I'm sure that covering old DP/Rainbow songs at their concerts is just fun; and Richie has the right to cover his own songs. He is a "Guitar God" and deserves the utmost respect from everyone.
You gotta check out "She's Mine" recorded in 1965 by the Liverpool Five. The riffs are virtually the same, the vocals different but well worth checking out on Yu Tube.Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery I guess.

Joe Osbourne, Rick Nelson's bassist showed it to the LP5 during a tour of the UK in the early Sixties.,,then he put it into Rick's "Summertime" after he heard it on 'She's Mine"....one of the earliest examples of Brit garage.Ritchie was still a young pup then. Go listen for yourself.

that is one tough song to pull off, i think it was an experiment into a totally different genre. umm, kinda like fleetwood mac and tusk. the energy seems to be lacking, my guess it was new piece. sometimes a band gets tired and this might have caught up with them. overall though it was cool to involve the audience. still having fun and that is what in the end counts. my hat is off to them. and wow, she is a beauty. hey remember when 'gay' meant happy it still does. give them a break.

I was in Blackmore's Night concert in this spring and actually was a bit disappointed them playing this song and few other Purple. I mean I think he doesn't have to do that anymore but of course he has every right to do so. But imo Blackmore did the right thing by leaving the Purple behind and trying something else. It would be dishonest to stay in band just for the safety if the relations in the band are not in the right shape.

Candice is best at Blackmore' Night songs shes not a rock singer she is a little out of her depth on the old Purple and Rainbow stuff but on their own songs shes a brilliant vocalist and on live gigs she has the crowd eating out of her hand and she's a great foil to Rithcie.

Candice's voice is a bit strange especially for this song but lets not forget that this is Renaissance music id prefer her and Ritchie playing over some court jester with a Lute. They definetely should perform more in the U.S. because id like to see them live (mostly before of Ritchie) lol I dont really mind seeing Ritchie doing this music because hes happy doing it and a true fan wont care what their favorite artists are up to these days. Whatever helps you sleep at night Ritchie!

no offence or anything, but honestly, i don't like candace's voice for this song, i believe that gillan's voice was perfect for this song... candace has a nice voice, but it seems like the singing in the song is too forced like one of those girly girl singers from this century...

that is one tough song to pull off, i think it was an experiment into a totally different genre. umm, kinda like fleetwood mac and tusk. the energy seems to be lacking, my guess it was new piece. sometimes a band gets tired and this might have caught up with them. overall though it was cool to involve the audience. still having fun and that is what in the end counts. my hat is off to them. and wow, she is a beauty. hey remember when 'gay' meant happy it still does. give them a break.

Oh come on - Candice is a so much better singer/musician than Yoko who could just scream or so. I can´t understand the critics about Blackmore´s night. He didn´t want to go on with Purple and now does something different. Why not?

I was in Blackmore's Night concert in this spring and actually was a bit disappointed them playing this song and few other Purple. I mean I think he doesn't have to do that anymore but of course he has every right to do so. But imo Blackmore did the right thing by leaving the Purple behind and trying something else. It would be dishonest to stay in band just for the safety if the relations in the band are not in the right shape.

Candice is best at Blackmore' Night songs shes not a rock singer she is a little out of her depth on the old Purple and Rainbow stuff but on their own songs shes a brilliant vocalist and on live gigs she has the crowd eating out of her hand and she's a great foil to Rithcie.
