  • DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN!!!!!

  • Man, fuck you Dis-likers. 'Nuff said.

  • The guitars sound like shit...

  • They get a bit TOO "Dillinger" on this cover with the crazy math tapping, but it's a solid cover.

  • i dont listen to the melvins much and dillinger is one of my favorite bands but the original cant be covered

  • DEP is solid. Covers a bit boring.. But I wouldn't wish this song on my Moms Melvin's tribute band...

  • Comment removed

  • you have to love both bands to love this song. Enough said for all of you with a negative attitude towards this jizztastic cover.

  • big like ,, vocals are great.. this is honey bucket by dillinger,, thats all..

  • baaaaad idea. no one covers the melvins because this would happen.

  • @augustburnsdave Actually, Isis and Mastodon did great covers on this album.

  • I friggin' love D.E.P., but I have a problem with the vocals, I mean, relaaaax dude!, not everything in life is hardcore!!!

  • This version sucks! sounds like a bunch of kids trying to shine, totally sucks!!!!!!!

  • It was all going well into those vocals came in,... ugh,...

  • I think Mastodon should be the only band allowed to cover the Melvins. They did an epic job with The Bit. Oh, and I guess Fantomas too, seeing as Buzz is in that band.

  • this cover doesn't sound bad, it just wasn't necessary... wait, there's the vocals. I don't like it :x

  • @nicrat I felt the exact same way

  • Melvins r my favorite band and i really like this cover. DEP put sort of a mathcore/ experimental metal spin on an already awesome song

and if u think this was a bad cover, check out the miley cyrus cover of Smells Like Teen Spirit... IT S FRICKEN HORRIBLE

  • this is a bad fucking cover. the drums sound so thin and weak. actually the whole thing sounds thin and weak and then the vocal are just horribly mixed. epic fail.

  • I think it's a very good cover, they've kept a balance of making it their own and sticking to the original

  • kinda weird how if you pronounce DEP as a word it sounds like Depp as in Johnny Depp who has starred as Dillinger.

  • @TheJayman213

    wow thats deep bro

  • yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeah...no

  • The original is the best, but this is a solid tribute.

  • this version is weak.

  • Check out ubermonks the guy sounds just like him

  • dunno which drummer this is but considering how awesome DEP's drummers are, the Melvin's drummer on the original is way more appropriate and cool

  • stupid...

  • This is an insult to The Melvins.

  • @FastEddieSpeaks no doubt. this shit sucks. im all for tributes but they have to do justice to the original. this dosnt even come close.

  • Oh my fucking god!!! The hell gates is opened......

  • raw

  • I love both bands, but it's weird, Greg's voice isn't very typical of him in this cover. Ah well, it's still cool to hear.

  • esta chingon este cover

  • Wow, this really shits all over the original version with pointless added bullshit. The random dissonant melody added to the main riff and the overly-loud vocals are just awful.

  • Awesome, whose comparing DEP to post-hardcore and commercial screamo? bettter not be, they're a fucking worthwhile band. So is Melvins, DEP can't beat them at this, but amazing nonetheless

  • 1. Sure this cover isn't as good as the original, but that's normal! Covers are NEVER better than the original!

    2. Don't compare DEP with any of those screamo bands!

They're the complete opposite, since they actually have talent, otherwise Mastodon, Meshuggah and Mike Patton wouldn't listen to them...

I agree, the vocals are kinda hard to swallow but once you get used to them, it sounds great.... I love the Melvins and I think it's a nice cover, it's different and that's something good!

  • This is nice.

  • wow, trippy as hell!! I like this cover

  • lol this is good in its own right. it's honey bucket with a SERIOUS dillinger escape plan twist

  • crap

  • u guys are fuckin stupid. DEP and Melvins are the shit. they did an awesome cover

  • What a pish cover!!! It's not even played right.

  • @adamreid2009 a cover is an interpretation not necissarilly a remake, besides who could play this song better than the melvins ... no one!!!!!

  • dude i love grunt vocals but this sucked ass instrumentally was the shit but fuck those stupid teenaged boy sounding vocals....

  • Words cannot describe how much I dislike this cover.

  • DEP doesn't deserve to cover the Melvins

  • I don't understand why everyone hates this? The mixing and mastering isn't too good, but it's a great cover. I actually love everything about this cover.

  • I am a huge DEP fan but this is one of those songs that never needed to be / should be covered.

The original is a fucking freight train off the tracks that I would not mind being killed by.

  • @TheeFinchLynch Agreed in full.

  • Yea absolutely Butchered. This is worse then that limp bizkit cover of tool.

  • @LocalYocal13

oh my god, limp bizkit covered tool? god i don't even want to look that up, it must sound like... god it hurts to contemplate

  • Goddamn this, I sometimes like The Dillinger Escape Plan, but this sounds like fucking Slipknot.

  • Fucking terrible.

  • I actually like the rendition of the instrumentals, but the vocals SUCK! These guys were way better off with dimitri and/or patton on vocal duties.

  • what the fuck is the shit at 0:34

  • Terrible. A.C. said it best about these guys: Gay bars were original once too.

  • butchered.......

  • wow, the AWESOME, GODLY, MIGHTY riff of this song is totally ruined...

not to mention the emo vocals

  • emo vocals? pffff

  • @wooboy11 Emo vocals? I wouldn't recommend saying that to Greg's face. He's an absolute tank.

I'm a huge Dillinger fan, but this cover just doesn't sound right. The inclusion of their math-like rhythms doesn't work well for the song.

  • This is horse shit. Fuck the dillinger escape plan. Only good cover on this album is mastodon.

  • DEP do brilliant covers!! really honouring tribute :) check their GnR my Michelle cover, it's sick!

  • you right but their jesus christ pose cover is not brilliant

  • god......this is a horrible cover

  • you sort of have to acquire Dillenger's timing,

I thought it was well done, true to DEP's timing but, at the same time, this song was and is perfect by the Melvins, DEP has balls for trying though.

  • Weak. F'ing. Sauce.

  • Fucking hell, when will people learn, there a certain bands you can't cover.

All this bunch of children has done is try and ruin a good song.

  • i wasn't a fan of most of the covers on this cd but the mastodon cover of the bit was solid, man.

  • No offense, but Dillinger are one of the few bands I'd trust to cover something by the Melvins.

  • @WayToTheGrave

I wouldn't trust anyone. There is none like The Melvins.

  • @TheGearsKeepTurning

    I'd trust DEP and Boris.

  • I think this cover is sick.

It doesnt rip off the original. and It has it's own sound... And thats the way all covers should be.

  • I saw Dillinger in Kraków:) They were amazing:) Yea fuckin Hardcore!:)

    The Melvins is huge:)

  • Decent cover, it's different anyway.

  • i don't like this kind vokals, but instrumental is ok

  • Eeep. I love DEP but this didn't work for me at all. Considering the original is such a classic, a cover version of it needs to be something special or a complete re-interpretation, not a badly produced mess with wrong sounding vocals. It sounds like they had a quick go at playing it in a rehearsal room and happened to record it. Half the riffs aren't even right.

  • goddamn. fuck these vocals! everything else is fine. you don't have to change your voice to make you sound badass. i mean, just listen to the original.

  • wow somany people dont like this cover its amazing they pretty much played it like it was there song

  • eh, it was ok until the vocals came in

  • i'm diggin it

  • I like this cover just fine, think its nice and fuckin loud. The original still rules too. Chill out you boners

  • the drums are good, but theyre just too overpowering. the guitars sound like theyre being put through a paper shredder... im not even commenting on the vocals.

  • even If you were my mom telling me I'm a great guy I wouldn't agree with you more. I'm all for free expression and unbounded interpretation and people covering songs as they see fit but I think this is awful. Despite it being loud it lacks that certain "thickness" that the Melvins sound has. Your comment is right on.

  • yeah i mean there are lots of covers of songs that are better than the origionals, but when it comes to covering anything like the melvins and turning it into this... gah i dont know...

  • couldn't agree more.

  • that was fucking horrible... how dare you disrespect the Melvins by butchering this song? Dillinger is only good if Mike Patton is doing the vocals anyway

  • Yea, sorry, I don't mind DEP normally but the vocals make this cover sound retarded.

  • wtf is all this people talkin' bout ??? this cover is fuckin' brutal !!

  • I am very surprised with these comments, and disagree with most of them.

  • they ruined the Melvin's best song

  • no love for the crazy bands

  • hmmm...

  • TDEP are an absolute joke of a band lol.

Melvins should've found a better band for this imo

  • Yea, the lyrics are horrible. I don't mind screaming but it doesn't work here.

I think the melvins version sounds better too. Sounds like they are trying to hard to sound badass.

  • This cover sucks, but not surprising, seeing it is by a shitty band.

  • fuck these screamo vocals they killed the melvins song

  • It's not screamo. That's not even a real music genre, lol

  • amazing cover. i think i liked it a bit better than the original. i quite liked the vocals though it seems most people here havent. i am a fan of dillinger as well as the melvins though

  • I quite like this cover, it's got a very different vibe, but a good cover makes a song sound like the band playing it, not the original. While it lacks the oddball heavyness of the melvins, it replaces it with some high octane precision. The vocals are personal taste, I like greg, he's a very good performer, and can do more than scream, though I can understand how purists would hate it. It's very clean and clinical.

  • this version rocks harder, but the Melvins version is still, WAY better

  • its better that evergreen terraces cover of hums stars. the vocals did kill it, but kudos for playing the melvins

  • Sucked.

  • Hmm.

Maybe Mastodon should have done this one, too.

  • LMAO brutal...but yer right

  • Fuckin rocked till the vocals started....

  • I had to admit it wasn't THAT bad, but it was bad. The vocals, as you said killed it.

  • Don't really like the cover but i respect their effort and have gained more respect for them since they covered a melvins song :)

  • I agree witcha on that, the instrumental part of the tune was great but the vocals really assassinated it. The Melvins were not a thrash metal band they were the hard alternative rockers that laid out the ground work for grunge. The vocals just didn't mesh up with it at all, still nice try.

  • The Melvins were the first sludge band.

  • Is your name derived from Electric Wizard's ...Come My Fanatics album?

  • Yes.

  • @bews522a best dom stoner band fucking evvvar

  • @WizardInBlack147 nope. look up saint vitus. and before saint vitus, black sabbath, (some songs)

  • @WizardInBlack147 u can t say that unless u were there when sludge metal was first created

  • @WizardInBlack147 i still consider eyehategod first, but without the melvins sludge metal might not have happend

  • @FunkMastaMegaFlex and the vocals in this tune are simply badass. fuckin great version

  • who's doing the vocals on this track? Greg Or Dimitri?

  • dick bag dragonwix. "this sounds mainstreem..." you are a fucking embarasment to any body with a fucking brain. you fucking ignorant inscesting (you prob fuck your family) 12 year old, someone needs to cut off your head and barf down your throat, then take your ear drums and give them to a deff child, so the gift of listening isnt wasted on such a pathetic excuse for a human being. go fuck yourself.. if your still thinking of music as "mainstreem or not main, GROW UP! art is art. shit is shit.

  • I dont hate this....i kind of like it. But does not create the same atmosphere...i mean The Melvins version is possibly te heaviest song i've ever head along with funeralopolis by electric wizard. This version just sounds okay.

  • the intro guitar bit sounds like a ringtone, but I like the vocals.

  • haha, my scene friends give me shit for listening to Melvins, wait titll they hear their FAVORITE BAND cover them!

  • dillinger escape isn't scene

but yes melvins and tdep are both sick

  • i know, but they think these guys are "br00tal" or whatever, haha, my bad!

  • I think AFI are brutal. Just kidding. They suck. Stop listening to them.

  • i havent liked them in 4 years, just tellin ya

  • @WizardInBlack147 Old AFI (Black Sails etc. is bad ass!)

  • No, they don't. Plus they're ten thousand times more talented than AFI.

  • ...haha fuck your scene friends

  • is this a live cover?

  • melvins 4 ever

  • This sounds mainstream ...

  • its like a dream come true,.... thx god

  • this cover of honey bucket sucks

  • thanks for the upload!

  • this shit rocks

  • what?????? what ever happen to keeping it real?? This is awful, i'm a firm believer in some songs should never be covered and this is one of them. All the crazy little hardcore notes at the beginning. I'm sorry but DEP stickk to "hardcore"

  • Its a tribute album you dunce. Nothing wrong with a new school knuckle grinding version of Honey Bucket. The originals still being played, dont cry.

  • What about Melvins' cover of Going Blind?

  • Uhhhh....What do you mean what about it. You shouldn't just say things without having a message to get across.

  • realmofzion said he's a firm believer that some songs shouldn't be covered. I asked if he feels the same about Going Blind, considering it's off the same album as Honeybucket.

  • I love this song

  • very good

  • Nothing was copied and pasted.

  • one of the most influental punk bands in history (melvins of course, i still like DEP)

  • cool shit!
