Sorry, but I have not used any arrangement of Crazy - it needed to be in Eb to match section D of Fig Leaf rag where it is interposed. I just made it up as it developed, trying to put in some of the passion which should be there with Crazy. I have not counted them, but there are probably only about 4 or 5 chords in the whole piece, and I purposely have the camera showing my whole hands from directly above, so that others can copy what I do in lieu of printed music. I hope this helps.
the lack of synchronization came as it uploaded to You Tube, and you have doubtless noticed that it was getting progressively worse as the song went on. The synch is pretty good at the beginning. The video file on my computer at home is perfectly synchronized all the way through, but I am not about to upload it again. Best way out is to close your eyes to listen after the first segment.
I know what you mean about the 'c' section. My hands are just barely able to span the moving octaves, but the rest of that section just takes practice. Love your embellishments. THANKS for taking the time 'n trouble to upload this. Keep on ragtiming!
@ElproFi111 That would be "Crazy" -- hence the title of the video.

You're brilliant.

good version of this rag...and your technic is brilliant, i know that joplin songs could be hard to play because of the difficult chords...
5*

begin to learn them by hearing out how they have to sound ;)

Now if this isn't entertaining - in the way in which a stand up comic is without being just silly - then nothing is.

haha, did he just insert the "Crazy" part into the rag? Or did Patsy Cline instead get her idea from this rag?? Either way, nice play!
thesix107 2 years ago
Yes, that is 'Crazy', interposed between repetitions of the 'd' section. Btw, Willie Nelson wrote 'Crazy', but Patsy made it a hit!

it's called finesse. Most of Joplin's work requred a quick left hand. Maple Leaf is a good example. This guy has perfect piano hand... etiquette?

Not bad. Your hands didn't quite sync with the music, but the overall performance was good (if not a little slower than Joplin intended). 4/5
