  • Gives me hope for my heel toe skills to one day reach this kind of level!

  • this is slide technique!

  • You are a fucking pro

  • Lots of lame jealous drummers making stupid comments... Heres one drummer thats just plain jealous. Keep it up man!

  • nice this is awesome

  • coolio

  • Thats really amazing!!

  • this is slide man , amazing , u have taken slide technic to a whole other level

  • I LOVE the way your kick drum sounds. What is that?

  • some swivel mixed in..

  • wow

  • thats pretty damn fast

  • ooooh shit! D: i wanna learn this

  • ya sloppy alright....... -_-

  • wat kinda snare do u have ?

  • holy shat

  • ohhhhh myyyyy fucckkiiiinnnh goooodddddd

  • at 0:32, isn't that Swivel technique?

  • aren't those iron cobras?

  • @MrBitchesBitch dw9000's i think

  • @bored1356 i think there 7002s 9002s are silver

  • @bored1356 whooops nevermind i looked closer they are 9002s springs are on the inside

  • he has alot of control!!!

  • awesome

  • i like how you dont keep ur beaters like an inch away from the head even tho you use triggers. thats like the thing that really pisses me off about a lot of metal drummers. its like they arent even hitting the drums anymore. just lightly tapping them

  • i love how the camera cant keep up with your badassness

  • After a minute of quick drum double kick I have a lot of pain below my knee.I am a new drummer and please reply that happens to you too?

  • @IronHideGR I used to get this, after a while it'll stop happening. I used to get the worst pain in my (shin? schin?) but i dont get it anymore. just keep it up and itll be gone in no time

  • Holy shit dude!!!! NIce

  • great sound

  • triggers

  • @licr8

    wow

  • what kind of bass drum head you using, it sounds great!

  • How much practice do you think it took you to get this fast?

  • roll starts at 1:02

  • That's not heel toe that's swivel mixed with slide.

  • wow dude your bass sound so much gooood!!:]

  • Awesome man! Was this triggered? Both? I could not tell but it sounds awesome!

  • mad prop's man

  • are your DW's evenly measured? i cant seem to do it with mine, my right pedal feels heavy precise and powerful, but my left pedal feels weak and slow, can you show us how to get equal power pleaseee? :D

  • @TehSeanRadcliffe By using 2 single bass pedals on 2 separate bass drums.

Even with the best double bass pedal, you'll never get a left pedal that has exactly the same feel as the right pedal. Just because of the friction in the joints etc

  • yeah okay, in some cases you COULD say triggers are cheating, but in this case, deffinately not. you can either use triggeres for more powere i.e volume cause your beaters arent coming back far enough e.g tap drumming, but you can see that his beaters are comeing back really far, therefore he's only using triggers for consistency, or maybe he doesnt have a mic, shut up, its real

  • @TehSeanRadcliffe Saying triggers is cheating is like saying a guitarist using an amp is cheating. Triggers are a necessity in death metal!

  • @gseeber1 i know, you see, in this video his strikes are consistant and powerful so he wouldn't need triggers, but what about the dummers who make the beater come like a cm away from the head, but use triggers as though they are fully fledged strikes, THAT'S cheating :)

  • @gseeber1 Yea triggers were made to be helpful not to be claimed as cheating. The only thing i think you can declare cheating is a triple kick pedal.

  • looks more like a swivel variation when you get up to higher speeds. still good though.

  • good job man, but that looks more like a slide technique not heel-toe

  • what workouts you do for left speed?

    can you make a video?

  • Is heel to toe done R Heel L Heel R Toe L Toe? or is it done R Heel R Toe L Heel L Toe?

  • dude that sound is so awesome!

  • how long you train to do like this perfectly roll

  • omg, such a nice bass sound. what type of head you using??

  • love how ur still getting the full beater motion but it sounds sloppy in some spots. still..worlds better than me

  • minta dude!!

  • Absolutely... amazing.

  • Sick im trying this all day now :P

  • i think he hates color black, lol!

  • Its not heel toe, its toe heel haha

  • porco dio..

  • amazing man, this just goes to show that you dont need axis pedals or demon drives to go this fast

  • @threefiddyone actually you should be saying is you dont need longboards/direct drive pedals to go this fast.

  • @threefiddyone this is dw9000 its meant for speed

  • @threefiddyone well he IS using DW9002s...

  • @threefiddyone who the fuck need axis or demon drives to do 220 bpm?

    i can do 220 with STAGG's....

  • Comment removed

  • @threefiddyone trust me dude.. axis pedals or demon drives dont make you faster.. they are just pedals.. its only a matter of taste.. but yeeep this guy has a great technique

  • @threefiddyone Hell yeah, man. Gene Hoglan uses some old Camco pedals from the 80s. It just takes practice.

  • @threefiddyone But you need heel toe to do that. :/

  • @threefiddyone yupp just good ol dw 9000's lol

  • @threefiddyone Too bad he's using the top ine DW 9002's

  • keep up the hardwork

  • First off...after watching this video at least 4 times, it has come to my attention that he appears to be using a "hybrid" type of technique. Kind of a heel toe/sliding technique...dependent upon the pattern. Either way, hes got amazing foot work. I have been working for quite some time on the heel toe AND sliding technique and haven't quite come to this level yet. Also---triggers...good for some...but not for everyone. Depends on style of music and personal taste really. Great Video!!

  • sounds like a typewriter

  • @cweezy928 i agree

  • @cweezy928 You could type on metal with this powerful a typewriter :D

  • that's sliding technique dude

    you have awsome foot

    lol ^^ \m/

  • no its heel toe. as you can clearly see he drops his heel to play the 2nd beat. go look it up man

  • Heel-Toe is when you drop your heel to do the 1st kick, not the 2nd, and he's not really dropping it either, it's just what happens when you slide your foot up the pedal; your foot has to move that way in order to slide up...This is clearly slide technique

  • @Marvin24241 either way, i think its still damn nice. no offense.

  • Very impressive^^

  • que buena tecnica! ;)

  • @affirca77

    dude triggers arent fake

they make EACH hit sound like a full on power stroke, so if your a death metal drummer and have to go so fast you dont have the energy/time to put lots of power into each hit, you use triggers.

they are bassically making an acoustic set into electric,

  • thats right!!! grettings!!!

    alejo.-

  • @howycwap exactly

  • el mejorrr¡'¡'''¡'

  • dw 7000??

  • 9000

  • 9000.

  • OVER 9000

  • THAT'S NOT POSSIBLE

  • @ReeceRAWR

lol do you not understand "over 900" and its original context?

  • what kinda bass pedal are u using, and what beaters?

  • looks like swivel

  • Yeah u use the pad of your foot for both strokes, u raise your heel, drop it but use the pad of your foot then raise the heel then use the pad of your foot again, Thats how i do it, better in my oppinion then actually hitting the pedal with your heel, more comfortable too. I like your method =P.

  • are the beaters backwards

    wouldnt that break the pad?

  • no it makes it more clicky (Y)

  • i dont think thats heel toe. thats more of the slide technique

  • its the same idea though. find your way and go with it

  • amazing !

You use heel and toe without using your toe !!

  • Awesome bass. Who needs compin with tight beats like that

  • 9000's or 5?

  • 9000

  • 9000s cause the springs are on the inside

  • and the spring is connected to the cam

  • he isn't even doing heel toe. this is really amazing. he is doing flams with 1 feet without even using heel toe! wtf i must practice

  • Are you usings triggers? Because it sounds sampled to my ear

  • or you could just use the double kicker you have

  • Could someone please explain what exactly he is doing so I (for one) will know what to work on. I.E. At the start he does the Toe/Palm dbl stroke, but when he starts to play it through (at 0:17 sec) he starts doing the swivel thing....right? So he starts doing the toe/palm but then he goes to swivel....right? I tried the toe/palm dlb strk this fast and no way, but the swivel.....YEP! Am I missing something? (Please no assholes....I know how lame this sounds)

  • Ok dude, the best possible advice I can give you which worked for me is... Go look up "Derrick Pope - Heel Toe" It's an 11 min long vid, he does a brilliant job at explaining it! I got mine to about 160 in 3 hours of trying! Good luck!

  • If something stinks it's you....because your the shit! Thank you for getting back. Your vids make me want to practice or just give up!!!! LOL ( Thanks for the Derrick Pope tip )

  • Nice, consistent too. thumbs up

  • quick question. is there a way i can get my bass drum to sound like this, with out micing it and stuff? like, just so when i hit it, it sounds more like this no matter what. mic'd or not. i've tried a lot of things. or do i just have to do that in the whole mixing and editing process?

  • He uses a trigger but ask him how he sets it up.

  • i've always wondered.. what exactly do triggers do? i've never really been interested in them

  • They make the sound more clear and decent. It also helps you to hear the bass in gigs. But you can also "cheat" with triggers if you set your trigger to high sensitivity and tap the pedal fastly on the head so you can get nice, loud and even hits with no power. But the actual purpose of triggering is to make the bass drum (or any other drum) sound nice and even.

  • You could also be like Flo Mounier and learn to play cleanly without triggers.

  • Ye, I was just telling him what triggers are because he asked.

  • Yeah I didn't mean to sound like a dick, sorry.

  • Flo does use triggers.

  • a slide technique

but i like the video less talk more action

  • so damn good, fuck quad kick when you got this or do this with quad kick lol

  • i personally think the dualist's pedals with the two beaters on one pedal is cheating :p thats just my opinion on them haha.

  • I like how this guy doesn't say a word. This guy makes this look easy.....but I have a feeling he's a bad-ass.

  • yeah not really, he is using to pedals thats why its called double kick not double bass, double kick meaning it being on one bass drum and double bass meaning 2 bass drums

  • what kind of pedal?

  • DW 9000's

  • any tips on fast double strokes?

  • how the fuck did u make ur bass drum sound sooooo GOOD ?!

  • triggers

  • nice job - but bad shoes

  • rad

  • The sound is not recorded well or the drums sound like a really nice typewriter but this drummer is really playing that fast.

its all about the heel toe doubles.

  • it's not heel toe it's a slide technique

  • no waythe sound is so fake.

  • it's called triggers

  • my bad

  • dude no matter how hard ive tried i cant do drumm rolls.

p.s your bass drum sounds ace

  • whats the sequence of the feet?? help me pls??

  • wow that blanket sure really knows how to move it!

  • nice sound

  • i dont know if this is so much heel toe as it as slide techique but damn i want your pedals!

  • WHAT HEAD DO you have to your bass drums??your sound is perfect!

  • his bassdrum is triggered dude ;) it's an electronic sound

  • man that's the most sickest beat i've ever heard at my life so far..

  • you must be as old as this comment then.

  • lol...

    ^_^ don"t make me laugh

  • holy fuck are you doing flams with one foot? fuck me, i'm gonna go practice.

  • wiw..that was verry cool...damn

  • i haven't the foggiest how to drum, but this looks hard...and sounds cool....and if i had a kit, i could merrily do that all day :0)

  • nicely done, but that isnt the heel toe technique, thats the slide technique

  • @utubeisghaie Yeah. Heel toe would be much more active on his feet. Heel toe would make the strokes more even, but slide is the least energy expending, imo.

  • Hey, i notice your actually playing toe then heel? do you find it easier this way also, how do you find it suits the length of !

  • Comment removed

  • maybe hes better at this than joey lol

  • Good stuff bro, well done, keep it up!!!

  • i can't perform that technique... Apart from my muscle hurting cause i have to lift my foot on the air as long as i play also my feet doesn't slide on the pedal it stux... Maybe my shoes are very sticky??? any tip?? PLZ!!!!!

  • well fags have another problem... they CAN'T have a normal dialog... they just throw insults everywhere whithout any particular reason and ofc only from distance.. i hope this makes you feel strong cause i bet you wouldn't dare to tell anything like that in person... The safety of the distance internet offers helps become so "brave".. So when you grow up and finish school come and have a dialog with some1.. till then better play with your playmobile toys

  • lol i can no read wah u saay i miss my turtle im an internet thug buck nasty holla

  • Ignore Reltih..thetwat... You handled yourself well against him, that is why he has a minus thumb rating.

You don't need to hit the pedal with your heel or slide your feet for heel toe.

Imagine a solid foot stamp down, and when you are going to lift your whole leg again to make a solid stamp, hit with your toe to create the double stroke.

    Peace.

  • i think i understand what you say... i will practice on it!!! thnx!! :D

  • was that at all nesecarry?

  • he wasnt mad. he handled that really well, and made you look like a complete fag. your the one with all the thumbs down.

  • omg dude.....ur amazing !!

  • holy shit dude....

  • awesome !

  • Isn't that reverse heel toe?

  • hey man thats so cool, is the pedal tension loose medium or tight?

  • loose in these videos, but I have tightened them up since then
