  • original version is better.BeeGees

  • I'd travel back to the 70s just to have her haha.. looking back you always see pictures of "1970s-hot-girls". We all know the current generation has the kind of hot girls, no other generation has EVER seen. Yvonne, you were "ahead of your time" sweetie. Gorgeous here :P

  • Nice to have this "Rare live recording" posted. It's such a pleasure that she is so great each time. Some of her songs she "owns" and no one. Period. will ever top what she has done. And of course some of the JC Super Star material is her's alone and as timeless as The Beatles.

  • Ethnicity =/= Nationality.

  • What happned to the sound??

  • she's from hawaii actually...

  • @johnfudencio All of you guys are putz-es. She's half irish, half jap-chinese mix. No native, no hawaiian...tho I'm sure there's a mix of everything in everything these days

  • wow..she looks great in that pic...

  • she'a filam

  • I rad she is Hawaiin, and she looks like it! Beautiful

  • poor sound.

  • I am part asian , caucasian , negroid , polynesian , semitic , rastafarian, antiquarian and bulgarian .

But I still like Yvonne Elliman.

  • I've had transistor radio's with better sound quality

  • American, Japanese, Chinese ... what matters is that she was beyond beautiful, a great voice

  • Elliman good be Jewish.

  • She isn't Filipina at all. Wiki her. She is American with an Irish Father and a Mother of Japanese/Chinese descent.

  • She is a Filipina/American

  • The IRISH HEART in her is what you hear! The rest is just bonus.

  • It would be nice if you could hear the music.

  • Explain what.

  • What a strikingly beautiful girl.... I mean really....

  • great video great audio (said with sarcasm)...0 for 2

  • beautiful girl and a great voice!

  • I looked her up too. Her nationality is american because she was born in Honolulu, Hawaii. Her r a c e is Caucasian white and Asian. Her ethnicity is Irish, Japanese and Chinese. Mostly she is a beautiful woman and a great singer.

  • Daddy! I miss you so much! Even though I gt my ass beat, I deserved it!

  • Eric Clapton Did her big time!! Look it up. 'Slowhand' had fast 'Fingers'

  • @rleary1 Is their any female in the entertainment industry Clapton has not done lol

  • god she was so pretty, just like the asian girls in hawaii

  • Asian girls are HOT

  • @bintitabby I Want the Irish part.

  • she's part really hot. :P

  • Good live. Hot photo.

  • I think her natinality is gorgeous.

  • @spock8131 .......Amen brother....That is what her Nationality is.....gorgeous..

  • she was from Hawaii

  • Her father was of Irish descent, and her mother shared Japanese and Chinese ancestries.

  • she was so pretty! what nationality is she.....does anyone know?

  • Her nationality is American. I found out by typing "Yvonne Elliman" into Google.

  • LOL......High Five dude.....

  • @biffodio Her nationality is half Irish, quarter Japanese, quarter Chinese.

  • @LeftWingJohn You're confusing nationality with ethnicity, which are separate concepts where she was born and raised. You can't be one-quarter of a Japanese citizen.

  • @biffodio You are correct, you cannot be one-quarter of a Japanese citizen, but you can be a quarter of Japanese nationality, which is what I said. Citizenship is a legal construct, and nationality is a cultural construct that transcends state boundaries.

  • @LeftWingJohn Again, I'm using American definitions for an American woman. Yvonne Elliman in no way belongs to the nations of Japan, China, or Ireland, and it's patently impossible to belong to nations in fractions, as you suggest. Culture and nationality aren't interchangeable, not that anyone can be one-quarter culturally Japanese. Go back to your first post and replace "nationality" with "ethnicity." It'll make perfect sense from all angles.

  • @biffodio Her ethnicity is a mixture of White Caucasian and Oriental.

Her nationality is a mixture of Irish, Japanese and Chinese (as she said & wishes to be known as).

She is a citizen of the United States of America.

According to strict definition via the use of the English language, the USA is not a nation, but a state, the inhabitants of which came from nations, although I accept that Americans may find it difficult to accept this, in the same way that I find it difficult to be European.

  • @LeftWingJohn You can either own up to the mistake or keep trying to bend reality to protect your ego. It makes no difference to me because the facts don't change. There's no such thing as one-quarter nationality by any accepted use of the term, although I guess any foolish argument can make sense to someone who creates his own definitions. Why don't you make a list of all the nations that aren't nations and send a complaint to the U.N.

  • @LeftWingJohn Incidentally, "Caucasian" means "White person," so "White Caucasian" has a redundant adjective. And Asians find the term "Oriental" offensive when used to describe people. That's especially true of Asian Americans like Yvonne Elliman. Of course I'm assuming you have your own definition of the word that isn't insulting at all. Anyway, don't bother with another silly response; I won't read it.

  • @biffodio Indians are Caucasian, but not white.

If you can't handle a debate, don't start one.

  • @LeftWingJohn waht? not the same thing. please explain.

  • @LeftWingJohn Indians are Mongoloid meaning Asian origin. Indians migrated from Asia.(hands out)

  • @rufus317 You're right, American Indians are mongoloids from Asia, but I was referring to Indians from India, who are caucasian. Who cares anyway, Yvonne's great

  • @biffodio Her background Japanese/Chinese and a small part of Irish

  • @biffodio Her background Japanese/Chinese and a small part of Irish

  • @biffodio So you are saying Yvonne is Native American?? No wonder!!

  • ...what a honey is still Ivonne Ellyman so sweet and charming and her songs are going to survive me...
