Back in 86 I lived in Nashville and me and some of my guitar player friends heard there was a jazz group playing at a club and we expected to walk in and hear some sappy kind of stuff and we walked in and there was the Stan Lassiter group blowing the roof off this little club super loud intense heavy rock/jazz fusion...our jaws hit the floor and I think we all considered selling our equipment after that. I couldn't believe I had never heard of him.
@5Cirrus That's the beauty of Nashville in a nutshell - you go into any number of clubs on a given night and the best players in the world are on stage - it really spoils you - in a great way that is.
Yeah, yeah, he's amazing. And no one in Nashville gives a damn. Epic players like him are everywhere in "Music City" and they struggle for gigs. Stan kills every gig, too. And folks in Nashville think Kenny Vaughn is just the sh*t. It's sad.
