Also the sanctum is cocoon's goverment, which esentially means that the party is fighting Cocoon. Think about what you say before you start saying things that make you look dumber than you actually are, but in this case you probably are.

Also if you read the web novella's, they were more of a good Samaritan group than fighting "against cocoon." btw, lightning, even though i love her, is not the main char. serah is. see the whole game revolves around them trying to get serah back and becoming l'cie themselves, but serah is one of the main subjects through out the game. so i would say serah is #1 char. the lightning then snow and so on. atleast my opinoin

they totally revamped the characters. lighting reminds me of cloud with squall's weapon. snow is a seifer knockoff. fang is auron and pains offspring. vanille is the love child of wakka and rikku(he cheated on lulu).oh, and snow's tow buddies; ya got lulu and wakka's son; seymours lil one is there too with blue hair. at least thats the soap opera i have goin on in my head. oh, i forgot one, hope is cloud and tifa's kid.

@BlankReview Deffinatly FF7 or 9. They were easily the best two, and probably two of the best games ever made. Alot of people are put off by the bad graphics compared to nowerdays, but when they were released they were both Epics. (my personal Favourite is FF7) also to answer your question. all the different numbered final fantasy games have nothing to do with each other. 13 will have compeltely new characters and a completely new story line.

If your new to the ff series then i would say the newer ones are a good start, so that you can gradually respect the series more and move on to the older games, which is where the series truly shine. My fav being ff9. If you wanna get this go for it, but i suggest you dive deeper into the series.
