  • Interesting video once again AA! I have to say I learned some new things after watching this again.

  • Wow.......Awesome man.......!! Truly amazing work....how do u decide timing while animating such snapy actions...?

  • Awesome

  • What do you think about the shape falloff of Flash vs Illustrator,

From my point of view Flash draw is easier to handle while the Illustrator have a much smooth shapes and falloff or maybe I'm wrong.

  • Wow, awesome tutorial! congrats!

Just one question: how do you let the next layer opaque? And this brush? how you got it? : ) Thnx a lot!

  • have one more question for you, sorry its just im a first time buyer and dont want to screw up. now the blank pads, the ones where you have to look on the computer to see what your drawing, is it hard to see where to place the pen next when u pick up ur pen from the tablet, do u guess where to place the pen n hope its in the right place, or does the tablet detect the pens place before it hits the tablet? just very confused and dont want to get stuck with a bad buy!

  • got a question for you. for one, what tablet do you use and how much is it, and does it display the picture on the tablet as well. and if by chance its over 300 dollars, and or doesnt display the picture on the tablet then can u suggest a tablet that does display the picture on the tablet and is cheap, 400 would be ok as well! thanks again man, o and nice animation for such a short video!

  • @IMPOSSIBRU

I mention the tablet at the start of the video its a a4 size wacom Intuous. I am not sure how much it retails at nowa days I got mine a good 5 years ago and for over 300 UK pounds meaning many more US dollars. I dont like the cintique that is where you can draw straight on the screen or tablet as you say - though these type of tablets are becoming the industry standard.

I recommend the Wacom Bamboo fun it is cheap and adequate enough to do what I do above.

  • You are a fabulous artist. I think using software is always a challenge.

  • you use flash right? how do you get it to let you make such gestural marks without it correcting you? Your videos rock thanks for sharing! :D

  • @LivLivJM

There are many ways you can work..There is a pressure sensitivity option in Flash but it is still strong as flash is vector based. I also work in a pale pink or light grey color when i am roughing then black line on top...I chose blue for roughing in the video so people could see clearly but when you black on top any thing looks softer! Hope that helps and thanks for watching :) .

Indeed I have! very atmospheric and stirring! keep up the good work! I am impressed by your ambition!

  • @eubasaban

Thank you, I've been working like crazy on it the past half year. Maybe I bit off a bit more than I can chew with it, because its going to be a 30 minute film when its done, but thank you for the encouragement its always helpfull.

  • Arshad! wow, this is a really pleasent suprise to find on youtube!! awesome awesome vid - it just makes me want to animate in 2D!! very very inspirational, and great to see you start to add a voice-over which really helped in some really clarifying parts. I'm definate I will come back to this time and time again to be re-inspired, great stuff again and thank YOU for taking the time to post really helpful stuff man :) Will be posting this around animation buddies very soon! :D

  • @clym3danimator

Ahhh! The Clymster! Hey this is where we first met! I'm glad that my ramblings are still helpful to you my friend! Yeah I wasn't sure about doing the voice over but I got so many requests to do it so I thought it the right thing to do! Hey you know when I've finished a job because I'm back on youtube! I'm just grateful that there are people such as you giving me their time watching - Thank you!

  • Arshad! hello!

Great vlog/ tutorial. It really does help alot more when you explain the choices and details. Great work, sir. If I were a young aspiring artist this would be like a blessing.

  • @6castor6

Hey Castor! Thanks for your endorsement friend! Like you I wanted to do something different with my youtube page and it seemed only fair to respond to my subscribers requests as they are what keeps our channels alive! By the way I really loved your little teaser trailer Bruce would win it with his eyes closed ;) I'm annoyed at this new youtube layout as I can no longer give you the 5 stars you thoroughly deserve!

  • @eubasaban

"they are what keeps our channels alive!" Very true.

"Bruce would win it with his eyes closed" Again, very true. That's true for any movie fighter past & present, to be honest.

I really can't stand these new "improvements" to the site either. it seems everytime they try to upgrade the site (with the exception of the players) it always seem like a downgrade, idk. Oh boy, and vidders are losing their channels like mad. Gettin' pretty scary around here.

  • It's such a joy to see you drawing again, Arshad. Lovely stuff.

  • @odylih

Many thanks friend! Likewise I very much enjoyed your little short! Had a sweet retro feel to it and was very much true to your definitive trademark style!
