  • Hey i got that for christmas and i'm doing 3D!!! Impresive for a 10 year old huu. :)

  • I have this plane and hated it at first because i bent the prop shaft on my first flight. It was a rough landing. But ordered a gearbox for it and i love it now.

  • 2:20 LMAO "SUNSHINE!!" :D

  • i love how val is always making comments and nobody responds :P

  • DUDE YAKS ARE AWSOME I HAVE A 100cc YAK 54 and 30cc yak 55m :D God there beautifull to fly smoootht and hard 3d u just dnt get that flying style

  • your sidekick guy always says "yeah"

  • you guys are fun to watch

  • well...... that looks areobatic

  • with a big fat plane like that, you bolt on a BLoutrunner what kv and what prop?about a 1800KV and 8" prop?

  • Could u please tell me?? what's a mustang fast 3 like? I just bought 1

  • put some washout on the wing tips will improve it 100%

  • what size in runner would you use

  • why are you in oregn

  • lol the end was so funny when you were talking with the high voice thing lol

  • hey mr scotini (not you dave) shut up if he has trouble with that he does better on a heck of alot of planes plus i bet you cant even fly a yak can you?

  • where can i get one?

  • For all u retards the reason that Dave can't land is bcs the plane it jumpyjumpy and twichy

  • actualy to land a yak you have to land softly the front wheels than turn off the motor to land the tail whith the elevator a lil up to stay on the ground.(like a real one)

  • i have this plane.. easy to fly man :)

  • do they work for at&t

  • im buyin it

  • LOL the yak does the stanky leg on the second take off!!

  • Lols at 1:17 for a moment i was thinking that the plane is powered by fuel

  • haha me to

  • val can sing

  • extra is better because its free free is better

  • no rudder i saw none

  • Dude, it has a HUGE rudder, I have this plane, and the surface area is huge and throws it around a lot.

  • learn how to fly ... --.--

  • You laugh at yaks, but you ofering a yak pdf for free. thats kinda weird. P. S. nice vids!

  • no they're offering an Extra (American YAK) lol

  • Dual rates would be nice.

  • that thing flys kinda funny

  • you suk at landing

  • well i think ur gay

  • i think your a retard

  • that plane is fast

  • I have an Extra300 and it's made of wood... when you land so bad with my plane it' s a very shit bexause it break down.... buy a real plane

  • hey someone please help me with this. I was taxing my plane on the ground, and the radio glitched, the plane ran into m cabinet, and the prop dug a hole in the cabinet. Now whenever i run the plane at low speeds the prop shaft wobbles slightly, but its un-noticeable at half throttle and full throttle?

should i replace the prop shaft or is it ok?

  • the shaft might be loose, if its tight then replace your shaft, even if changing your shaft didn't work then you bent your motor shaft

  • it is my shaft, its too loose, i had 4 screws taht came with the motor, and i lost three of them, so i tightened one of the screws (they were hex screws) and then put another screw in, a philips head, it doesnt screw in too well so it remains a bit loose when im flying. do oyu know where ican find these screws, they are hex screws and they fit onto my turnigy outrunner.

  • Order the screws from the company that makes the airplane

  • danger place to fly...

  • nothing better than a GREAT YAK !!!!!!

  • too normal? you can't fly it

  • yak 54 rules, thats how i learned heli's tail control, stunt mode duel rates, with enough power the yak can and will do it!.. keep it up

  • onwned a rc airplane b4 but crashed due 2 servo failure. i'm mad keen and still have my 46. motor but need a new radio. can pay 4 spec dx7 or jr dsx9. witch would be beter? I am going to be with the hobby 4 a long time.

pls anyone reply soon hoping 4 opinion

    Nater

  • as long as youre flying planes, the DX6i is the best option, DX7 would beb etter if youre planning to fly heli's later on, but the DX6i is by far the cheapest, best value for money option. Its respected radio.

  • get a mortor 40oz trust and put it on a starter plane

  • I've flown a real yak. not the 54 but the 52 which is a two place much bigger version of the 54. they handle like an rc plane and we treated it like one too. ;-)

  • dave what u should do is switch the gears large 1 to the motor small 1 to the prop shaft it will give u a hell of a speed boost

  • That will give you one hell of a burned out motor.

  • why?

  • the motor will draw too much electricity and the insulation on the wire windings inside will melt away, or if the motor has lots of plastic that will melt, or ur speed contoller will burn or turn off. Many bad things can happen when u put too much strain on the motor

  • "sunshine!"

  • Well actually, Yaks are some of the most stable and greatest flying 3D machines. They look a bit ugly, but fly AMAZING. Put in some expo on the highrates and it will fly much better. If I was in control of that plane, I would be hovering it 3 inches off the deck :). Also, it has plenty of power on the stock setup. Putting in a larger motor would make it heavy, therefore making it more touchy, which no one wants ;)

  • dffdgf

  • Pretty cool.

  • Dave I have a question, is JR compatible with sepektrum, I mean If I have a Spektrum dx6i and I want to buy a JR reciver, can I bind it ?

answere me in my channel please

    THANKS!

  • yes, i have dx7 with some 7ch JR RX,

  • They aren't compatible.

  • TAKE IT TO A FIELD!!!

  • I'm now in "YA" Yak Anonymous

  • I think you should just buy a new plane and scrap that peice of shit

  • It's not touchy, you're just a n00b and dont know how to fly a 3D plane. This plane sucks, anyway. It has a LOT of wing rock, and tip stalls whenever you put it in a harrier.

  • i love yaks! especially 50cc ones.

  • that plane is sooo ugly!!

  • good vid!

  • haha, nope cowling is not important.. i smashed mine to bits. My yak is more tape than foam right now! but its a decent plane, i agree though.. the motor is crap.

  • NOT VERY HARD AT ALL

  • Hey how many planes have you ?? :D:D

  • You said it yourself.... "Let's go find a field", yeah I couldn't help noticing the pissed off guy walking up his driveway behind you. Hey, where did you guys get the helium???

  • did you practice on a sim first??

  • yak yak yak, funny 54 ha ha nice plane, believe it or not thats how i started learning to control the tail on heli's yak 54 stunt mode! very nice plane my favorite!

  • why does he want to put a gyro on everything thats just saying that he can't fly it

  • LOL

  • Yeah I'd say you should go for a bigger field this friday Dave, I think it'll be a nice flight even though it's got an inrunner.

    Wanna see a "loop-de-loop" ;)

    Mat

  • This exact plane (yellow) was my first four channel plane. I'm a heli guy. But i felt it was way under powered, and at high speed the air movement around the cowl makes an awful howling sound. Other than that its a fun plane when the winds die down.

  • I've got an Art-Tech Edge 540 which behaves pretty much the same as this (in fact the wings and tailplane look pretty much identical). I went against all advise and bought it as my first R/C plane, and yeah it's as twitchy as hell but if you drop the control rates right down then it's not too bad, I now run mine at full rate.

You need to land with about 30% power on and cut it just before touchdown to avoid destroying the prop

Would love to see where you take this next, esp with the motor

  • It looks tail heavy

  • at the end, Dave sounds like Stan Marsh...

  • dude just a comment on all the videos.. your wife shoots really well and its really hard to follow a flying plane zoomed in..

cool videos and more power! hehe..

  • oh thanks dude. :)

  • So true. People take good photography for granted- I have a lot of appreciation for nature photographers who zoom in on flying birds for long distances, etc.

  • RCPowers ROCKS!!!

  • "his back wheels coming off" and "sun shine" easily best parts of vid

  • Yeah I had the same problem with my SC... Way to speratic...

  • awesome vid

  • u shuld of buzzed the kid

  • LOL That would of been funny

  • i love yaks nice planes until you crash landed XD

  • get an acromaster instead. best foamie on the planet full stop

  • The reason you don't fly a Yak is not because it's too normal you just don't have the skill needed to fly it lol, seriously though that motor is plenty powerfull enough, you can prop hang with that motor, the reason it's not as instant in throttle changes is because it is geared.

I agree a brushless motor would be a good upgrade but i would learn to fly it stock first if i was you before i started spending money on it.

P.S You need those big movements when it's in the prop hang.

  • PS to see it prop hang watch this watch?v=XTGGe11soJw

  • actually scratch that last comment, nose is wrong

  • yak? looks like a cap 21 to me

  • can it hover like your 3d yak u made

  • i thought the scooter thing was a plane starting up lol

  • @QuiCkS15 me too

  • would u say this are a gd begginer plane?

  • No not at all.

Check out some of the other videos Dave has and he has a few good ones to start with. But not this plane.

  • i started with that plane, but i did some sim first. it's kinda hard to fly when it's windy, and be careful on the roll, trim that down as much as u can.

  • This was awesome. That plane is cool. But I like the additions you are going to add. But after you tweaked it just a bit. I could tell by watching you had total control over the plane. That is awesome how long you been flying them that with just a few adjustments it was flying like it should. I hope you all there have the best weekend ever. This is the best Channel ever and that includes whats on regaler TV. God bless you all and your families.

  • I thought you could spell

    i can easily :D

    just kidding

  • Same here, after 10 years of flying, i still have a foamy YAK kit sitting in my wardrobe ;-)

  • Nice durability testing on this plane. We now know it can fly in tight spaces as well as soak up some hard landings. great vid as usual!

  • Dude just a note - is flying in a residential area like the one you just flew in legal?

  • That was a fun video.. But just so know Yak is something my cat does at 2am on the hall floor.

  • I was thinking "a gyro would do this thing good" even before Dave said it. Great video guys!

  • just a tip :

you get much smoother low speed turns by turning with the rudder and elavator ....

and making very small inputs on the aelerons

  • hows this for a first plane? i have been practicing on aerofly sim for about a month now pretty much only flying the yak i can do any 3d stunt imaginable but i dont wanna think i can just fly this thing with no problem just cause i can do it on a sim cause ive never flown a real rc plane.

  • Dave

you have guts when I first saw you were trying to fly the Yak in the street I said this is going to hurt :(

I would never fly a 3D plane without Dual rates the only down fall with most these stock kits is the radio I think causes most of the problems.

  • HAHA! another good FRIDAY RC SHOW episode...

PS: where do you sorce your Helium from?

    PSS: GOOOOO BLIZZARD LOVIN IT

  • Awesome video Dave i looked forward to see those upgrades you going to do to this plane? 5 stars!

  • You can use Dual Rates, but you can also use more expotential. Also, you might want to come in on the landings a bit smoother. That gear isn't going to last with carrier style landings. Lol.

  • Dave:

    Nice flying. Another great video.

    Bill

  • wow it did a split on 3:05 i think it could apply for cheer leading lol.

  • Yes, it is nice to see Keith. Great video none the less. Keep it up Dave.

  • my friend is earning her pilots lisence, and was lucky enough to actually get to fly a YAK. she said it was wierd since she's only ever flown a yoke plane before, and its different with a stick.

  • Maybe try it with a radio with expo-possibilities..? :)

  • Good to see ol buddy Keith again !!!!

  • LAWS ? we follow no laws

  • sweet, but sold out, lol.

  • IT is so nice to see "The Bearded Man"!! Did you say YAK? LOOKS like a winner if you put more power into it.. VERY NICE PLANE guys.Don't forget the onboard cam on the next flight.

  • Sunshine. <3

  • they have already reviewed the f4

  • Do you not have laws that dictate where you are allowed to fly rc aircraft?

  • sunshine !

  • That plane might be small but ive seen a guy hit 103mph with one, needs alot of space.

  • Deff had a brushless set up or nitro

  • Brushless and lots of carbon parts.

  • nice yak. just wondering where do u guys fly meaning what state and hopefully Maryland. go Terps!

  • Palm trees in Maryland? Hah! I wish!

I used to fly in Maryland before I moved to Virginia. Check out my flying videos - they're all in Maryland.

  • maryland? did you see the palm trees?

  • Dave and Co are based in Cali if I recall, they fly near the rose bowl all the time.

  • Woohoo!!! Keith is back, lol. Keep bringing keith to your shows. He's awesome! haha. Cool video Dave. Thanks.

  • Great vid once again so unrehearsed and natural, keep up the good work.

  • hey could yall try the F-4E Phantom EDF RC Jet from nitro planes

  • I think I remember them doing a video on that plane already,

  • Oops no, I just looked it up, it was Nitro Hobbies that did a review.

  • ha, check our past vids ;) it was one of our first reviews.

  • nice plane, but it's to heavy, u deffently need an outrunner. Also try expo(i know you don't like expo, but on a model like these u need expo).

  • Val make Dave put some shoes on

  • i love the last part hahahahahahahhahah thank you val for bringing me laughter

  • I get the feeling you enjoy crashing almost as much as you enjoy flying.

  • lol, you`ll also like the sukhoi su 26 and extra 300. finally you`ve flown a "real" model... get some more training and you`ll love it even more.

  • The man in 2:12 looks like the guy from Warehouse 13

  • SUNSHINE!

  • What state do you live Dave?

  • I think he lives in CA

  • yes hes in CA

  • More airplane videos!!! more, more, more!

  • why does everything need a gyro? Iv got some REALLY touchy planes, and there not that bad if your good enough to fly it

  • YAH Keith is back .. good to see ya keith..

Dave is so used to flying Deltas. it is like getting back on a bike after years of not haveing one. I agree dual rates help so much. I love being able to dial my controls down.

The Apprentice I got I have to use dual rate alot.

Great video Dave. Our fun guys back in action.

    BruceM

  • lol yaks are so easy to fly in my opinion

  • gyro gyro gyro

  • That's very unstable. What makes it to lose control(if I wouldn't touch the dials)? It's weight?By the way, that would be nice,if you would do an Friday video of that plane with it's modifications, that would be fun! Five stars.

  • It's instability is caused by many purposeful aerodynamic and physical characteristics that make it more maneuverable. It is often used as a a stunt plane to perform aerobatics.

    Adam Yak

  • Yes,smad333 is right ,dave.

  • Ok,thanks!

  • it needs to be made out of better and tougher materials

  • welcome back keith

  • Pretty cool!

  • DAVE with sharp knife?!?!?!?!?!?!?! oh noes

  • HA!

  • I recently got one of these - a great model. You don't need dual rates, you need expo! I have a couple of vids up of it flying.

  • Keiths back :O

  • are those heart tattoos? no tank tops allowed! 2:10

  • KEITH!!! Nice to see him back. I wouldn't recommend flying so close to houses, from personal experience. I lost control of a styrophone plane doing the same thing and it crashed through a double pane window of my neighbor's kitchen when she was making breakfast. You can be the perfect pilot, but all it takes is something you don't have control over to ruin your day. Don't try this at home kids!

  • you should have done some 3d stunts

  • dave if you wanna like yaks you should fly the Extreme Flight 88" yak

    best plane i've ever flown

  • I have a Extreme Flight Yak 110" with a BME 116 Extreme on KS cans. Seems a bit overpowered. But still very fun to fly.

  • Sunshine ;-) now i don't think i could get away with flying in the street like that as i would bond to go into someone's window or something silly like that lol,but what a couple of sweet landings Dave and i thought you did really well in that tight area=5*

  • you should of got a typhoon 3d

  • lolthe ending with the faster voices was freakin funny xD

  • "Can I borrow your sharp knife?"

  • lol that's some quality landing gear!

  • True, it is hard to control Yaks! One thing that I did a lot before flying my Yak 55 is that I practiced a lot with other Yaks in the simulator... Believe that will help you a lot!

    .

    ~DLPlanes

  • you can get all your artf planes cheaper frm bananahobby if you wanna save time + money =]

  • dont lie to people banna hobby does not save you money just go directly to the distributors website you fucking retard stop advertising for someone else that fucking rips people off

  • nice video, Dave. Great work.

But you need way more space to fky that plane. In such a tight area it's like a tiger in a cache.

I had recently the posibility to fly a real YAK52 and to fly that plane is really hard work, I can tell you. It's reacting on every little stick movement.

And your YAK seems to react just like the real thing though lol
