this episode pissed me off so much, there was basically NO DELENA and the stefan/katherine scenario being a dream was the most predictable thing ever.

Also, physically yes, he attacked bonnie, but in his eyes he was attacking emily bennett because she was destroying his only chances at getting katherine. And HE DID feel remorse after the jeremy incident. And you keep bringing up all the people hes killed, can we not forget in the episode 'rose' they mentioned how stefan used to "rip people apart just for the fun of it" aka JUST LIKE DAMON IN THE BEGINNING. stop bringing it up
@TaylinParker1 I was unsure too about him seeing Bonnie, but then when the fire died, for a few seconds Bonnie wobbled on her feet, looking around her, disorientated. I thought he'd pick up on that, but I guess he was in a rage. Either way, same outcome. Bonnie would be dead at his hands. Damon and Stefan have messed up and both take accountability for that - I think that's what we all need to remember as well.
@SuperWahinetoa Well in all fairness, Bonnie's betrayal of Damon and Stefan (and indirectly Elena as well) on Founder's Day could have just as well resulted in both of their deaths. Sure, it may not be the same as if she were to directly try and kill them, but the intent for death was still there. I'm not justifying Damon's attempt at killing Bonnie; I just don't think this incident deserves to go unacknowledged either.
@danixcalifornia15 I wished that my girl handled that differently, to just say upfront Grams didn't take it off, neither could she bc innocent lives would be lost. Unsure it was a betrayal of Elena, when she is the driving force into many spells Bon felt alarmed about doing. Intent wasn't their death, I think, but ridding Mystic of vampires, When she knew Stefan would risk his life for Damon, despite everything Damon was capable of, she stepped up & saved them. There's hope 4 them all yet. :)
@SuperWahinetoa Well I do think in a sense it was a betrayal of Elena seeing as how she cares for both Salvatore brothers and was under the guaranteed impression that Bonnie removed the curse for both of their protection. I think it was Bonnie's intent for both brothers to die, but only because she believed they posed a threat like the rest. So that said, I do think her intentions were good; just misinformed. As you said, she did save both brothers when push came to shove. I commend her there.
@danixcalifornia15 Elena cared for Bonnie too - she should've asked rather than assumed she would do everything she wanted. Elena continues to do it by pimping her out to Rose. Protecting the brothers wasn't Bonnies vow, the town came first. Yes, she handled it badly, but her choice was to save the town not intentionally hurt the brothers. Stefan she trusts more than Damon & shows it by being more compassionate to their requests. Hope to see them repay the favors with care to her as well. :)
@SuperWahinetoa I agree with you there. Elena has a tendency to take Bonnie for granted in how she expects her to perform witchcraft whenever she deems it necessary.
That's what I meant about Bonnie's intentions being in the right place. She felt she was doing the town a favor by not lifting the curse as she believed all vampires posed some sort of threat. It was good of her to step in and save the Salvatore brothers when they were in mortal peril. I'm sure that debt will be repaid some day.
wow, it really annoys me how all the SEers or DBers or anyone who is anti-DE keeps bringing up damon in the beginning. That damon has nothing to do with who he is now, the whole point of him being the "bad guy" in the beginning was so they could show character growth. And he DID NOT get jenna stabbed, his phone call with katherine had nothing to do with that, that was all because of SE's "rendezvous" in bed.

@TaylinParker1 I agree! Damon may have done a lot of evil in his time, but if forgiveness and redemption can be extended to Stefan, why not Damon too? At one time in his life, Stefan was just as lost and out of control. He can't undo his past anymore than Damon can. But it's who he is now, that defines him. The same rule applies to Damon. He's still struggling and while his efforts should not overshadow his rap sheet, he does have a stronger hold on his humanity now. He's come a long way.
@jlafferty23 The writer has no say? This series is an adaptation of her novels, and while it's clear the TV show is straying from the books and winding it's own path, I highly doubt they'd change details so large and significant. The triangle is the very core of the franchise to begin with.

@SuperWahinetoa It is true Damon has done some major bonehead things to Elena her friends and her family. But Ian said in an interview that Damon is going to go through an existential crisis about how he feels/cares past the way he feels for Elena and more for all of mystic falls. He's slowly (and difficultly) going to start acknowledging those human emotions. Things are going to feel very heavy for him next ep. It's great to know Damon's going to continue to grow for the better.

In thaat tune there's a spell that lets vampires to get in but not get out.Bonnie dispelled it once with her grandma and all the vampires in got out(it wasn't planned but they 're power wasn't enough to put the spell back.

The only reason why DE shippers gets more shit than SE shippers is because DE is a much bigger, more outspoken fan-base. If SE's fanbase were as big as DE's then the same would be said about them, but they're not, so of course people go ahead and try to make it seem like the other fanbase is deluded to make it seem like their ship is better.

@SuperWahinetoa Well I think Damon's main incentive was to instill fear in Jer, rather than harboring any fatal intentions. In the aftermath of his impulsive actions and the consequences that they entailed, I just don't think he'd ever "turn the switch" in the company of Jer again. In fact, I theorize that Damon snapped Jer's neck because he assumed Anna's blood was still in his system. But that's just my own take.

@danixcalifornia15 Mmm.. it's hard to pin down Damons reason, I agree. Complex and compulsive at any given moment. I don't think he'd do it again, hopefully, but the ease at which he instills fear isn't really an incentive to do anything but get revenge. Like Jer tried to get later, like Mason did, Bonnie, Caroline, Bree. He should know better. Would Annas blood be in his system, I thought it would've passed out by then?
@SuperWahinetoa It was out of his system at that point, but from what I gathered, I don't think Damon was aware of that. Moments before he snaps Jeremy's neck, he comments on how Jer wants to be a vampire and how turning will take away all of his pain and anger. (something to that effect.) I think that in Damon's twisted frame of mind at that moment, he might have thought he was doing Jeremy a favor. I agree though, Damon should be more conscious of his actions. He still has a long ways to go.
@danixcalifornia15 Interesting thoughts.Damon was very angry coming from rejection to rejection, to then have Jer mouth off was not helping either. :D His comment probably gave him the idea to both teach Jer about not provoking him & a mssg to Elena he can and would hurt her anytime. Agreed, he's more conscious of his actions and it's a start worth fighting for. ♥
@SuperWahinetoa I think Damon threatening Jer was his way of maintaining as much distance as he could. At that point he was so overcome with self loathing that he wanted to be hated by everyone.
Yes, Damon has undergone such a milestone in character development. He has lot to make up for, but the effort and ultimately the motivation behind that effort is still there. This is why I adore his character to the extent I do. He has so many layers that peel off with each passing season.
@sylarishot Yes, Damon may have just as much history with Kat, but Stefan/Katherine's history together is of a different nature. Stefan's feelings were actually requited. Kat was more emotionally invested in her relationship with Stefan, so the two are incomparable. And if I recall, Damon still had unresolved feelings for Katherine until she ripped his heart to shreds. Damon at the very least, got his sense of closure.
@danixcalifornia15 It's not. Katherine came back to town 145 YEARS later and proclaimed that she was never in love with anybody but Stefan. In 1864, she was playing with both the boys. Stefan had no way of knowing that she was more emotionally invested in him. If anything, it was Damon she trusted her true nature with.

You might be right there. This probably isn't the most rational way to gain closure, but there is a lot of unresolved tension between Kat and Stefan. Considering their history together, I don't find their hook up all that random. Stefan is not exactly above making slip ups.
@danixcalifornia15 But, does it matter? Yes, it can be compared. Katherine never let her preference on upon either of brothers. Stefan had no motivation for thinking that she loved him more. Stefan loved Katherine without knowing what she really was, once he did, she compelled him. Damon always knew what she was and he loved her for exactly that.
If anything, the latter relationship seems stronger to me.
Stefan is above making slip-ups, especially of this kind.
@sylarishot Was it ever actually confirmed that Stefan's love was compelled? He suspects it was, but Kat denied it. It's still up in the air, but I think his feelings ran deeper than just the supernatural element. He was so enamored with her. And even after he was "enlightened" he still held onto her picture did he not?
@sylarishot I disagree. Stefan is not above flaw and error. He is capable of making mistakes and has on more than one occasion. While this is a whole other matter of self restraint, there is evidence threaded throughout this series that indicates Stefan doesn't have an iron steel grip on his self control. He is not by any stretch of the mind perfect. All the more reason I adore him.
@sylarishot What I mean is that it's likely Stefan still retains some feelings for Katherine. He's loved her for literally years. And as far as Stefan's flaws goes, I'm not equating that to this feelings for Katherine. What I'm saying is that he's not as perfect as people make him out to be. He's just as likely to have a slip up of self restraint as Damon. He's already lost control before with his blood lust. Is it so hard to believe he'd lose control in a moment of passion?
@danixcalifornia15 Stefan feels for Katherine, there's no denying that. But, none of those feelings would lead to this. He hasn't loved her for years, he has hated her and no, it isn't because he believed that she compelled his love, it runs much deeper than that. I always knew that Katherine would lead Stefan to the edge, but this isn't it. This is completely destroying Stefan's characterization. This is blowing up everything he stood for and lived by. He wouldn't do that.

Also, physically yes, he attacked bonnie, but in his eyes he was attacking emily bennett because she was destroying his only chances at getting katherine. And HE DID feel remorse after the jeremy incident. @TaylinParker1 I was unsure too about him seeing Bonnie, but then when the fire died, for a few seconds Bonnie wobbled on her feet, looking around her, disorientated. I thought he'd pick up on that, but I guess he was in a rage. Either way, same outcome. Bonnie would be dead at his hands. Damon and Stefan have messed up and both take accountability for that - I think that's what we all need to remember as well.

@SuperWahinetoa Well in all fairness, Bonnie's betrayal of Damon and Stefan (and indirectly Elena as well) on Founder's Day could have just as well resulted in both of their deaths. Sure, it may not be the same as if she were to directly try and kill them, but the intent for death was still there. I'm not justifying Damon's attempt at killing Bonnie; I just don't think this incident deserves to go unacknowledged either.

Unsure it was a betrayal of Elena, when she is the driving force into many spells Bon felt alarmed about doing. Intent wasn't their death, I think, but ridding Mystic of vampires, When she knew Stefan would risk his life for Damon, despite everything Damon was capable of, she stepped up & saved them. There's hope 4 them all yet. :)

@SuperWahinetoa Well I do think in a sense it was a betrayal of Elena seeing as how she cares for both Salvatore brothers and was under the guaranteed impression that Bonnie removed the curse for both of their protection. I think it was Bonnie's intent for both brothers to die, but only because she believed they posed a threat like the rest. So that said, I do think her intentions were good; just misinformed. As you said, she did save both brothers when push came to shove. I commend her there.

@danixcalifornia15 Elena cared for Bonnie too - she should've asked rather than assumed she would do everything she wanted. Elena continues to do it by pimping her out to Rose. Protecting the brothers wasn't Bonnies vow, the town came first. Yes, she handled it badly, but her choice was to save the town not intentionally hurt the brothers. Stefan she trusts more than Damon & shows it by being more compassionate to their requests. Hope to see them repay the favors with care to her as well. :)

@SuperWahinetoa I agree with you there. Elena has a tendency to take Bonnie for granted in how she expects her to perform witchcraft whenever she deems it necessary.
That's what I meant about Bonnie's intentions being in the right place. She felt she was doing the town a favor by not lifting the curse as she believed all vampires posed some sort of threat. It was good of her to step in and save the Salvatore brothers when they were in mortal peril. I'm sure that debt will be repaid some day.

wow, it really annoys me how all the SEers or DBers or anyone who is anti-DE keeps bringing up damon in the beginning. That damon has nothing to do with who he is now, the whole point of him being the "bad guy" in the beginning was so they could show character growth. And he DID NOT get jenna stabbed, his phone call with katherine had nothing to do with that, that was all because of SE's "rendezvous" in bed.

@TaylinParker1 I agree! Damon may have done a lot of evil in his time, but if forgiveness and redemption can be extended to Stefan, why not Damon too? At one time in his life, Stefan was just as lost and out of control. He can't undo his past anymore than Damon can. But it's who he is now, that defines him. The same rule applies to Damon. He's still struggling and while his efforts should not overshadow his rap sheet, he does have a stronger hold on his humanity now. He's come a long way.

@jlafferty23 The writer has no say? This series is an adaptation of her novels, and while it's clear the TV show is straying from the books and winding it's own path, I highly doubt they'd change details so large and significant. The triangle is the very core of the franchise to begin with.

When it comes to the brothers, since the beginning of the show they as characters have both changed. Because they are renewing there bond. And slowly making amends for things they've done to each other in the past. It's almost like knowing these two have issues just makes you want to be like "don't worry, it's ok" lol

@SuperWahinetoa It is true Damon has done some major bonehead things to Elena her friends and her family. But Ian said in an interview that Damon is going to go through an existential crisis about how he feels/cares past the way he feels for Elena and more for all of mystic falls. He's slowly (and difficultly) going to start acknowledging those human emotions. Things are going to feel very heavy for him next ep. It's great to know Damon's going to continue to grow for the better.

In thaat tune there's a spell that lets vampires to get in but not get out.Bonnie dispelled it once with her grandma and all the vampires in got out(it wasn't planned but they 're power wasn't enough to put the spell back.

The only reason I brought this into the picture is because it was in relation to Delena and what our beloved head writer himself stated. it was conformed by ian that the stefan/katherine cave sex is real. it doesnt matter what stefans plan and motive is.. it's going sever the bond between him and elena for a long time.. i think its about time for elena to get to know more about damon.

@o0DeadSpaceFan0o This is what Elena knows now: He brutally slaughtered her brother. Had no remorse about it either. He got Jenna stabbed. Viciously attacked Bonnie and nearly killed her. Abused Caroline. Killed Bree. Slept with Rose, HER MOTHER, thought she was as easy as Katherine, to merrily cheat on Stefan. Threatened her life, her family and her friends. Like that you mean?

@SuperWahinetoa Some of these accusations I don't find entirely fair. He did feel remorse for "killing" Jeremy. He apologized. It's no excuse of any sort, but he wasn't flippant about it. As for Jenna getting stabbed, no one is to blame but Katherine. She is the one that compelled Jenna to hurt herself. Damon only provoked Katherine. He couldn't have foreseen that. I'm not denying Damon's rap sheet, but I do think he's redeemable. And Stefan has committed just as much evil in his lifetime.

@danixcalifornia15 Fair enough, maybe I was a bit harsh. He did apologize to Elena not sure if it was for her sake or his because he threatened Jeremy again at the fair. But, I think you're right about it being Katherine too. I guess the arguing comes on how they respond to her vicious gameplay. But down to the wire, it's Katherine who holds the responsibility. Thankyou for such a welcome and intelligent reply, I really appreciate your thoughts. <3

@SuperWahinetoa Well I think Damon's main incentive was to instill fear in Jer, rather than harboring any fatal intentions. In the aftermath of his impulsive actions and the consequences that they entailed, I just don't think he'd ever "turn the switch" in the company of Jer again. In fact, I theorize that Damon snapped Jer's neck because he assumed Anna's blood was still in his system. But that's just my own take.
Likewise. I always appreciate an articulate, well delivered response. :)

@danixcalifornia15 Mmm.. it's hard to pin down Damons reason, I agree. Complex and compulsive at any given moment. I don't think he'd do it again, hopefully, but the ease at which he instills fear isn't really an incentive to do anything but get revenge. Like Jer tried to get later, like Mason did, Bonnie, Caroline, Bree. He should know better. Would Annas blood be in his system, I thought it would've passed out by then?

@SuperWahinetoa It was out of his system at that point, but from what I gathered, I don't think Damon was aware of that. Moments before he snaps Jeremy's neck, he comments on how Jer wants to be a vampire and how turning will take away all of his pain and anger. (something to that effect.) I think that in Damon's twisted frame of mind at that moment, he might have thought he was doing Jeremy a favor. I agree though, Damon should be more conscious of his actions. He still has a long ways to go.

@danixcalifornia15 Interesting thoughts.Damon was very angry coming from rejection to rejection, to then have Jer mouth off was not helping either. :D His comment probably gave him the idea to both teach Jer about not provoking him & a mssg to Elena he can and would hurt her anytime. Agreed, he's more conscious of his actions and it's a start worth fighting for. ♥

@SuperWahinetoa I think Damon threatening Jer was his way of maintaining as much distance as he could. At that point he was so overcome with self loathing that he wanted to be hated by everyone.
Yes, Damon has undergone such a milestone in character development. He has lot to make up for, but the effort and ultimately the motivation behind that effort is still there. This is why I adore his character to the extent I do. He has so many layers that peel off with each passing season.

@sylarishot Yes, Damon may have just as much history with Kat, but Stefan/Katherine's history together is of a different nature. Stefan's feelings were actually requited. Kat was more emotionally invested in her relationship with Stefan, so the two are incomparable. And if I recall, Damon still had unresolved feelings for Katherine until she ripped his heart to shreds. Damon at the very least, got his sense of closure.

@danixcalifornia15 It's not. Katherine came back to town 145 YEARS later and proclaimed that she was never in love with anybody but Stefan. In 1864, she was playing with both the boys. Stefan had no way of knowing that she was more emotionally invested in him. If anything, it was Damon she trusted her true nature with.
Yes, and Stefan needs his sense of closure. But, this is not it.

@sylarishot The fact of the matter is, that she WAS more emotionally invested in Stefan. Therefore the nature of her relationship with Damon can not be compared to that of her relationship with Stefan.
You might be right there. This probably isn't the most rational way to gain closure, but there is a lot of unresolved tension between Kat and Stefan. Considering their history together, I don't find their hook up all that random. Stefan is not exactly above making slip ups.

@danixcalifornia15 But, does it matter? Yes, it can be compared. Katherine never let her preference on upon either of brothers. Stefan had no motivation for thinking that she loved him more. Stefan loved Katherine without knowing what she really was, once he did, she compelled him. Damon always knew what she was and he loved her for exactly that.
If anything, the latter relationship seems stronger to me.
Stefan is above making slip-ups, especially of this kind.

@sylarishot Was it ever actually confirmed that Stefan's love was compelled? He suspects it was, but Kat denied it. It's still up in the air, but I think his feelings ran deeper than just the supernatural element. He was so enamored with her. And even after he was "enlightened" he still held onto her picture did he not?

@sylarishot I disagree. Stefan is not above flaw and error. He is capable of making mistakes and has on more than one occasion. While this is a whole other matter of self restraint, there is evidence threaded throughout this series that indicates Stefan doesn't have an iron steel grip on his self control. He is not by any stretch of the mind perfect. All the more reason I adore him.

@sylarishot What I mean is that it's likely Stefan still retains some feelings for Katherine. He's loved her for literally years. And as far as Stefan's flaws goes, I'm not equating that to this feelings for Katherine. What I'm saying is that he's not as perfect as people make him out to be. He's just as likely to have a slip up of self restraint as Damon. He's already lost control before with his blood lust. Is it so hard to believe he'd lose control in a moment of passion?

@danixcalifornia15 Stefan feels for Katherine, there's no denying that. But, none of those feelings would lead to this. He hasn't loved her for years, he has hated her and no, it isn't because he believed that she compelled his love, it runs much deeper than that. I always knew that Katherine would lead Stefan to the edge, but this isn't it. This is completely destroying Stefan's characterization. This is blowing up everything he stood for and lived by. He wouldn't do that.
