Flock is closing down on the 26th April 2011. NO WAY!!
It must be the only major computer program ever to pull the plug. What a bunch of losers! This was one of the very best web browsers ever to surf the internet in 20 years. It makes internet explorer, firefox & a bunch of others look like they haven't left the 20th Century!!
Thanks Flock team for such a great program and thanks Flock management for abandoning one of the great web browsers of all time & all your loyal fans :(
I HATE things that try to do everything for you, so that you don't have to. After I rely on something like this, I'll forget how to do it the way I did it before I used this crap.
haha I still use version 2.6.0, I think I just can't get enough of the Accounts and Services Sidebar but I already installed the new version to try it
I love the minimalistic look of the new FLOCK. The old one was far too cluttered. I'm no tech idiot... but I could barely get it going properly. This one is a VERY attractive user interface.
a few things though.,.
- Flock won't let me add YouTube to the updates in the browser
- I dislike the bookmarks getting rid of categories.
- I would LOVE the ability to search for tags (#example) within the sidebar. For this, I still need to use Tweetdeck... and why use both? :-(
I see a few cool things on the beta but many more things that I don't like and would cause me to stop using flock. The wanting to save my passwords and stuff for other sites being the main one. And it bugs you about that every time you start it up. I don't want it saving my private info to another place online like that where it has another chance to be hacked.
I tested it and I don't like the new design so much. And the feed with all content together does not make much sense to me because my about 100 News feed would flood the mashed feed and I wouldn't see all the updates from the social sites... One probably has to create own groups to manage this but some standard groups are probably usefull for the "I-just-want-to-use-it"-users
Flock is my primary web browser. I have 7 installed (IE, Firefox, Chrome, Safari, Opera, FLOCK, and Avant), and I use flock for YouTube, social networking, etc. Because YouTube is the website I visit most, Flock is my default browser.

Mozilla based Flock is slow but complete with photo uploader ( Facebook ). This BETA is much faster but no photo uploader.
