  • name of the song during the opening scene with flea?! i need to know!

  • Thanks

  • le poche persone che ascoltano chet vivono in paradiso...è per questo che in paradiso siamo così in pochi.

  • Patrick Wolf - The City. Can't believe I hadn't noticed til now. And I thought it was merely a homage to Gap.

  • the guy on the beach in the first scene is Flea RHCP when he was young

  • PLEASE anybody knows which is the title of the song that is playing when the woman is dancing, and the next scene when Chet is in the car ( since min. 2:25)

  • @TheAlchemistMusic Its called Zingaro !!!

Chek out my link or type Chet Baker Zingaro .. the full version is on youtuibe : /watch?v=vPG9_YHnWM8&feature=channel_video_title

  • @TheAlchemistMusic , the name of this music is "Retrato em branco e preto " ( translating literaly is Portrait in black and white) from Tom Jobim and Chico Buarque, both brazilian composers. I'm brazilian and I'm proud to listen this music in this first scenes! Great movie, great Chet Baker.

  • @TheAlchemistMusic ah ! so you can check it out - this song - with the singers: Elis Regina , and João Gilberto also. Just type " Retrato em branco e preto ". You'll see.

  • @TheAlchemistMusic It's called "Almost Blue" and was written by Elvis Costello for Chet Baker. You can see the two perform together at Ronnie Scott's in England. Hope that helps.

  • Thank you so much for posting the entire doc! I was convinced I'd never get a chance to see this in it's entirety since they still have yet to release it on DVD in the US. What a treat to discover it here.

  • what does that flea guy that loves dizzy gillespie so much have ANYTHING to do with this chet baker biography?!

  • If only , like Miles , he'd been able to kick H ...

  • Been waiting to see this again for 20 years...Thank you so much.let this be a lesson for all the folks wanting to "kick"on horse.

  • Flea, baby!

  • Bless you for uploading this!

  • Άψογο!!! Άψογο!!! Άψογο!!!

  • I love this documentary. It's one of my favourites. But I never understood why the hell Weber decided to open with Flea and those people on the beach. The images of Chet Baker with those girls in the car is so powerful and such a strong opening sequence. Oh well.

  • Flea is not worthy of being on film with Chet. He has become a record company shill who, for the last fifteen years, obviously cares much more about money than creating great music. A disgrace. It's really a shame because he used to be so talented.

  • @seserere yeah, but this WAS 1987 and flea was about the music then. what do you think?

  • @seserere Hey, I didn't like Stadium Arcadium either but that doesn't make flea a sellout.

  • @seserere Money will come in the wake of incredible talent. Whether one accepts it or not could depend on a personal past in relation to a future on which all that you love depends on. He is still insanely gifted. At least he's not a politician.

  • A message to all who will view this documentry.

If anyone made a documentry about you featuring your ex wives and your mother how would you look? Most likley not very good. Chet Baker was a wonderfull human being, if you want to know him listen to his records. For they hold the truth.

  • @loren1283 No question he was a brilliant musician. The truth is, Chet Baker was a heroin junkie for the majority of his life (58 years, 30+ as an addict). I don't care what rationale you have, life as heroin junkie compromises your ability to be a human being. Chet was a brilliant musician. He was not a wonderful human being. A documentary about most people would NOT feature a succession of damaged, angry ex-lovers and a disappointed mother.Chet was a piece of shit, but a brilliant musician.

  • @gflteFresh I agree with you in some points..however I wouldn'T put it exactly like you: Being on Heroin one becomes a Zombie, half dead half alive ....you care about nothing but the drug and become a total sociapath and treat the loved ones like some puppet...it is a very sad fact, that Chet was in love and only in love with Heroin...

  • @gflteFresh Simply well said.

  • I always thought it was lame that Bruce Weber allowed narration over the title song of the film Let's Get Lost, then to make it sting even worse, he didn't include the song Let's Get Lost on the soundtrack CD. I had to buy a Starbux compilation jazz CD to get the tune.

  • Very much appreciated

  • i never understood why flea appears in this movie. was he friends with chet baker or bruce weber?

  • I am not sure. Maybe he was friends with that "Boxer" I forgot his name or with one of the models Bruce Webber hired for the documentary...

I guess Fleas was a great admirer of Chet Bakers since he mentions in the doc how much he was a fan of Gillespie...

  • just found out, that flea actually was a (supposedly) very talented trumpet-player himself as a kid/teenager. he wasn't into rock-music until he met hillel slovak.

  • @AlbertSiebener He still his. He did the trumpets in "Hump De Bump" and some of The Mars Volta's records

  • @NaturalBornHedonist Flea is Chet's illegitimate child.

  • Thanks for uploading. I've wanted to see this for many, many years.
