F1 06'/ch.edition is a real good game !!! i also have GTR2 played very oftne, but on my opinion the 06' f1 game fot ps2/3 are really good and realitic games, when you have a nice set up for the car (which this one don't have ) the car feels really nic on each track !! the only thing is .......you need a good steering wheel to drive it !!
ive played the demo and loved the game, particularly the RAIN conditions look best and if you have a Vizio lcd with the 'motion' function (which takes the video and interpolates inbetween frames making say.. 30fps look like 60fps) when set on HIGH the already 60fps formula one looks like 120 -- super smooth super real. you gota see it to believe it.

@christian86a I totally agree with you, there is nothing better than PC. I liked this game only when all the driver aids and hud were turned off. It is a fun game to play when all you have to do is pick up a remote.

Ok, you're right for RBR or Iracing, but all mods for other games is not real, because fans(players), don't have a real telemetry for the brands etc. So this F1 i one of two best F1 games(Grand Prix 4 and this game), F1 2010 od Codies is arcade and game for causal gamers(How Pietrov qualify for the first grid, wet lap times is nearly the same as dry lap times etc.), not hardcore. GT5 is a simulator. In the end, if You talks about SIM You must play games on driving wheel.

No absolutely, in rFactor there are a excellents mods (as Historic and touring cars, or Gpc 79, they are the apex of the simulation) and minor mod, but is a excellent simulator, Gtr2 is the best for race on track, and very simulative game, with NAP mod became extraordinary..
For F1 rFactor is absolutely the best, look this video if you understand "rfactor F1 2008 Montreal onboard with Kubica"...
Yes, in rFactor ther are Karts mod, also in Gtr2..

I have a PS3 and this is a very good title for it, but no, the PS3 isn't better than my PC in any technical way whatsoever.

F1 06'/ch.edition is a real good game !!! i also have GTR2 played very oftne, but on my opinion the 06' f1 game fot ps2/3 are really good and realitic games, when you have a nice set up for the car (which this one don't have ) the car feels really nic on each track !! the only thing is .......you need a good steering wheel to drive it !!

ive played the demo and loved the game, particularly the RAIN conditions look best and if you have a Vizio lcd with the 'motion' function (which takes the video and interpolates inbetween frames making say.. 30fps look like 60fps) when set on HIGH the already 60fps formula one looks like 120 -- super smooth super real. you gota see it to believe it.

"Realism"? The only realism is the "OMG PRETTY GRAFIXX", which Sony is known to shove down everybody's throats. This game plays like ass.

That's not HDR. That's just sun in the early morning. Try looking into the sun and tell me it doesn't hurt. Now combine that with a helmet that might get covered in dust (or just be dirty) and you get this blinding sensation.

Yes it is.. if you want to play simulation game, buy Richard Burns rally, Iracing,Rfactor, Live For Speed or GTR2.
PS3 games is all arcade.. Ok GT5 is bit more simulation but thats it.
If you want to try simulation you need PC. FACT

@christian86a I totally agree with you, there is nothing better than PC. I liked this game only when all the driver aids and hud were turned off. It is a fun game to play when all you have to do is pick up a remote.

@christian86a Thing is, not all of us can afford to buy a wheel and dedicate hours upon hours of playing racing games, i like playing simulation type game and i like taking most if not all the assists of when i play F1 games but i use the xbox/PS3/PS2 controller so games like F1 CE or F1 06 for the PS2 are pretty solid in their realisum

Ok, you're right for RBR or Iracing, but all mods for other games is not real, because fans(players), don't have a real telemetry for the brands etc. So this F1 i one of two best F1 games(Grand Prix 4 and this game), F1 2010 od Codies is arcade and game for causal gamers(How Pietrov qualify for the first grid, wet lap times is nearly the same as dry lap times etc.), not hardcore. GT5 is a simulator. In the end, if You talks about SIM You must play games on driving wheel.

haven't played rFactor ot GTR2 but LFS is yet to be surpassed in realism for me.
It's hard to tell how good/bad this F1 game is without playing it.
Were all the settings set on maximum realism?
Also, are there karts in rFactor?

No absolutely, in rFactor there are a excellents mods (as Historic and touring cars, or Gpc 79, they are the apex of the simulation) and minor mod, but is a excellent simulator, Gtr2 is the best for race on track, and very simulative game, with NAP mod became extraordinary..
For F1 rFactor is absolutely the best, look this video if you understand "rfactor F1 2008 Montreal onboard with Kubica"...
Yes, in rFactor ther are Karts mod, also in Gtr2..

because the theory of putting heat into tires and brakes does not enter the minds of these kids who put in a "omfg fast lap" on gran turismo or need for speed or forza and who then think they can drive. They comment on others "lack of skill" whilst having none of their own,
I see them at track days all the time. All mouth and big exhausts and bodykits.
Then get smoked by all the more experienced guys in normal road cars, or go off.
Most we don't see again lol.
