The "stolen generation" is a myth. In the past half caste Aboriginal children were not removed from their families to "breed out" their Aboriginality, but rather for their own safety and well-being. These are the same reasons the govt removes Aboriginal children from their families today.

@ningli11- If you had a happy experience being accepted by your full blood grandmother then great, but that does not change the fact that there are major problems within the aboriginal communities with regard to substance abuse, sexual abuse and alcohol related domestic violence. Most serial killers may be white males, but it is still a fact that Aborigines are over represented in the criminal justice system. The stolen generation myth should not be used as an excuse for bad behaviour.

What do you call "mistakes" is the usual way of thinking of all world's cultures today - except the West European one. Our Achilles heel is that we are the most advanced, we see our former behaviour from today's perspective, and eat humple pie for our former "sins" - which all other cultures would see as laughable.
