This is a good video, but...racism still exists. And maybe it isn't legalized explicitly, but laws against teaching multiculturalism (instead of only white history) and deporting people who "look like illegal immigrants" are just a few ways racism still exists...the failure of the mainstream gay movement/ culture to recognize that racism (and classism and sexism) STILL EXISTS alienate gay people of color, gay people who are poor, gay women, and people who are transgender.

I don't think the term sexual "preference" is incorrect. None of my preferences are choices. I don't decide to like red more than blue, or coffee more than tea, I just do, aren't those considered preferences. I kinda hate it when people say that the Gay Rights Movement isn't anything like the Civil Rights Movement. What? Now that you have what you want, you don't care anymore? They're similar. @MariaMSGuerra: In America, when a male goes to donate blood, one of the questions that they ask you is if you've had sexual engagements with members of the same sex since the year 1977. If we say yes, then we're not allowed to donate blood then or ever and our social security is submitted into the program so that we're flagged if we ever try to. It's very similar to how the Pink Triangle was used as a source of embarrassment for homosexuals during the Holocaust.

Do you know how badly the African Americans were treated in the 1900s.People used to frequently kill African Americans in the early 20th century there were places African Americans couldnt go, only white people were aloud, they were paid astronomically less than others, were less likely to get jobs and in general they were looked down upon by the mainstream population. i know that gays are not treated as they should, but don't compare these two issues because they are very different

Only 21 states prohibit discrimination based on sexual orientation in employment, only 31 states have a law that addresses hate or bias crimes based on sexual orientation, and in 2010 alone 18.6% of victims of hate crimes were attacked because they were homosexual. That 18.6% only includes those victims whom are in the 31 states that acknowledge it as a hate crime & if it gets reported to the police. How are these issues different?
