  • Seriously - this song kicks some righteous ass!!!

  • DamnI love this album and this album. Memories memories memories. So many good times... Wish I could go back.

  • this music always makes me drive my car like a madmad...u feel like an immortal

  • @dayjanuary I do the same thing when I listen to Throwing Copper while I'm driving!!! When the song "Stage" comes on...look out bitches!!!

  • Until you take my flag! Look me in the eye, you'll never take my flag.

  • Man, I was addicted to Throwing Copper!

  • the only good live song.

  • Truly one of the most killer albums of all time!

  • This was/is pure musical genius. I am happy to say I did get to see Live live.

  • this is one of the songs by these guys that changed a lot for me back in the days. Just to support them I bought some stuff from their store... but i really wish I could've done more for them or even seen them preform... their music is just sensually awesome :) If I could I'd personally thank all the live artists... in my worst moments in the military (although I'm a pacifist now) this music made me feel alive and wanting to do right, so it's a few years late but thanks

  • @matssahlstrom I saw them during this tour in a relatively small venue and Weezer was the opening act. Not a big Weezer fan, but Live was on fire!

  • I went to the USA at 15 and went to an gig and saw these guys never heard of them over here but bought this and was a wicked album

  • 7 people had complicated ear surgeries that greatly affected their ability to recognize good music.

  • Strong voice, heavy tribal sounding drums, amazing lyrics....this song amazes me

  • great song really and this band is totaly unknown in austria and i dont know why

  • i loved this album as a younger teenager in the 90's, not all my friends agreed with me but to me its classic

  • Haya, yo me gústás múchó el youtubó de españólós múchós y sí ay ay cárámbá!!!!!

.... btw anyone else think this band sucks donkey ass? wtf did i click on to end up watching this anyway???

Ástás luégos, los mucháchós amííííígós :D ....ok enoufo tiemo wasto on esta mierdashito....

  • This song shakes me to my core.

  • This song rocks!!!

  • I love dis shite. irs radical. My name is chelse howland!!!!fuck. yeah. Jim Ham is da man, hes got a massice shlong

  • @jamieham100 English...Learn it

  • YES!!

  • Haven't heard this in many many years & it just knocked my head off. Such a powerful album, I was 11 when I bought it after seeing Selling the Drama on Noisy Mothers in 94 & in my teen years sort of forgot about it. Thanks for the upload.

  • +Live+ owns!

  • Such a powerful voice..so underrated

  • This is probably one of the best albums ever. It hasn't left my CD deck since I purchased it a few weeks ago. It's rare to find a CD where every song is catchy and amazing. Can anyone suggest other great 90's rock/alt rock albums to check out? Preferably something that can match how great Throwing Copper with every track being nothing less of awesome. Thanks!

  • @mixtape86

Soundgarden's 'Superunknown' from 1994, same year as this album has always been considered a masterpiece of the grunge era, you might like especially since Soundgarden tends to mix in heavy metal to their grunge sound. There's a reason why the 'Superunknown' album was rated 5 stars from most all reviews and on the top 500 albums of all time.

Their previous albums are great as well, but maybe not as fitting for everyone unless they're into grunge.

  • @mixtape86 Its hard to beat this album for 90's rock, but also check out Live's first album ''Mental Jewelry'' and their third album ''Secret Samadhi'' are also good.

  • QUE BUENA BANDA DE LA RE PUTISIMA MADRE!!!

  • @swiminjugernaut He didn't even start his career until 2004. Live was HUGE in the 90's so except for the whole a decade earlier thing, yeah you're totally right. Freakin R-tard.

  • Someone got me hooked on this song, hmmm lets see....14 years ago....when i think of him, i think of this song....

  • what is this song about? " i liked the way my hand looked on your head" does it have to do with physical abuse??

  • Grunge version of U2

  • 5 people have no idea what music is.

  • @swiminjugernaut god i hope you're being sarcastic

  • @swiminjugernaut Chris Daughtry was prob like 2 years old when this song came out.

  • @swiminjugernaut Yeh and the ABBA are Britney Spears wannabes.....idiot....

  • @swiminjugernaut Troll... next time you go swimming, stay under.

  • @swiminjugernaut Are you frigging serious?

  • @swiminjugernaut hey thats just funny, the fact that you can compare the two :( Chris Daughtry has a good voice but not half the soul and heart this band does. pfft, Wannabe.

  • This song is so BADASS I listen to it everyday!

  • God forbid you put "Iris Live" while searching for this band. All this crap music comes up. I can't believe it was difficult finding this song. Beautiful song and amazing band.

  • This was one of those Albums...hell this is one of those bands...One of the greatest albums by one of the greatest bands

  • the singer reminds me the mix of scott stapp and Eddie Vedder hmmm

  • The drums are almost hypnotizing.

  • When I first heard this song on the album I was like Fuck Yeah!

  • throwing copper is one of those rare albums that is from front to back.....SOLID.

  • In my opinion, arguably one of the best 5 albums of the '90's. Talk about picking the shit "up", and laying it right back "down"...gripping, muscular, electric gospel.

  • @YomenCoxwain Perfectly said my friend!

  • i recorded my ep were these guys did this album!! love this song!

  • Turns out the singer has a massive axl rose complex.

He demanded all song credits and 70% of all revenues from shows and album sales, or he would quit the band.

They are currently looking for a new frontman.

  • @IDCFFSGTFO I just read you comment and checked wikipedia....he was asking for a $100k "singer bonus" and he stold the rights to the songs publishings. What a jerk off, my opinion of him just went from top shelf to file 13.

  • @IDCFFSGTFO Actually, they're not looking for a new frontman. They started a new band together along with Candlebox singer Kevin Martin and Candlbox guitarist Sean Hennesy called The Gracious Few. They're really good as well.

  • Now that is a juice jerker.. a energy drink in music.. its a friggin fantastic stress reducing mother of a song

  • Can anybody give the full lyrics, including the last part?

  • My favorite song off this album. GREAT SONG!

  • melhor disco do mundo!!!!

  • This album stands as one of the very few that I think eclipses any one single on it. This is a fantastic work, it's too bad it seems they had no creative energy left after.

  • One of the best albums ever.

  • no bad track on this album!

  • I think he did have a kid which is life altering experience in a good way of course. I think the band matured and the softer stuff reflects where they are now. Times change things evolve and priority can change and you need to adapt. I met them a few times there all very nice and genuine down to earth.

  • Live is such an amazing band. I saw them live over 30 times there even more amazing live. The energy and they know how to put on a good show. I could tell they enjoyed what they were doing it was not another pay check. I know some don't like the new stuff too soft. But they been around quite sometime. They will eventually start showing there age. You cant expect hits all the time. I feel there 90s stuff reflects what type of place they were in at the time when recording there albums and there

  • @darkaddict18 For me all there songs are hits , i sometimes love the softer songs even allot more then the harder ones.

  • my dad bought this album and i really liked the album cover, so i had to listen to it to see if the music is better then the album cover, both of them did.

  • Absolute masterpiece!!! Also gives me chills.....

  • Great Album.

    ALL Killer - NO Filler!

  • Most have heard of "Live" through a song or 2 on the radio. If you REALLY appreciate what they've done through what you've heard already, you should seek out an obscure album from long ago called "Mental Jewelry". The sound quality sux but the passion is prevalent in spades. Ten Thousand Years, baby!

  • @RandyOLeary I'm not sure how obscure Mental Jewelry is but I agree that it's the best of Live. A young band on fire, spiritual beauty, way ahead of their time, absolutely brilliant. I listen to it still and it holds up great. I can't tell you how many people I turned on to it after Throwing Copper came out. Ten Thousand Years, baby, for sure!

  • Class 5*****

  • I had almost forgotten this album too & what a shame. Aside from one of the LOUDEST concerts in my life (opening for Pearl Jam &...almost... blew them away) one of the best. Looks like they're history for now but damn, too bad.

  • I scene them in concert too, they we're pretty awesome!

  • I gotta get this out and play it in the car! Great CD!

  • Sh*t...I forgot what a great album this is. Now, years later...a little older, a little wiser...the lyrics that always evaded me on some level have become much clearer. Fantastic.

  • Wow...what memories this brings back. The same emotions wash over me....

  • This is one of the most awesome songs by +live+. I wish they had played it more often live. They dont even have a music video for this song. its sooooo sad. I wish i had seen them perform live.

  • @triferustetroxide there was a video of the song on MTV, it was just one from their unplugged session.

  • @triferustetroxide theyre still touring bro. youre not too late!

  • The strippers love to dance to this at work.

  • Agree with everyone... this album gives me chills it is so awesome!!! LOVE IT!

  • @marilynk1122 His voice really moves you !

  • This is one of the better bands under the label "Post-Grunge". At least everything before The Distance To Here. Throwing Copper is my favorite album that I own, period.

  • the ultimate ode to passionate obsession, emotionally invigorating!

  • i know you wrote this comment 3 months ago but i was about to wrote my thoughts and feelings on this song and found you already beat me to it.

  • I think it is the "quiet" parts and how the song builds as it goes along that really sets the hook.

  • you should find the acoustic version of it. Ed and Chad performed a 6-8 song 2-man acoustic set as a promotional thing for throwing copper. Iris was in the set.

I found it back in the napster days of the internet.

  • This song makes my hair stand on end...One case where the word AWESOME actually applies. Thx fer the post

  • Great, original, vital band..."Throwing Copper" brings back such great, positive and uplifting memories for me...speechless...keep making music boys.

  • Tuneeeeeee

  • I lvoed this band in middle school. hearing it again amkes me smile. Great group; wonderful audio!

  • Man I used to love this band so much! i was Mr. Kowalczyk's biggest groupie ever! Still love the music:-)

  • The drums on this song are freaking insane. Love it

  • I couldn't agree more...maybe I should do a cover.

  • Really nice song, and the Quality of sound is excellent

  • I agree sounds like it was off my media player. And there should be more music like this nowdays it sucks. all it is anymore is rap what garbage,

  • Head on hip??? The face goes between the hips. It's rather clear the man sed HAND. Don't feed the bears. Don't reply to me again

  • No....Did you not read what he said? He said Head not hip, Meaning Hand on your head....Not head on your hip or hand on your hip.

  • I like the way my hand looked upon yer hip.

  • head, not hip

  • Why is there a Pearl Jam discussion on a +Live+ video..? They can't touch our friends from York, PA!

  • Have you ever heard this played acoustic?

    YOU SHOULD.

    It's amazing.

  • Holy crap. Where can I hear that?

  • Rolled up a whole fucking lotta D&D characters to PJ Ten & this album.

  • underrated.

  • I witnessed Ed Vedder snort something, then chug a rolling rock on the side lines of a concert stage in Knoxville. Being in the audience, looking through binoculars, It was cool. When he said he could have had a better time in the hotel, things went south... The band turned things around. So when you speak of Pearl Jam, go beyond Ed... Thanks...

  • Ten? Pearl Jam? Hahaha

Eddie Vedder sings like a goat. He should cover Neil Diamond songs.

I love soundgarden, nirvana, alice in chains, obviously live, but I don't know why anyone would like pearl jam at all.

  • Musicianship makes me listen to Pearl Jam. I can perfectly understand why some people don't like Eddie Vedder, but Stone Gossard and Mike McCready make one mean guitar tandem.

  • listen to even flow -_- that was a good song. hell i like megadeth. the singer doesnt have a singing voice, but it just fits the band. and if anyone likes rap (i dont) NONE of them can sing, thats why it is called retards attempting poetry after all, yet people like it

  • great

  • such a great song!

  • GRACIAS A TODOS POR COMENTAR...!!!

  • This song could just as easily been a single as any of the other masterpieces on this album. muy bonita cancion, muchas gracias.

  • this and ok computer best albums of the 90s

  • easy buddy, you forgot Ten and Nevermind

  • replace nevermind with Dirt and ten with anemia your onto something

  • ...put back nevermind and you got it right

  • good analysis..but you forgot superunknown and dirt

  • Unlike many of these supposed fans, I agree with you nigirubian -- Each album is different but definitively great in its own right.

  • why must they have changed their sound so much?

  • i agree their still a great band but its getting hard to enjoy their newest songs

  • I really think this was the best album of the 90's. There are so many songs that I hold close to my heart. Especially I Alone and Lightning Crashes

  • This takes me back. I saw them in Burgettstown, PA in 1995 when this album was...HUGE. They performed this song, it's great live!

  • Damn, a lot of hate in these comments. Yeah, this album was definitely their masterpiece. But you only get one masterpiece in your career, and if it happens to come early, then by necessity everything that come after it doesn't compare. I enjoy most of what Live has put out since Throwing Copper, even the roundly-hated V. It's not as good, sure, but it's still decent on its own.

  • they sucked after this album. this album rocks, and the first one. then shit love songs

  • i agree

  • best album of the 90's....period.

  • I can tell you didn't grow up in the 90's, and you're definitely not a musician...and you haven't heard AIC's dirt or facelift.....

  • I play guitar and I'm def. a 90's child. I love Alice In Chains- amoung alot of other great bands from that era- I guess when I said best album of the 90's I meant this album holds the best memories FROM the 90's for me. Takes me back to a simpler time. Plus it's a pretty consistant album (unlike all their later work) when it got to the point of "dolphin's cry" I pretty much lost all respect for them lol. I'm def. not putting them in the same catagory as Lane Staley and Jerry Cantrell.

  • live>>>>>>>>>>>>AIC

  • live better then aic? there both good but comon now

  • This music was bad ass. The whole album is fucking straight out wicked. Amazing how a band that made such great music turned to shit and started making god awful crap. Too bad, it really is.

  • I'd almost completely agree. V sucked, then Birds of Pray was decent. I only like a couple of songs off of the newest one, particularly "Sofia." Did they get bad for you after Throwing Copper?

  • this band is one tht i grew up on, and im so glad i did, these guys expanded my music variety so much

  • :20-:22 sounds real nasty on a loud ass stereo

  • if xaviercuervo hadnt said what he said, i would have said the same thing....so yeah....ditto for me!!!

  • in the 90,s when you didnt have the i pods with 1000,s of songs to choose from (trowing copper} was my fav cd to listen to in my discman the entire cd is very adictive i remember buying it just for one song later that one song became my least favorite among the other songs really one of the bands that made great music in the 90,s

  • well i am almostr not surprised that you described my experience of this band to a tee

    cheers

  • i like this album the best

  • Live has some cheesy / corny lyrics that make me cringe because they're so awkward on Secret Samahdi

  • I know exactly what you mean, where was the producer when some of those verses happened

  • Stamid

they got too commercial - they were in a class of their own at one time. the quality of [alternative] music overall had degraded by then anyways..

  • Its a sad thing to see.

  • My dad told about live and they kick major a**

  • The best album of live is secret samadhi

  • as good as secret samadhi is, it cannot deliver all the songs throwing copper delivered. samadhi has lakini's juice, rattlesnake, and 1 or two others. throwing copper has almost every song as a hit, because it definitely was their best

  • i agree. their second best is birds of pray, i love that one.

  • Live kicks ass, especially live. It's hard to find their stuff online using the criteria "live" though. Throwing Copper is iconic IMO.

  • "until I take their flags". missing from the lyrics.

  • Sorry Iris, for forgetting about this song... ;P.

  • such a sick MTV video .. these guys are from Pennsylvania and f***in rock the house... very underrated album ..

  • I agree. I love every song from Throwing Copper. I actually got to see them in around 1995 and they kicked ass. It was one of the earliest concerts I ever attended, and I still remember it perfectly.

  • I love 90s alternative.....it has so much more soul than 'modern music'.

  • Classic song, from a much better era.

Honestly what the hell happened to these guys, the last decent song I heard from them was off of Secret Samadhi...

  • this CD was "perfect"

  • perfect ... I absolutely Agree

  • i agree also...one of the best cd's i've ever owned

  • why don't comments ever post where in the place you reply?

  • Yep, memories ... God Bles the 90's ... :)

  • ah, some albumns just bring you back to your youth and discovery of music.. this was definitely on the list.

  • i love this song

  • I saw this tour in 1994 in Milwaukee WI. it was a good show.

  • I love live and yes they are a b*tch to google LOL

  • even in youtube, dont put the song name first.. u end up with a live version of goo goo dolls rofl

  • I've always loved this band... since the first time I heard them... they are so not an REM knockoff like lots of people think...

  • A very overlooked band.
