The big 6 is going back to Michigan, and from what Ive heard its going to a group that will restore it and run it. Its just to big a project for pine creek and too much of a monster for its tracks.
2-6-2 #26 is not going back to Michigan, the 2-8-0 "Big 6" is, the Quincy and Torch Lake engine from Michigan. 26 is still under "negotiations" for ownership.
It is coming soon. They tell me that it will be up next summer. Come to our Holiday show at InfoAge in December and you can see steam running on the N scale Pine Creek RR.
The steam engine that is being prepared for service has never been on the Pine Creek before. It is a 2-6-0 Mogul #46 with a Porter boiler. The #26 is going back to Michigan because it is too heavy for the track and the Shay needs a new boiler.
