used Ziana for 4 months and through 3 months i was told to use it once a day. then the 4th month the derm told me to apply it morning and night. so i did it morning and night for about 2 weeks, then i had a sort of minor cystic breakout on my cheek and the Ziana somehow completely blew up this spot to the size of a quarter! It was raw skin and rash like! i went to the derm after 2 days of skipping school because of it. they took me off of Ziana now! im starting accutane, hopefully it works!
did you read the inside pamphlet? it says that your skin might get worsen after 2-3 weeks. anyway is true that the idea of ziana (trentinoin/retin A) is to make your skin peel off, so that the dead skin cell can be cleared up and not clogging your skin.
dryness, flaking, peeling off is normal reaction of retin A. Try to put less amount. use your moisturizer then ziana over it, make sure its a daily moisturizer not night cream cos night cream has a small amount of skin resurfacing agent
OK well I dont want to sound hateful but I have news for you. the WHOLE POINT of Ziana is to make your skin peel. It has Retin A in it to resurface your skin. That is the entire point of this product. That's also why its so expensive. Your dermatologist did not do a good job of educating you and neither did your pharmacist. Also, you should have read the package insert that would have told you that will happen.
Thanks and I hope it does too. I took a shower and this time it didn't burn as bad and my face looked almost normale. I think it may just take some time to heal . If the stinging and burning along with the pealing would stop I would be back to the reson I want to the dr in the first place lol

Ziana is SUPPOSED to do that to your skin. My skin look terrible the first 4 weeks and now I barely have any pimples.
