How can anybody question Monche's flow on this song. I have to admit when I heard him spit like this I KNEW IT WOULD GO SO OVER PEOPLE'S HEADS. The dude IS on beat, it's a complex flow. Over, under and around the beat, trust me I know, I'm a session drummer. I think he outshines Phonte on this song and Phonte is on my top 3 rappers right now. LOL..... I've been following Monch's career since the mid-90s and have liked a lot of his work. When it comes to this song, however, in my opinion, he sounds bad. "Legends" can underachieve occasionally too. Check yourself.

@sagesimpleton Part of Pharoahe Monch's whole style is spitting behind the beat. That's one of the things that makes him so dope and unique. Spitting behind the beat is one of the techniques employed by MF DOOM among other emcees. This stems from Bob Dylan singing behind the beat, and it works. Not everyone enjoys this style, and that's fine, but you need to respect it. Pharoahe is one of the most technical emcees of all time, and he deserves respect from anyone who claims to know about hip-hop

As for Doom, never been a fan of his (unlike Monch, who I have liked a lot of his work). He's a clever lyricist but, to me, sounds like he just got out of bed. Every listener interprets songs/artists differently and to make assumptions about a person based on their "taste" or opinion is ignorant. Fact.
