If there were genuine, limited democracy in Hong Kong, where citizens can vote for a governor, and UK allowed to keep a governor for a long time, I have no doubt most of them would vote for Chris Patten (彭定康), as he was the people's governor of Hong Kong. He was down-to-earth and jovial, despite some obstacles that left some of his works unfinished, if not all. Seriously, he can run for prime minister in the next general election in UK, like around 2014 or 2015.
