I don't know about philippines but what's the point of all comments saying "stop basketball and play football" ?

Why just can't do both? As far as i know philippine has almost 100 million ppl, which must be huge enough to promote two or more sports with big markets for each.

Anyway i was always curious as to why some huge countries like philippines, india, pakistan etc doesn't even appear in asian competitions. Actually this vid is my first time to watch philippine play football lol

I wish the Philippines would drop basketball as the national team sport like a bad habit. Filipinos aren't tall enough or fast enough to compete outside of the league within the Philippines and around Asia.

They should adopt Futbol since that is a sport that doesn't discriminate on height. Lionel Messi is 5'7" and is one of the best players in the world. Kaka, Ronaldinho, Benzema are 6". I'm sure with the right training, mindset, etc., the Philippines can become a great Futbol country.

filipinos can play soccer its just sad that most filipinos are into basketball when we have small players that cant even go to nba. cuz height does matter, but in soccer filipinos can practice more on speed and footwor. i beleive filipinos can be great with this kind of sports. dont just support basketball.:)

it isnt that the philippines cant make qualifiers, its that they opted out in favor of fostering a better team and promoting soccer within the philippines first. they've focused more on regional tournaments.
