I wish I had hands that small! I could play the first chord in Carcassi 3 much easier. She really excells at dynamicsand phrasing - out of all the DVD's I have she does the best at this.

Martha is a deeply "cerebral" guitarist, not a showboat. I would love to hear her perform Britten's "Nocturne" -- it seems perfectly suited to her temperament and technique.

Topmusic and Curatica performed character assassination against Martha in effect by saying that she is not as good as alot of her peers who also play classical guitar. That was totally uncalled for. Nothing could be further from the truth!!

Curatica and Topmusic wrote that Martha lacks energy and fire. I totally disagree with that. They mistook a difference in playing style with a lack of energy.

I challenge them to record some instrumental videos of their own here on You Tube. If they are up for it, they can show us the fire and energy that they think Martha lacks. Then, we can judge their performance and share our feedback with them.

She is a very "classical" player, nice and accurate but lacks energy. She should play simple pieces and play them with fire. Don't get me wrong, she is a good player and with age may understand what I am saying.

One cannot argue that she lacks "a certain energy", especially compared to the great men performers but also compared to some exceptional women. But she compensates that with sensitivity, finesse and musicianship. I saw her a few times and I enjoyed her music--she is a real stage performer and most importantly, a nice human being.
