  • thanks for this very helpful video! i'm looking at D200 right now because of the AI-S lens; the 50mm 1.8 is my favorite too. how is the battery life?

  • I've had a d200 since they came out in 2005. I'm finally buying a new camera today, the d700 and I can't wait. Now I just have to update half my lenses to fx so that's going to be about 8 grand altogether. But it will be worth it. The d200 has been an among freaking camera though and served me well.

  • D200 or d90? Help me!

  • is it weather sealed ?

  • is it ok to buy a 2nd hand d200 with 39,000 shutter counts?? Thanks

  • @rensper I'd buy something with 20k or less but that's just me. As long as the price is right.

  • Good review, thanks! You may want to consider an even older 50mm f1.8 AI or AI-s long nose ~ even better optics and a little closer focusing! AF will be great for flash work and all kinds of metering, but plastic will not last as long.

  • i have a d70s i hate it im buying a d200 this week :D

  • you got this second hand with only 4K shots FUCK ME! that's a bargain mate!!!

  • Great review! :3

Im kinda on a budget so would you recommend i go for a D200 or save up and get a D300?

Im coming from a D40, however ive had the D40 for like 3yrs

  • @KORGRULES don't go for either. just get yourself the D7000 it's cheaper

  • Nice review!

I think i go for D200, upgrade from my D40!

    Tanks!

  • what lens did you say you have on that?

good review btw, i love my d200

  • @profssrfunk its an old 50mm f1.8

  • @iobylliW thanks

  • @iobylliW

hey friend, whats the different between dslr and slr?

and is this camera slr or dslr?

    thank you in advance

  • Just want to say that the shutter count starts over once you reach 10,000. On my d3000 i have over 22,000+ exposures just from 7 months. That also could be because my friends (who know anything about cameras) use it sometimes and they take like 7 shots of the same thing. Maybe I have shot way more pictures than I should have but just wanted to let you know that the counter eventually clicks out.

  • You say you checked the shutter count on your D200, how did you do this? I would like to check my D200 shutter count. Casey

  • so it doesnt auto focus with the 50mm 1.8?

  • @kpbrian79 Only because this particular lens is an old AIS lens.. the newer 50mm AF will work fine

  • @iobylliW about that..The f.stop and shutter speed is controlled through the lens manually. The specs on D200's screen will not show the settings of your AIS lens will it? I have a Canon T2i btw, but just wandering because I'm buying a mount to fit on my telescope.

  • This or D90?

I have some old lenses that won't meter with the D90, and I can be rough with my camera, but is the image quality on this good?

  • hi i live near london, could you please tell me where did you get it as i want to upgrade mine from d40x. thx

  • @hidri86 lcegroup.co.uk

  • never plug the camera or it's mem card directly in a computer, Buy a $15.00 card reader to stay in your port.

  • any chance of more videos on using the d200 , you seem to have good information and lessons would be great

  • Thanks for the review. I have a D200 and it is a great camera. Hope the lens is ok? I also have the 50mm f1.8, bought it on ebay for about £40 and it works well. I like the fact that you can use manual lenses on the D200 and have a few manual lenses myself.

  • 5 stars for damaging your favourite lens, for the benefit of us youtubers. Hope it's ok mate. Lovely camera you have there.

  • got mine from TEch4less

for $600 NEW (open box, but all need and all was there!)

    its a wondefull camera

excuse my english, im from peru ;)

  • I really hope your camera and lens are okay. I dropped mine once and nearly had a heart attack

  • they seem fine, just the focus ring on the front has torqued up a few notches - it's now slower to move between infinity and the closest point. It's okay though, it felt like i'd dropped a child! I'd hate to think what i'd have done had it broken

  • yes...its the Nikon MB-D200, got it at ebay. it's totally worth it. not only it gives you the option for the 2nd battery and the vertical shutter release, but it gives me a better feel when holding the camera.

  • nice review. i got my D200 last month, a xmas gift for myself :-) i started with the D60, the d200 is definitely much much better. i got myself a battery grip too. enjoy your D200

  • Thanks! Nice to hear your enjoying it too.. How have you found the grip - worth the buy?

  • @iobylliW I actually stopped using me my grip. I bought a second battery, just in case, but I have not had one die on me during anything important.. So, for me I will say no the grip isnt all that.
