It's impressive how Barlow can manage her voice, down and low, high and loud...I mean, we know he is a professional, but i can't hear him without feeling the power.
@XxSYST3M182xX bitch plz I'm the worst guitar player of all time...but come on...idk what Jon was thinking when he hired that guy. He usually doesn't disappoint on his choices.
@lXMaverickXl totally agreed. I watched them live in Sao Paulo/2010 and he just ruined every solo in the show. Like, he was creating notes from his head and making a whole new solo - completely out of the tune with the music. Disastrous.
@Duzinfa I know right? Look at his rigid shoulders, the blank emotionless expression, then watch how he plays this solo, then compare it to other guitarists who play that solo...I just don't get his reasoning for picking that guy. It's like we picked the guy who can tap and not anybody who can shred, again i say. lol
@lXMaverickXl Dude I'm with you on this. Whilst half of the the point to playing songs live is to not make it sound *exactly* as it does on record, this guy doesn't even use artistic license. He just plays it plain wrong. Jon shouldn't have hired him.
@TheRageQuitUK Exactly! Ya gotta at least be well versed in your scale runs so you can solo over anything. it's why us guita rplayers learn them and drill drill drill them into our brains
@lXMaverickXl Yeah dude. If you're gonna 'artistically' play with a solo, stick with the same scales so it gives the fans the basics of what they wanna hear. It HAS to sound right. This doesn't.
@xmetalbassx I bet we'd hate it if Schaeffer tried singing... and let's face it, he's basically a tribute artist to Steve Harris. Maiden fans find this material very comforting and familiar.
@zonker400 That's true, his vocals sound a bit like Tom Araya's on Stormrider. And he just bases his playing on Harris due to the fact that Harris is amazing. And, being a maiden fan, it is comforting and familiar.
Live in Athens play feels more powerful, dont ask me why

This video shows it clearly - Iced Earth without Barlow is like Queen without Freddie.
