wow !!!! i am 17 years old and i am playing the cello for 11 years...it's my life i love it..and i've heard many recordings of all the great cellists...and you have nothing to get jealous of them.....REALLY Great congratulations!!
Literally the best playing I have ever heard in my whole life. I've been to opera concerts and listened to their cellos. Those cellists had nothing compared to this guy. His playing is pure talent. The vibrato is amazing and literally everything was perfect. I played for eight years and just recently stopped playing. This makes me want to start playing again. You play beautifully, I only wish that I could one day sound that good.
BRAVO!!! well done...its so nice to see some honest, deep, talent. im truely impressed and touched. the first time i watched this i cried. its truly truly beautiful. How long have you played? is this your profession?
Im so overwhelmed. absolutely beautiful..well done!!!
Wow Im a violist and I play the 2nd suite as well but I love the way you played it so powerful and the way you make it darker right on the proper spot and you have such a nice color when you play and to interpret Bach is not easy even though we are still really far from Bach genius as musicians we do our best to keep him alive...
Thank you very much for your video.Your performance is excellent. I am studyng this suite, too.Casals said that each suite of Bach takes its character from itsprelude: for Casals the Second Suite have a tragic character.I agree with this, but for me this prelude is something more:the music goes direcly at the center, at the excence of the sound,in an unique way. I hope to see in concert in Italy. With my best regards.(P.S.: Excuse my bad english).
fantastic! I'm currently learning the Prelude, Sarabande and Gigue from this suite, and the Prelude is proving difficult. This is a mighty fine interpretation, great job! =)
Well done, I really enjoy the prelude to the 2nd. I have no negative comments only appreciation for a talented musician. How long have you been playing? Just curious, I'm wondering how long I have to play to sound as wonderful. Though I believe I almost there........I think.
thank you so much for your appreciative comment! it is my 22nd year with cello. I am certain though the quality of the performance depends mostly on the quality of the practicing time not the duration of it.how long have you been playing? and what's your system of practicing? do you have any recordings of yours?
One of the most interesting and captivating performances of this period! When I heard you Piatti #3 I was worried about what I might get. You're one very gifted player with an incredible command of the instrument. I'd love to seem some "non party" recording and n color too. I think the Piatti lacked some clarity and felt a bit rushed for my liking but technique was faultless. Maybe you have too much technique? Brilliant.
FIRST PART Thanks for compliment!I was not aware it was being taped and because of this permitted myself certain exaggerations.I play much clearer for the actual recordings.Piatti was performed fast because of 2 reasons:a)I had to capture the attention of the audience,b)Do you know anyone else who can play it that fast and with such articulation? Is it possible to have too much of technique? I have no answer.. But it reminds me..
SECOND PART..But it reminds me of the dilemma "if it is possible to have too much money..."My cello performance technique is based on the response on the repercussion impulses from the instrument,as if I would be "playing tennis"with the cello.I do not command the performance,as others do;I play a game with the instrument...By the way, Mr.Heifetz loved playing tennis.. And it is according to him "There is no top. There are always further heights to reach"
Apologies about what I said on the technique. Heifetz is my idol and love his playing and he's probably the best technician in instrumental history.
Yes I can see exactly what you mean about the party situation.
You strike me as having the technique of a Yo Yo Ma and incredible insight and depth to your playing as well.
I think the recording quality is letting you down. I did 2 hours practice on that Piatti #3 myself after having heard you. (at a somewhat slower tempo...)

the cello is, to me, the sadest, creepiest, and/or moving instrument out of all four. I feel moved when i play it, this was beautiful playing.

As a young cellist (8th grade) it really encourages me to practice a little harder so one day I can be that good

Mesmerizing. The contrast between leisurely audience and your dedication.
