@HarryBeast1990 you need an HD video editor. Any of the latest versions of video editors out there will do...if the video editor does not support the AVCHD format then you cannot edit the video in that editor.
you can do basic video editing on the YouTube video editor.
If you are familiar with Linux, there are free video editors like: Avidemux, Cinelerra, Kdenlive, Kino, and LiVES to name a few of the popular ones.
I don't know of any free video editors for Windows, though, there are some inexpensive ones like: Vegas Movie Studio, Ulead Video Studio, Premiere Elements, and Powerdirector which are pretty cheap, especially during sales, you may get them for under $50
@DeAn02095 yes it does 60i, no it does not do 60p...a simple explanation of the difference between the two is that even though both are 60 frames per second, the 60i is "interlaced" meaning every other line is recorded, meaning as much bytes are recorded as would be recorded by 30fps at 30p, whereas 60p records all the lines, meaning it occupies twice the space (accordingly more processing power)...quality wise, some people notice the difference, others don't seem to.
@PotatoPlop no...though SD cards can compel you to lower the quality on the camcorder, because the sd card is running out of space. An SD card is not like a roll of film, it is like a hard drive, except without the moving parts. So you can store high or low quality movie/picture files depending on available space. If you take high quality movies, space will be used faster than if you take low quality movies.
@mattcurrie97 afaik iMovie 11 doesn't support native editing of AVCHD files which are created by this camcorder...although after doing some research it seems that iMovie converts the AVCHD files (in this case .MTS file type) to AIC file format and then lets you edit it that way. This should all be seamless to the user, apart from the annoyance of organizing your .MTS files but iMovie 11 not taking advantage of your effort, because it converts it to AIC and dumps it into a folder, afaik.
PLEASE REPLY! does the memory card effect the quality?? and what editing system do you use? i put the video of the cx-110 on Windows movie maker and the quality sux.. so yeah, i think that may be the memory card???
@americangirllover300 The reason the quality sucks is because you're using Windows movie maker. Its the software not the hardware. I use Sony Vegas to edit videos but there are a lot of other HD programs out there u might have to spend some money though.
yoo mr know byte. is it good for making movies with it. im talking abut a professional one. is it better then the dslr of nikon which they also make full hd. is nikon full hd better or this one.
@SKULLxSNAPS if you meant battery life, my experience has been that its around two hours of recording with the included battery (depending on brightness, and volume settings it can be more or less)
@moodi666999 That's what I was thinking... especially when he talked about focusing and later pulled the camera from the box. Must have _two_ of the same camera. :)
hey i was thinking about bying this camera. i do skate videos and edits and wanted to no if this could have a fisheye on it. also if it can have a fisheye do u have to have an adaptor or will the fish eye fit stock thanks
does anybody know if this camera is okay in weather that involves moisture like snow? i want to get this camcorder for recording snowboarding videos, but i need to make sure it can handle snowy condition.
@cjlaxman38 this camera does not seem weatherproofed. But its so small (for my hands at least) that I am sure there must be a weather proofing option available for it somewhere. I am currently working on a detailed review of all the features of this camera. So please subscribe, so you don't miss it. Thanks.
@makeupbymollyh I personally have no issues with it. If you watch the video you will see at many places how the auto focus works. I am currently working on a detailed review of all the features of this camera. So please subscribe, so you don't miss it. Thanks.
