@crazylegoproductions The gameboy advance version is very similar to the iPod version. The original version is available via the Wii virtual console, but otherwise the only way to play the game in its original form is to get the NES cartridge or emulate it.
Great review! As far as the ineffective attack thing, I gotta say I had no idea what was going on at first. When I figured out what was happening, it was a wtf moment. But as the game went on, I actually came to appreciate it to a point. It adds a little bit of strategy to random battles. Automatically redirecting attacks allows you to just keep pressing A till the battle is over, while you eat a slice of pizza with the other hand XD
@MrWtaplin That's a good point. While it can be a frustrating mechanic, it can also provide an engagement that most jrpgs lack in random battles. Thanks for watching!
Hah. great stuff. I got the NES and agree with you with about remakes, but the PSP remake (newest one I believe) for ff1 fixes some of these problems in the combat and what not. Like you dont miss if the enemy is dead.
@TwinGrimm Yeah I'm a bit hypocritical when it comes to my position on remakes vs. the originals. I can't really explain why I like the NES version better... because in reality the remakes do fix a lot of flaws that existed in the original. For whatever reason, originals generally tend to hold a certain charm for me that remakes fail to capture. This isn't always the case, but in this case that's how I feel.
looking for final fantasy 6...i happened to randomly find your vids...and u r one of the best FF series reviewers i ever found....Subscribe...and keep it up man :D
@PseudonymPlayer That particular song comes from the Final Fantasy Symphonic Suite. It's the third track on the album, which is a compilation of several songs from the first game. That section of the piece is a re-composition of Matoya's Cave from the original OST.

That was an extremely well made review. Great editing, great dialouge and overall very entertaining. Also props on reviewing the original NES version.
I'm really surprised how this only has 1000 and was put a year ago.
