This dude is so freakin' good. Sometimes, it's just awesome just listenning to the music without hearing the lyrics and this dude prooves just that...
@sussexpenguin mm, it is a shame someone who comment and is being critic (something I like though) didn't take the time to check the user's channel to discover that the guy behind the synths has released an EP with their own tunes months ago.
Well done!!! Sounds are accurate, even though not all notations are correct ;-) You actually play it more Gordeno Style than Wilder's. By the way, which base have you played on? I've never heard it before...

Thank GOD for youtube and YOU! I can tell you've spent a lot of time with your skills and set up, it sounds amazing, I LOVE DM, but not their unwillingness to let their too many of their songs out in the Karaoke world. Awesome job!
man i wish i knew the notes to the song. I bought "the best of depeche mode" piano book, and i was disappointed that it didnt have this song. it had "only when I lose myself", but not this??
@AfroPunkprincess I am a musician and this guy is okay, but he is no Martin Gore! Good try...Not even close to Martin L. Gore...Sorry dear Martin is the man :)
you should bring your own album out I'd listen to it no problem i like all your covers what i've seen so far good work keep it up more pet shop boy please???? thanks
''Everything Counts'' and ''Policy of Truth'' are two of my favourites DM songs and let me tell you that, the way you play them is trully AMAZING. Have you ever played ''Things you Said'' ? I thing you should try it, I don't have any doubt you would play it excellent . Congratulations DX5 and keep rocking !!!
All these renderings are very interesting as far as pedagogy goes. I would have loved to see something like this when I first tried to approach synths 20 years ago.
look people, this gentleman probably is in a band already and is making money from this, why would he have all this equipment not to make money from it, he is in my oppignion a very talented person, so for anyone to comment stupid comments reflects stupidity from whom ever does so!!!!! think before you write something!!!!??? and M8 you are talented, BravoooOOOOO
for the love of music, it doesn't really matter if there are those not satisfied by the way you cover DM songs, you are great, and there's talent there... you can't please everyone, but you can made a difference with the rest who hear you play as solid as this... kudos...
Don't spend money. Nowadays you can have extremely vintage like sounds on your computer (under Mac, Windows .... and recently very efficient Linux version). You will be able to emulate hundreds old sounds and create an infinity of new ones.
So just get a master keyboard (Edirol, M-Audio, ...) or a Midi interface if you already have an old synth, plug it in your laptop .... and just go !!!
@samtohginleon Why is it sad? Its great fun replicating songs, you learn a lot as to what makes a song tick and how to get certain sounds and I think othr people appreciate your efforts more. How many bands out there do covers or Hollywood remakes have there been?
@samtohginleon Covering another artist's programming teaches you things about interesting percussive arrangements, basslines, secondary rhythmic elements, lead lines, chord changes, etc that you can later apply to brand new music. These skills are sorely needed by the current batch of teenage remixers and DJ's. We live in a point and click world that produces lots of mediocrity.
Me dan risa toda esta gente que viene y dice que estan mal las notas pero no ponen ellos un video o algo, Dx5 hermano depechero, sigue el buen trabajo :)
hey... I think its not the aim to copy DM sounds 1 to 1, it would be easy to sample everything... it's all about playing it live, having fun and to realize how wonderful those old, "multi layered" synthpop tracks were arranged!!
@rooter639 : Also, what is the point about not sampling anything? I am not into a contest. I just enjoy playing those tracks, as much as I barely have time to do them.
the only part that sounds right is the metallic transpose at the beginning which you obviously sampled. try to get the sounds yourself. its so much more fun. you can recreate this sound on a jd800 if you have the time and patience. with respect. this is constructive critisism.
