  • Wow!!!

  • Sing along the grabling hands ).Try Vangelis you sound like you could play his music.

  • @joebstarsurfer It's "The grabbing hands grab all they can"... not "grabling hands"

Do you write any of your own stuff?

  • Comment removed

  • @sussexpenguin mm, it is a shame someone who comment and is being critic (something I like though) didn't take the time to check the user's channel to discover that the guy behind the synths has released an EP with their own tunes months ago.

    Thanks for watching and comment!

  • Gosh, now I'm supposed to prepare for my exam. But how can I stop listening to THIS?

  • This is really great! Could you tell me something about those samples, like where do you get them?

i was experimenting with software synths that emulate old analog synths, but i still can't get any good sound like yours. lol

so maybe i should try sampling instead? or try harder on the synths? lol

    thanks for the vid!

  • Congratulations crack!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Thank GOD for youtube and YOU! I can tell you've spent a lot of time with your skills and set up, it sounds amazing, I LOVE DM, but not their unwillingness to let their too many of their songs out in the Karaoke world. Awesome job!

  • wow how cool..you are super talented ..awesome job ! ill sub x

  • Thanks to you, I hope to give the urge to play the synthesizer to my little boy 5 years.

    From Paris ;)

  • It isn't that easy to recreate Depeche Mode songs like this which use many samples, but I think you did great work here.

  • COOL! Like it!

  • man i wish i knew the notes to the song. I bought "the best of depeche mode" piano book, and i was disappointed that it didnt have this song. it had "only when I lose myself", but not this??

  • Excellent cover!

  • soo close to the original once again

  • Yet another good one.

    =3

    keep up the beautiful work.

    <3

  • @AfroPunkprincess I am a musician and this guy is okay, but he is no Martin Gore! Good try...Not even close to Martin L. Gore...Sorry dear Martin is the man :)

  • @iediah I thought he was great, honestly.=3

  • you forgot the words

  • Loved it. I'd love to see you do another one of Depeche Modes earlier tunes "Leave in Silence" or, "See You".

  • ''Everything Counts'' and ''Policy of Truth'' are two of my favourites DM songs and let me tell you that, the way you play them is trully AMAZING. Have you ever played ''Things you Said'' ? I thing you should try it, I don't have any doubt you would play it excellent . Congratulations DX5 and keep rocking !!!

  • Super der Hammer , einfach nur TOP

  • Well done, my friend!

  • Have you done "Here is the House?"

  • Hey

Ive soon DM Live, not bad cover, good arrangement, just enjoy, the covers are a good way learn, i use them as practice.

    Yamaha EX5

    AKAI S2000 & S2800

    Roland U220

  • its good, i like it mate! keep it up..

  • beautiful cover!!!!!!!!!!

  • moyen encore , cette reprise

  • I like it!

  • the theme from refrain is .. hm uncorrect. a little bit.

  • Good job, must be fun playing these covers. Doesnt matter if they are your own samples or not. Why make ya own if they are already there.

I'm trying to get a DX7 II FD at the moment. Then i can learn em lol.

  • Very nice version, I really like when you make the backing tracks like this, powerful sound so weel produced.

    Saludos de nuevo!

  • NO PUEDES TOCAR LA DE something to do -depeche mode ??

  • can you post "Just can't get enough" with a tutorial?

  • Can you post Just can't get enough, with a tutorial?

    thanks.

  • Oh gosh this is cool too! Please tell me you've played Pet Shop Boys :)

  • @UptownGirl27 I have played it :) Chek on my video list for "Domino Dancing"

  • @DX5 Big fan of yours please do West End Girls and What have i done to desserve this :)

  • The PC1x sound is sooo simply beautiful.

    Thanks a lot!

  • All these renderings are very interesting as far as pedagogy goes. I would have loved to see something like this when I first tried to approach synths 20 years ago.

  • look people, this gentleman probably is in a band already and is making money from this, why would he have all this equipment not to make money from it, he is in my oppignion a very talented person, so for anyone to comment stupid comments reflects stupidity from whom ever does so!!!!! think before you write something!!!!??? and M8 you are talented, BravoooOOOOO

  • for the love of music, it doesn't really matter if there are those not satisfied by the way you cover DM songs, you are great, and there's talent there... you can't please everyone, but you can made a difference with the rest who hear you play as solid as this... kudos...

  • Nice Work!

  • I like it very much ! =)

  • Fantastic

  • Good job, ignore the jealous comments. Not everyone can do it the way U do it. Keep up the good work.

  • I was planning on getting a korg keyboard. Do I need 3 keyboards to play this song or could I just use one keyboard?

  • @rob92376

Don't spend money. Nowadays you can have extremely vintage like sounds on your computer (under Mac, Windows .... and recently very efficient Linux version). You will be able to emulate hundreds old sounds and create an infinity of new ones.

So just get a master keyboard (Edirol, M-Audio, ...) or a Midi interface if you already have an old synth, plug it in your laptop .... and just go !!!

  • Wonderfull ! thank's man.

  • W O W ! ! ! !

  • this is great , keep covering DM, I love synths and DM is my favorite band. Good job.

  • I like it. Original Depeche Mode or not. Do it better samtohinleon !!

  • Quality...................

  • @samtohginleon I already produce and record my own songs. I have plans of uploading them soon :)

Regarding Youtube I like to do covers by the moment

  • @DX5

Many of us like you doing covers, too (Especially of Depeche Mode!!!)

    Thanks!!!

  • @samtohginleon Why is it sad? Its great fun replicating songs, you learn a lot as to what makes a song tick and how to get certain sounds and I think othr people appreciate your efforts more. How many bands out there do covers or Hollywood remakes have there been?

  • @samtohginleon Covering another artist's programming teaches you things about interesting percussive arrangements, basslines, secondary rhythmic elements, lead lines, chord changes, etc that you can later apply to brand new music. These skills are sorely needed by the current batch of teenage remixers and DJ's. We live in a point and click world that produces lots of mediocrity.

  • @samtohginleon

Well personally I love his covers. I think he is very talented. Not as easy as you think!

  • @samtohginleon Nowt wrong with doing covers. Gets some practice in. Probably gives you an ear for sounds.

  • Yeah do what you like doing DX5... WORK SOFTER.....enjoy what you do.... great vid...

  • I really liked this version. Thank you.

  • awsome mate!

  • good job

  • Wrong Notes, man!

  • very good JOB...

  • He's alone and he's playing the song great ! Impressive performance

  • Most of the DM sounds are part of the Emulator II library. DM themselves transfered those patches to the Emax I and II.

  • ¡QUE PASADA!

  • Genius!

  • OMG, this is fantastic! It's time to subscribe!

I love both your job, and Depeche Mode!

  • Very cool! Thanks!

  • Wooow!

Almost identical to original track! You're a synth-master!!

  • I love watching your videos , you are my hero on keyboards :))

  • +++++++++10++++++++++++

  • That isn´t bad, you can try to sing :)

    5*!

  • brilliant as well.I have a request for you;

    why don't you play "photographic"?

I'm sure it would be a great job.

    tnx

  • @podenzana1 Dark Lights, White Room - awesome!

  • Nice One-man-band setup here! All that's left needed to top it off is at least one vocalist and you could do a whole gig.

  • Love checkin out your Mode vids. Thanks!

  • Awesome!! I'm a synth freak - luv this set-up.

  • I like it! Excellent Skills!

  • This was incredible!! I haven't played keyboards in about 20 years, but I wasn't as talented as you. Seeing you play makes me regret quitting.

  • Told You So by DMode most definately, but I think the beginning would be difficult to get in

  • Great job,,good luck in next projects

  • have to agree with dukeofpearl. we can all sample mate. the quest is finding the sounds yourself. come on. WORK HARDER!

  • hey... I think its not the aim to copy DM sounds 1 to 1, it would be easy to sample everything... it's all about playing it live, having fun and to realize how wonderful those old, "multi layered" synthpop tracks were arranged!!

  • You put my words in your mouth. Exactly that is.

Think I just sampled two sounds, I don't know what would happen if all sounds were sampled or "General Midied":)

  • @rooter639 : Also, what is the point about not sampling anything? I am not into a contest. I just enjoy playing those tracks, as much as I barely have time to do them.

So I decide Work Softer, regarding these covers.

  • @DX5 im impressed how many idiots comment on your video. i dont know whats wrong with these folks. Cant they just appreciate your great work?

    stupid idiots

  • Hands down....impressing....really! Good drum sound choice also...Respect!

  • DX5 and Alan Wilder thats the same, great Soundmans. Thanks for the fantastic Songs from you on my Car :-)

  • Hi DX5 !!!!!

can you do us a favor??? PLEASE, play "Told you So" (Depeche Mode)

    I thank you man......

  • the only part that sounds right is the metallic transpose at the beginning which you obviously sampled. try to get the sounds yourself. its so much more fun. you can recreate this sound on a jd800 if you have the time and patience. with respect. this is constructive critisism.

  • Comments always welcome!.

Think that sound were accidentally got when they (Alan afair) was pitching and time stretching some industrial sample.

    Not easy to recreate.

  • Comment removed

  • nice work man... keeep it up

  • good job!
