Well, a black hole is caused when the mass of an object is compressed into a density called the Swartschild radius, which is the radius of a given mass required to form a black hole. (An object whose gravity is that or greater than the speed of light's escape velocity). I'm not saying that it's impossible or possible for the collider to create such an object, However it would mean particles trillions of times smaller than we know.

Also they are not running it at full power yet. For information surrounding the creation of black holes look at Einsteins theory of general relativity (where theory means a logical arguement high supported by evidence).

They were recreating the conditions of the big bang. To try and find the higgs bosons which is the last thing in particle physics to be discovered. How would smashing two particles together cause a black hole? Well, a black hole is caused when the mass of an object is compressed into a density called the Swartschild radius, which is the radius of a given mass required to form a black hole. (An object whose gravity is that or greater than the speed of light's escape velocity). I'm not saying that it's impossible or possible for the collider to create such an object, However it would mean particles trillions of times smaller than we know.

This is the only way that a mass that small could be compressed into the Schwarzschild radius with that little energy and it relies on so many hypothetical (and relies on the graviton becoming as strong as the strong nuclear force through all dimensions which at this point isn't even hypothetical, no one has any evidence it will) that it is just incredibly unlikely. Oh and look, years on and there is no evidence for black holes being formed at CERN.

The clip you shown said quite clearly that the reason bglack holes were not created was because there was a fault in the LHC and thus they couldnt do any experiments. Also they are not running it at full power yet. For information surrounding the creation of black holes look at Einsteins theory of general relativity (where theory means a logical arguement high supported by evidence).

@gorilla199 Oh and a sidenote about black holes... The mass of a black hole is irrelevant. A black hole is an object that has an incredible density. Density is the amount of mass that an object of a certain size has. More density= more mass in less space. So a black hole can be any size and any mass, as long as it is hyperdense. Go read about what happens to particles when the reach ~98% of the speed of light, they increase mass instead of speed when u apply energy.

They were not "wrong" to claim such a thing, because it was based off string theory and braneworld derivatives which some scientists believe to be true. Exploring the option of black holes forming was a necessary precaution. In this case, a microscopic black hole could form with a mass of roughly 1 TeV/c^2, which is well within the LHC's capabilities, and would also mean that cosmic rays colliding with the Earth's atmosphere produce similar entities. Under alt. conditions, there is no chance.

Once again, CERN never said that black holes would be created. I also noticed a comment saying that the LHC was supposed to simulate the conditions of the Big Bang in which you replied that the "LHC could be God (I dont think so)"
Noteworthy, the Big Bang theory is the exact opposite of the theories that indicate an omnipotent entity creating all of exsistence, so it doesn't claim to be God, you do that.

These micro black holes which in theory can exists due to particle collisions evaporate quickly and produce other particles in the process

The LHC was supposed to recreate the big bang not a black hole. Also from the report it says a black hole "may" be produced and they said "if" one is produced, so they weren't entirely saying one "would" be produced. And btw if you were right about it all, no need to act all smug about it. Saying the scientists to pay you for some lessons in science and that you're smarter than all the scientists in CERN? They were recreating the conditions of the big bang. To try and find the higgs bosons which is the last thing in particle physics to be discovered. If itisnt discovered that means the theory predicting the existence of the higss boson is incomplete. So in a sense the LHC was crelated to recreate a big bang.

Obviously you don't know as much physics as you believe you do. Can you demonstrate black holes must be more massive than a star? Only those formed by gravitational collapse are that massive. External pressures can put a smaller quantity of mass into a small enough region to be within its Schwarzchild radius, thus forming a black hole.
I doubt you could even pass a physics A level, never mind grasp general relativity.

To the guy who made this video: FIRST of all they aren't TRYING to create black holes they are trying to prove or disprove the big bang and if proven what happened right after. Black holes btw hit your body, your country, your planet and even your universe every second every day every year and will continue to do so for the rest of eternity. They also say the collecter is safe and nothing can happen because of the strong electro magnetic field keeps them from touching the sides. What happens if there is a loss of power and in the micro second for the switch over to generators occurs but in that span the black hole is able to collide with the side.
