Oh gosh, as has already been told Syrian hamsters can not keep it together, they are solitary beestes! And indeed, that cage is too small for the both of hamsters. I hope that with this information and the rest obviously something with it.

Keeping Syrian hamsters together aren't very common, but they can be kept together when they've been with each other since the day/week they were born. These hamsters are probably used to each other so it's fine.

the cage is to small! it has to be minimal 60 x 40 cm at least! an a running wheel must be 20 cm at least, not 16,5 cm like yours! I wonder if people ever will read about animals before they get them >_> this is pure animal cruelty!

@1yaoifreak1 Those hamsters are cute don't you think? And I have been doing a lot of research and studies about hamsters for ages now. Although Most Syrian Hamsters do not get along, you cannot necessarily say there are no ADULT syrian hamsters at all who do not fight each other. I have been around hamsters for so long now that not only do I know this has happened for real, but I have also seen Syrian hamsters who ended up being best buddies ( I know weird right? But its indeed a fact) : D

Syrians need to be kept solo after they leave their mum. So from around 6 weeks. They naturally live alone in the wild. The only hamsters that are kept in two or more are roborovski dwarf) hamster and chinese dwarfs.

if you live near a petsmart you can get dwarfs there, just make sure their the right breed :3 and that they have LOTS to do in their cages, mine like to run aorund all over the place lol

You CAN'T put 2 syrian hamsters together even if they are brothers/sisters. except when they are very young!!

The only hamster that you can't holt together, are roborovski dwarfhamsters, but these aren't tam

your totally wrong i have a syrian and there very soft you can put then together but if one has babies you have to take the male out other wise the mother will eat it to protect the young but if you wish to put syrians together they have to get used to each other ( put 1 next to the other ones cage for a bit )

be very careful. It is much more likely they will begin to fight after a while. I had to separate mine after only a few weeks. They are not to be housed together long-term.

well it depends on how old the hamster is as well. A completely round hamster is most likely pregnant since pregnant hamsters usually have a sagging roundness under their lower abdomen. make sure to read up on pregnancy and birth in order to learn appropriate ways to care for the babies if indeed your hamster is pregnant.

when i first got mine i got a small bowl and put some water in it and placed it underneath the water bottle so maybe that will work. otherwise i tried to 'encourage' my hamster to drink and understand that water can be gotten by either licking or moving the ball on the bottle.

yes, one per cage when they grow up, or even when they are little(dwarf hamsters may live together, thought ive heard they are not friendly with humans most of the time) mine bit in the beginning but once they became used to me and grew older, they bit less often unless i played with them too much :) they syrian and teddybear hamsters are best for human interaction and cuddliness :)

only for the first few months if they are from the same litter. but you MUST seperate them when they begin to fight with each other. so its probably a better idea just to buy two cages and seperate them in the beginning as mine did end up fighting a few months after i got them and i had to scramble to buy a new cage.

I wouldnt use cat litter. id be fraid they'd eat it. even when i tried to use a 'hamster potty' they tried to eat those bits so i stopped. id just buy the store brand litters. I personally use carefresh brand hich is pretty cheap and works great. my hamsters ove to snuggle up and sleep in it!
