Actually, since this channel is a German channel and the interviewer was German (my assumption), and Yankuvich speaks both Russian and Ukrainian, it was easier for the Interviewer to understand russian than Ukrainian because she probably did not know Ukrainian (ukrainian being a less spoken language than Russian) This is very common for even timoshenko and Yushenko for when they visit Russia, becuase in Russia, they would speak it because they know it and they could communicate easier.
