How about we try a WORLD HISTORY MONTH...where all the different cultures of the world celebrate their history in their own way. Black history month, white history month, mexican history month just creates further segregation of different cultures. History month is a great idea, but when you limit it to one massive group of people, it creates problems.

We already have a white hisory SCHOOL YEAR as in 14 out of 21 chapters in my school world history textbook focused on Europe/White people. 5 were focused on Asia, and only 2 were focused on Africa. One of those chapters focused on Egypt, which is always the only African nation singled out for an entire chapter in almost any textbook. The second chapter gives a few paragraphs each summarizing the west African empires, a page about Mansa Musa, and thats about it.

How about we try a WORLD HISTORY MONTH...where all the different cultures of the world celebrate their history in their own way. We already have a white hisory SCHOOL YEAR as in 14 out of 21 chapters in my school world history textbook focused on Europe/White people. 5 were focused on Asia, and only 2 were focused on Africa. One of those chapters focused on Egypt, which is always the only African nation singled out for an entire chapter in almost any textbook. The second chapter gives a few paragraphs each summarizing the west African empires, a page about Mansa Musa, and thats about it.

They dont celebrate black history month in jamacia because they are the majority. The vast majority of americans for centuries have been told that black people havent done anything worthy. Black history month was started because the vast majority of people in this nation held blacks as inferior and with no accomplishments. Its changed some in the recent years but you must understand that it tells our story. From the 1st grade until the 12th Americans learn white asian indegious american and arab history with few mentions here and there of black people.

I don't think we should have any month for a specific "race." In fact, I feel that having a "special" month for a certain race is like saying that that race is so inferior that it needs a whole month to try to persuade people that it is important. No ethnicity needs that, we are all equal in value. Good video, I think it was quite fair.

I think that there's no need for such a month... you know, we learn about what white race did all the time in school and shit. I think that Black history month is there to remind us that black people did something fucking cool too. But yeah sure, if you want to celebrate your race, I'm down! I think that White people should have their own history month because it's hypocrisy about how most of society feels about White history month being wrong. I think that we have so much to be proud of and the fact that we were pretty much a superpower throughout history isn't enough to say, "Oh no, it's wrong". Why should there be a White History month when white people are the majority in the U.S. When you turn the t.v. on you mostly see white people. When you open a magazine you mostly see white people. there is nothing racist about it.

While Black history month is specifically for celebrating 'African Americans'. No race needs a damn month, it just promotes further segregation.
