanting more song like this, Thay is a great man!

  • awesome!

  • Thank you, thank you, thank you, for posting this - this helps me sooo much with my daily meditations of beingness. On the "Graceful Passages" album Jyoti is on there, too - the walk home - and this is just as beautiful.

  • When people speak about peace, mindfulness, and compassion; scare those who profit somehow from war, so those who profit from the suffering of others, speak hatefully against those who seek peace. Thich Nhat Hanh speaks about peace, preaches about peace. He is a great man!

  • thank you for this beautiful video ..may you

always be happy ..much love irene

  • if you come into contact with Thay in person then things would look very different. besides your information is not accurate, he did not turn a blind eye, he left the monastic life to help the people yet refused to take sides with either oposing political group. because of his ambiguous position he was suspected by either group of being allied with the other.

exiled from his homeland ever since he has led a life dedicated entirely to the service of humanity.

  • Thank you so much

    you too

    Minh Thao

  • I sometimes wonder how people like this, Eckhart, Wayne Dyer can get so much recognition with such little value. People will probably hate on this but I was 14 with higher consciousness... then the American school system got me addicted to drugs..there are many people out there with so much more to offer. but I must say, favorite nich video yet, the music is peaceful and promotes well being... as far as ending suffering I think he better go back to humanity. those who suffer need more than bell

  • @TheiGODProject " The American school system got me addicted to drugs"???? People like you who refuse to own their behaviour will always be a loser. You got addicted to drugs because of lazy parenting and lack of discipline and/or morals on your part. Nobody who hasn't physically forced you to take drugs can "get" you addicted. I am genuinely sick of lazy wastes of space like you. I hope you will find a very quick end to your suffering and leave us to enjoy this life.

  • @neoperseus If you believe this you obviously have no idea about the truth of the world. And buddy, Yes, the CIA and American government have a campaign to get as many people addicted to drugs in as many forms as possible.. I fight to stop this. Your sad ego and "Genuine Happiness" shines through hard in your comment. You sad blind ignorance is what is going to keep the masses from allowing us to ascend. B 4 the US occupation of Afghanistan the country drug export as hash to Europe.

  • @TheiGODProject

I didnt know the Americans (or western countries generally) needed drugs to control people. After all they have TV, radio, cinema, music all different methods to keep people in 'control.' America and the UK in particular want to say that we should live in fear of terrorism and try to keep us 'safe.' When in actual fact its an excuse to degrade and take away our human rights. The people we should really fear are people within OUR society.

  • @applecore oh yeah... there is a great expansion beyond this level of mind control and manipulation with fear and terrorism. Though I guess I cannot say too much..it has been 6 years since I have been in America. And It has been 3 years I have been doing Monk work studying ancient lumerian temples. So much light and so much darkness in the world. Waking people up to the choice of choosing light will break away old fears and suffering. Once the choice is made. But one must choose with intent

  • @neo After the US occupation Afghanistan became one of the three largest exporters of opium and Heroin on the planet. Too dangerous there.. how many military stations there are in Columbia? Which sends drugs 2 Mexico or in CIA jets 2 US and has become the largest heroin exporter in the world. I have just accepted the sad fact is most people are egotistical, self centered, and arrogant. Yet you come here to listen to and end of suffering lecture. I came to give advice to people who may b suffer

  • @neoperseus do your homework buddy, you attract what you want into your life the minute you realize your living. In your own anger you have become as conscious as a dead rat. And for your information... they are convincing parents to it is in the best for their child they take a stimulant similar to cocaine called Adderall. to kinds under 12 years old... it's an addictive drug and sets the child up to be more receptacle to addiction later n Life. u should watch my teaching, mayB u can grow up

  • Hay quá! đẹp quá . Phật tử Việt Nam chúng con ước gì mãi mãi bên cạnh thiền sư

Mong sao Thiền sư và Tăng đoàn mãi mãi có mặt ở Việt Nam

  • ...tears runed down from my eyes, right and left, ...

it is such a wonderfull a teaching...

  • I love the words of Thich Nhat Hahn: "May the sound of the bell penetrate deep into the cosmos. Even in the darkest spots living beings are able to hear it clearly. So that all suffering in them cease. Understanding comes to their heart, and they transcend the path of sorrow and death." These are my thoughts for the Palestinians in Gaza, the people in the Gulf of Mexico, the families of the 11 who died, all marine animals, seabirds, the earth who suffer in the Gulf & everywhere.

  • Hay qua! Đẹp quá! Hạnh phúc thay nếu ai được sống bên cạnh THIỀN SƯ!

Xin cho Việt Nam chúng con được hưởng những hạnh phúc ấy!

  • WOW! what an interesting editorial an a simple gentle spirit whose whole life has been in the pursuit of peace. Peace is such an alien ideal in this world today.

  • Bonjour mes amis,

  • @1macboo

    Thank you so much

Now I live in France and I miss so much My country, pogodas and buddhist monks' teaching. I lived in Hue, just beside Thien Mu pogoda and I listened every morning the sound of bell, it was so peaceful. I feeled very happy and enjoyed my life even we were very poor materially in Vietnam. Now, even I am old but I continu to study and I feel also very happy.

    Love and Peace from VietFrance

  • @thiminhthao Peace to you and many blessings..

  • It would be nice if we could simply hear the words without the added music. When I want to listen to music, I listen to music. When I want to hear Thich Nhat Hanh, I want to simply hear him. His words do not need background music to make them real or significant.

  • wonderful post - thank you...

  • Fantastic

  • @tim666661 What someone may or may not have done doesn't matter, if they're speaking truth, they're speaking truth

  • @tim666661 actually, he is persecuted by the government. I think you may be mistaken

  • This song is also on a album titled: Namaste' check it out on iTunes or your local record shop.

  • This song comes from a wonderful album called ´Graceful Passages `featuring a collection of various spiritual teacher from several religions, talking and giving advice to the dying. ( that´s you some day ) ! You can get it on Itunes and amazon. I recently lost a good friend and played the first track at his funeral. This piece awakens any one who can hear what it says.

  • ah yeah that's the album that my friend who gave it to me said he got it from. Thanks jmorrell

  • @jmorrell22 I like the album too.. Hope u r healing!

  • Whatever joy there is in this world

All comes from desiring others to be happy,

And whatever suffering there is in this world,

All comes from desiring myself to be happy.

    Shantideva

  • @TheIxtlan thats beautiful

  • wauw

  • awsome

  • Just practice mindfulness its not that hard. I read practice mindfulness. When you are sitting, be aware you are sitting, and when your are standing be aware of you are standing. If you are suffering, be aware you are suffering, If you are feeling good, be aware you are feeling good. If you your mind is not peaceful, just be aware your mind is not peaceful, if your mind is peaceful, be aware your mind is peace. Just practice mindfulness or being aware.

  • rather no-mind is the key, destroying thought at all time. in the understanding of this, we fall from ego, personality and much preference.the mind is like a caged animal, always circling, thinking only on here and now, no mind is realizing the spirit, or awareness is always at peace, in the now.

  • please dont love this man, love helping others, to achieve there potencial. out of poverty, leads to a better life. oppression will always be with the world, but you dont have to be a oppresssor...think for ;yourself............

  • in helping others, we show our gratitude. love thy neighbour as yourself.

  • @sunnoisamazing Buddha is not dead he is beyond life and death. Both dead and alive at the same time.

  • the dead know nothing. once you die, you become as asleep. the great ing david has not yet risin to heavan, noone has, that is what the second coming of Christ is about, when the dead shall be raised from the grave. but i know what you mean.

  • This is from the cd ´graceful passages` a beautiful collection of commentaries on dying.

  • Reading my comments from 5 months ago serves to remind me, both of the suffering that I felt at that time, and, more importantly, of the love that exists in my life, both from others, and in my own heart. I am most touched by the affection of those that have shared their hope with me. My life is nothing without others to share it with. Thank you!

  • Thank you, Simon. my life is so much brighter, and I will not forget the words of people like you. Whenever clouds might return, i shall try to focus on the sun that lies behind them, knowing it will again shine on me...

  • @stephen53847 I'm so happy it helped you too...Thich Nhat and so many others have great wisdom....such peace...

  • @stephen53847 all you have to do is make them into your own words by practicing mindfulness. You'll see that your capacity to love and be happy was always there as it is there now. You can find your true happiness only in the present moment... All you have to do is Be. Be who you truly are, not the conditioned and conceptual you but the true essence of who you are.

  • @vicwon95 thank you for your words and time. x
