my mother and i are very very pale and she used a tanning bed for about 3 weeks and had a gorgeous tan but i don't recommend using a tanning bed if you are pale. it will look very unnatural to anyone who knew you before you got tan.

You WILL burn... I don't burn. I have very pale skin during winter. My natural skin tone is very, very pale but I use oil and nothing else. I can lay outside for 3 hours with oil on and not get burnt, but I don't burn easy. I don't trust a word this guy says. Though, you should use an SPF at all times because it is bad for your skin not to, this guy acts like he knows what he;s talking about, when he doesn't.

yeah, if i owned tanning beds i would be so pissed if people did that. i tanned for about two months with tingle lotion and i only went like once every week or two. then i stopped for like 4 months. but i still had a good bass tan. so i went twice in the last two weeks, each time in a stand-up and used baby oil. but i knew that wouldnt be bad for the bed. but never burned got my tan back that fast :)

Im looking for the video where he explains why my tan looks good, but why he looks like an orange..... I suggest always wear sunscreen and apply it often and play lots of outdoor sports and after a couple of years you get a good tan..... Don't go to tanning beds.... the end result always looks ridiculous. And its lazy.

@josephga There is zero proof of tanning causing cancer. There is proof of sunburn causing cancer...not just tanning. Tanning is the side effect of the body when hit by uv rays. The dark color is from melatonin produced from this exchange. Which also explains why black people barely ever contract skin cancer...look it up for yourself.

They just say that so they dont have to clean it up. Use baby oil mixed with iodine on tanning beds, it is actually recommended by the tanning pros.

it's really hard for me to tan i sit in the sun for over an hour and barely get tan at all..

Sun tans are for vanity. The really perverse thing is that many people with darker ethnic skin use things to make their skin lighter, and many white people use tanning to look darker. If you need proof of the lighter is better brainwash, simply look at most Spanish-language TV, and you'll see that the actors & news teams are place skinned. Racism and prejudice are not just a white thing.

p.s. I notice that the tanning salon owner didn't use gloves when cleaning a sweaty bed, grrrrrross!
