this is when Peel was Mark Radcliffe for a week and Maconie, Lee and Herring were guests. A c90 tape is hiding in the loft somewhere with most of the show on it.
This sounds like it was from the Radio1 comedy hour they did between 9-10 on a weeknight. Stewart Lee and Richard Herring were doing Fist of Fun around that time, and Stuart Maconie also had a program with Andrew Collins. This could either be a handover from that hour to Peel's program, or could also be when Maconie was filling in for Mark Radcliffe on the the 10-12 program and Lee and Herring just happened to be on.
lmao who are the guys talking to peely? where on earth did yo find this? I'm sure they loved him really :pa friend of mine still says bill oddy had the best rock scream of the 70s lol and he used to sing on i'm sorry i'll read that again, funny stuff
This is just so nice to find, especially with the day that's in it. Two fingers to twitter nay-sayers, links from there=watching things like this. Thank you, Robin Ince. RIP Mr. Ravenscroft, you have not had your place taken, unfortunately, you probably never will.
