The cure is simple, 'exotic' and radical; do away with all forms of usury. As an atheist and someone opposed to Islam (and other religions), look to Sharia-banking for the cure.
In a recession, we need big government to invest in our infrastructure thereby creating real jobs for the unemployed and ensuring that we're ready for private business to pick up again when the recession is over. It's what we call "buying your way out of a recession".
It's quite striking to see workers leaving closed private construction sites to go and work on road, rail and public building projects, instead of going on unemployment benefits and losing their homes. I like big government :)
I think we would all be in favor of big govt if they had their own money to spend, the problem with big govt is that they take money from private citizen to do their contructions and big projects. Money that otherwise could be used for other productive ventures
And the reason why its better for private citizen to spend the money is
So do you see private citizens investing large sums of money (I mean $billions) in infrastructure projects like road, rail, police, military, judiciary, schools, healthcare, etc.?
Which of these public services would you like to reduce, eliminate or put in the hands of private corporations?
And what other productive ventures would the majority private citizens like to do with their taxes instead?
Ok, this is going to be a shock to you cos i believe that taxes should be used for military, law enforcement, judiciary, roads and maybe schools.
The healthcare is really none of my business, see theres a reason we pay state taxes and that reason is to maintain, build state wide infrastructure and run the state.
Also I would like to see the defense budget cut by 90% just to a few billion above whatever china and russia spends on defense.
I don't understand this fear of "big government" that I hear a lot of Americans talk about in the media. As far as I understand it, western European countries have big government. We have big spending projects in infrastructure and services that are designed to make everyone's lives easier and more productive.
After all the smoke clears and the current illusions that bind us increasingly become exposed, the masses will once again take control. New courts will arise should any renaissance of our current system fail, and imprisonment is exactly what happens while the guilty awaits his or her fate. Whether it be biding their time for their head to roll or just waiting for complete liquidation of their assets.
now it sounds better, you are putting the option of the death penalty in your words.
But sort of drifting from the topic, your predictions of "masses taking back control" sound a lot like 1776 to me. Good, but degradable, thus 233 years later look at how we are doing.
I was fashionabel to lose $/£ 700 million ever since "Leason" did it back in 88. Everyone kept losing 700 million like it was cool or somthing. Assets and debt are passed around for convieniance, as and when required to make the "returns" favourable or otherwise. The world rolls its eyes now at the millions, so billions must ne lost cos it makes a bigger splash. All the books were cooked (to attract investors) Banks no longer trust each other. Bye bye budget.
The Banksters got all the money. Why would they try to start up the economy? A collapsed economy offers very low prices of infrastructure for them to buy up. From there they can do what ever they want... BANKING IS EVIL, UNETHICAL AND CORRUPT!
And to add, The monetary system established by the federal reserve was designed with corruption. It's a giant ponzi scheme. Money is created out of debt. If there were no debt, there would be no money in circulation. Also, the system was designed for the debt to never be paid back. The sheep don't realize this. It's a lose lose...You can't win unless your the top 2% that controls the wealth.
Thank you for the very correct elaboration. It's a shame most people still think the Federal Reserve is part of the Government. It is and always has been a private institution designed to make big money off unsuspecting countries.
Access can be quite different , but what about it?
That is the problem when people can't do anything for themselves and have everything handed out to them. I would expect the USA's general population to be much worse off if our nanny system collapses.
Hardly anyone gardens and many people don't even know how to cook their own food.
Have you visited a 3rd world country your perception of "living standard" will change if you haven't.
The American living standard is artificial because of the counterfeiting of money for the last 100 years.
To me "living standard" is how hard is it to access and how expensive is food, water shelter.
"Hardly anyone gardens and many people don't even know how to cood their own food" - It was planned that way, since 1913 the US has been on an agenda of subversion by outside forces.

More socialist crap from the Real News. You'd think the network would realize how people have woken up to the fact that the failures in the economy were born of "regulation," government interference in markets and the manipulation of the price of money.
WE see through the lies. I watch people wake up to the fact that most of our "free market" isn't free at all. It doesn't take a economist to see the entirety of regulation that already exists. Try reading the full body of SEC regulation.
"imma nut," you're full of crap... "born of regulation"? gimme a break! The whole arrangement is a sham! There are no guaranteed benefactors any more either - regulated or not. No matter what Obama does with or without the congress the world economy now is the major factor here. There will be no "recovery" for America in a FLAT world economy; there will be only concessions to lower standards of living for the majority and thus a widened gap between the very wealthy and the very poor!
The problem with most "progressives" - me included, circa 2006 and before - is that they think "the problem isn't government, we just need to change who's running it." But big government doesn't work. Listen to some of the arguments that the anti-federalists made. When you have Big Fed up there soaking up your federal tax dollars, who do you think is going to be attracted to that power. Statesmen? Hah! It's the human condition, man. We're flawed.
Right, you mean the "Community re-parcelization Act." Lovely little distressful piece of Eminent Dom(a)ination! It's just proof the frontier is involuting back into the "settled" nation! Manifest Destiny has morphed into the Reflexivity and Cosmtic surgery of a Nation of "Distressed" Communities! It's the propagating condition!
An economy is providing GOODS AND SERVICE, so long as the U.S. thinks they can sustain an economy without providing the worlds market's with anything, it will always fail. It doesn't matter how regulated or how substantial it's financial institutions are effective. A country with no industry and massive debt will fail in a global economy. Unless something drastic happens, they'll fade out to the productive/industrial nations.
Thanks for stating the propaganda's side for us. This is exactly what they want you to say. The only thing missing is the truth beneath. The Federal Reserve System was designed from the start to rob our country blind. This is the failure you speak of. All the rest was to hurry it along...
Get rid of the Federal Reserve, and you get rid of the problem.
With a gold standard back in place we would rise again as a strong economic country. But your right we do need to address more issues such as the war machine. The military industrial complex as it is known, Is merely used to carry out the elite's agenda. This too needs to be dismantled. Big Government is a noose around the neck of freedom. So yes it's not just one thing, but the first step is abolish the fed. This would open the gates to the return of America as it was intended.

conservatives pretend to be all free market and subsidize like crazy. To Ron Paul's credit he seems to be genuine in his belief.
Though it won't work.

Look at what people do, not what they say. If they say they are fiscally conservative and then start subsidizing things, they obviously aren't.
The same holds true for any representative or politician of any party.

um..if the economy doesn't recover, those assets which you claim the banks are trying to buy will become worthless.
There is plenty to critsize when it comes to our banking system, but you need to understand basic economics before you start throwing stones.

Put the US into Bankruptcy Reorganization or you can forget any kind of living standard.
The US Fed Note does not meet the definition of money.
Go visit a 3rd world country now so you can get used to the living standard.

What is a "living standard"?
I feel my living standards are met with food, water, and clothing.
Everything else, including a house, is a luxury to me.
I envy some of the people who are living in India and other places where an entire community is built on permaculture and self sufficiency.
I see something very wrong with Los Angeles. I want to move out when I get the chance.

Have you ever traveled outside the USA ?
Have you ever visited India, Thailand, Cuba.
Those countries mentioned are their coverage of basic living standard the same ?
Food, water and clothing yes the basics but depending on which country you are living the access can be quite different.
I see America going to 3rd world living standards even though they have had 1st world standards handed to the people on a silver platter.
