I think you need to clarify how you define "mind" and "consciousness."
I'll just guess that you think "mind" is just mechanical habits and "consciousness" is what happens when the brain is unoccupied by a specific task; thus allowing the unconscious mind to drift.
@LuminousCosmos Haha, I just realized I did too towards the end but then when I watched it again I actually heard and understood everything he was talking about. So does this prove that you can still be connected and daydream too? Yes! But I do agree with what he's saying though.
I love listening to young people re-inventing the wheel, and then preaching what they've discovered.
"Daydreaming" has long been understood to be THE most creative aspect of "wakeful" human consciousness ... and has led to the vast majority of inventions.
While it can be said that, "Necessity is the MOTHER of Invention", most assuredly, Daydreaming is it's Father.
Makes sense, I pretty much live in my imagination and I'm an artist. Most of my inspiration comes from random imagery and ideas I will create when I'm just sitting around bored, usually waiting for a bus or something.
does his nonconformity to social norms hurt your feelings? is an overweight guy with dread locks really that big of a deal? christ, the tiniest little quirks set people off...
@ProtagonistNonTheist "What's with the giant ugly thing with dreads?" ... probably meant as a joke, a troll in fact, to poke fun at all the people who will jump to his defence as a knee jerk assertion of political correctness ... that big guy reminds me of a younger Alan Moore.
I bet your daydreams are rhetorical.

People are stuck in "mind". They are completely blind of what's happening inside "consciousness"... something like that.

One annoying thing about daydreaming is that you can wake up in a public space with a hard on.

@grizzzlyjoe Macgyver is the father of invention, sorry.
conkt 1 year ago
@conkt Your right... If I were MacGyver, I'd grab a jug of Milk, a hair pin and a bandaid, make a Time Machine, and go back to change my comment.
But then, you wouldn't have made your comment, and I wouldn't be typing now ... I'm getting confused ... and starting to daydream.

political correctness is far less of a problem than people who are too dumb to understand the concept of individualism.
