@robmanuel : tuxedos are a subset of domestic short-hairs (as opposed to those poor inbred "purebred" cats that idiots drop $400-2000 on), like gingers, tabbies, tortoise-shells, calicoes, etc. Tuxedos are 98% male (inbreeding can produce females), as with gingers (if THEY inbreed, they not only produce females, they can also have up to 27 toes; explains Hemingway's polydactyls); tabbies can be either sex, but calicoes & torties are always female. Solid whites or blacks can be either sex.

I had a prussian blue (stray, no papers) named Worf, who ran away/escaped the apt. BEFORE I COULD GET HIM FIXED, and he inseminated every cat in a four-block area. Before Katrina, every block between St. Andrew & Josephine was FILLED with pewter-grey cats! I hope that they made it through.
