Okay for those who really dont know about Pharoahe Monch check out Organized Konfusions first 3 albums Organized Konfusion, Stress The Extinction Agenda and the Equinox. If songs like Releasing Hypnotical Gases and Stray Bullet dont change your mind just to name a couple you dont know what real hip hop is.
i recommend yall take a listen to "bring it on" by organized konfusion, you cant listen to that first verse by pharoahe monch and not recognize he is one of the most technically talented rappers out there
Pharoahe Monch verse was ass regardless! I don't give a fuck what Bob Dyland did before I was born! Ya'll geeks know shit about hip hop or lyricism. Close ya dick suckas!
@tpriest1914 Pharoahe's verse ass, lol yeah call us geeks, how is that an insult to us? that just proves you don't appreciate Hip-Hop or lyricism you idiot
@IEtherianSoul9 Awesome to see One Be Lo's name thrown out there. Dude is ridiculous. Intricate multl-multi-syllabic rhyme schemes, double/triple entendres, incredible wordlplay, etc. He's been my favorite MC to come out over the past 12 years or so. My buddies and I just hung out with him 2 weekends ago. Very cool guy.
Aesop Rock flows behind the beat and ahead...that's just another example besides DOOM and Monch...great album...my favorite rap album of the year so far...
not a lot of people can outshine phonte on a track but damn son PHAROAH!!!!!!!! hahahaha is too ahead of his time...he also outshined jean grae on her mix tape...dam pharoah..is beast no doubt in my mind fuck what you heard you irrelevent now
Proceed with caution, he strikes with force and of course
You need to borrow some sorcery with a cross to bear
And a culture enforcing the nuclear laws of North Korea
So awesome, when we morphing
Pharoahe, Tigallo
We go off, we throw off and
Yes yes y'all
Pharoahe lacking in this verse? C'Mon Son.... The best thing you can do is slap yourself, You should never judge anything Pharoahe does on a few plays, his rhymes require hearing not listening... like in white men can't jump :-) peace
Pharoahe checks the track what phonte has done and compliments it beautifully.. a, he adapts his flow to the beat, b, picks up the tone and matches the sentiment and c) checks certain parts of phonte's rhymes and offers his verse around it. this is incredible to think people don't see... golf, Microsoft - baseball, apple mac for eg...
How can anybody question Monche's flow on this song. I have to admit when I heard him spit like this I KNEW IT WOULD GO SO OVER PEOPLE'S HEADS. The dude IS on beat, it's a complex flow. Over, under and around the beat, trust me I know, I'm a session drummer. I think he outshines Phonte on this song and Phonte is on my top 3 rappers right now. LOL..... "f*ck chivalry I'll end a chicks career and Return to Forever I am Chick Corea"...Oh my Lord...I dare you look up that classic jazz album! WOW
pharoahe can spit on-beat/off-beat with blindfolds...you apparently didn't do your homework on how he flows...that's why he's so DYNAMIC...do you know the meaning of that word? check yourself....
@keziah1399 I find it amusing that when someone mentions that they don't like something a rap legend does that their credibility as a hip hop fan is questioned. I've been following Monch's career since the mid-90s and have liked a lot of his work. When it comes to this song, however, in my opinion, he sounds bad. "Legends" can underachieve occasionally too. Check yourself.
@sagesimpleton Part of Pharoahe Monch's whole style is spitting behind the beat. That's one of the things that makes him so dope and unique. Spitting behind the beat is one of the techniques employed by MF DOOM among other emcees. This stems from Bob Dylan singing behind the beat, and it works. Not everyone enjoys this style, and that's fine, but you need to respect it. Pharoahe is one of the most technical emcees of all time, and he deserves respect from anyone who claims to know about hip-hop
@sagesimpleton dude are you okay??? hahahahaha pharoah killed this verse, he put phonte on his ass on this one and not alot of people can claim to do that to phonte...this is probably one of his finest verses..fuck what you heard junior...
@remzrider107 this is hard to explain to novice listeners because most ppl don't understand the difference between flow and delivery...anybody questioning Pharoahe Monch doesnt even deserve a response...I mean come on be serious...that guy probably never heard of DOOM!!
@sliccmoufschalaa Yeah, I guess I'm a novice listener because I don't like Pharoahe on this song. I've only been a hip-hop head for 15 years so I obviously don't know what I'm talking about. As for Doom, never been a fan of his (unlike Monch, who I have liked a lot of his work). He's a clever lyricist but, to me, sounds like he just got out of bed. Every listener interprets songs/artists differently and to make assumptions about a person based on their "taste" or opinion is ignorant. Fact.
@sagesimpleton Its not an assumption and my intention was not to be offensive to anyone...15years of hip hop is a short time but I respect ppl that have only listened for 6 months. Its not about whether you like Pharoahe on this particular song...some ppl think roscoe dash is the truth its an opinion. But in order to be a wise listener you have to go through knowledge and understanding first...Pharoahe's trac record is immaculate its ok if you don't like him and most ppl never heard of MF Doom

Pharoahe is a legend and kills it on this track, as he does with everything he spits on. Anyone who has an issue with his vibe is out of their gourd.

You guys serious? Monch is terrible on this. I'm kind of wondering if he even wrote his verse to the beat. His flow is so off, it makes my ears hurt.
Dope album all around though. I was hoping for a little less singing from Phonte but, overall, this is a very nice album.
