It may be argued that I'm looking too far into this, but clearly someone else did when they looked at the original and decided a classic cartoon scene needed to be literally butchered up and slapped back together with insignificant changes that actually take from it, rather than add in any regard.
Good job, whoever's responsible. You've ruined my childhood memories forever and I'll never sleep without crying myself there ever again. You FOOLLLLS.
Why cut out the scenes they cut? They weren't inappropriate. The scene of the two hephalumps dancing in honey wasn't offensive. The ominous elements weren't scary - I can say so with absolute assurance because I was a naive, God-fearing Christian boy of about the ages 6 - 8 when I watched this, and nothing ever appeared unpleasant in the slightest to me.
The original score is changed why again? The new one is too flute-y, too rinky-dinky and less ominous and psychedelic as the original. And the scenes are all cut up, thereby losing clip continuity and timing with the song - it seems jumpy and far less fluid than the original now.

So: this is garbage.

What is it with Disney and attempting to scar kids for life?
I mean, I surprisingly was spared for... I'm guessing sixteen years, until I saw this part recently.
And for some reason, he just LOVED using elephants to fuck with our minds...
