Their are plenty of arguments to make from the ontological argument, prime mover argument, natural design argument, so on and so on. YOU DON'T HAVE A REASONING PROBLEM YOU HAVE A FAITH PROBLEM. I feel the spirit alot friend. If i don't pray or read the bible it goes away when i pray and read the bible it comes along. Fasting and giving in the name of God gets me in some strong trances. When I am in the spirit it is trully a differen state of consciousness

Christianity wasn't a mainstream Faith. Even in Europe they were branded "heretics" by the Latino-Greek pagans of Constantinople or Rome, and loathed by Egyptian cultists from Africa to Asia to Europe.

To enter into the kingdom of God all you must believe is that Jesus is the son of God, you are a sinner, and believe he paid your sin debt with is sacrifical death. That's it. Once you do that you can not lose your salvation ever! People become angry at God because they think they have to do more than that to save their soul. Believe and live. Call on the name of the Lord and live forever.

Rationality can be used to prove two diametrically opposite points. Rationality is for court jestures and acedemics. Once you are conviced of something there is a tailor made rational for it.

@darrylsloan The real root of reason is intuition. Most renown philosophers have discovered this. Hume decimated certain knowledge via reason with the problem of induction. Nietzche hooted at the concept of logic as clever sematics. All knowlegde is really faith based.  Utility plays a large role in how we rationalize. If we have a purpose for somethinge we employ elaborate and layered justifications for it regardless of its true validity.

Yes Darryl, it is a positive thing trying to cure people of insane religious beliefs, but I don't think science holds all the answers either. It's good at what it does, but it just doesn't do enough. Watching some scientific documentaries makes me cringe with embarrassment at some of the "logic" they put forward. Almost as much as some of the laughable religious beliefs I hear of.

I think being spiritual is very important. And philosophy is light years ahead of science in many ways.
