It happened a few months back now. It was en-route to the sunshine coast to a work site in heavy fog. The conditions were most certainly not VFR and the pilot crashed into an island thinking he was flying between two islands. All the other operators were grounded that day due to the fog but he made the decision to leave. ATC had him @ -200 or 300 feet so they speculate he had also mis-calibrated his altimeter. Check the CTV news website, there is more info there. RIP, so sad.
