Great song, great album, if you want to see who wrote Crystal's songs on her new album just look up "Farmer's Daughter" on Wikipedia and it has a list. It looks like all of them but, 2 songs "Hold On" and "For What's it Worth" were written by Crystal. I love Crystal's style and think she is amazing!

Crystal is an amazing songwriter (incredible vocalist too!) and has been writing incredible songs since a really early age; got over a million hits on Youtube for her own song as as a young teen. Well ... her producers can obviously write better hits than she can. Granted , this song is awful. She has talent but this is isnt it. Atleast Farmers Daughter is her own, yet doesnt quite hit the mark of billboard chart status. Shell be know for this and the rest will be another track 10. @spoogydadown All that was said about Lee turned out to be truer than ever; he has the lowest selling week for his CD of any winner or even runnerup in AI history! I heard the entire CD and it is truly terrible! Also, this is already his third CD with two failed CD's pre Idol and this latest one shoud be called Slumberland2 because it is so dull it could work as a sleeping pill! Crystal was robbed of the title by tweens dialing 2000 times apiece 4 hours,,speedialing can't save him anymore!!!!

@spoogydadown Dilana is super hot; I really think she marketed herself badly because directly after Supernova she shoud have soared; instead no CD from her for ages after it! Also, I really love her but she is really seriously hard rock so just for a narrower group than Crystal. Crystal is so gifted and not only sings beautifully but writes incredibly beautiful songs. She appeals to all ages from my mother to my seven year old daughter. Her songlist is killer and she is going to be HUGE!!

I'm not a Taylor Swift fan but she's selling millions and I wanted to check out her music..she did You Belong With Me and I could not believe it..just like Kara's song Hold On in the sense it has the busy overbearing background noise in the chorus; I actually think Crystal could turn Hold On into a hit definitely! Of course Crystal's originals are better and HUGE HITS but even this weakest song on her CD could make it high on the crharts! CRYSTAL ROCKS!!!!!

this sounds like it could be a Sugarland tune. Crystal sounds a lot like Jennifer Nettles on this track.

I actually do like this song; I just think the chorus is too busy and drowns out Crystal's always amazing vocals; hopefully in the final mix they will realize this and tone down the chorus, make it less noisy and more poignant. It is a pretty song and Crystal can make a hit out of anything!

I have 2 children, a girl 7 and a boy 13 and when we drive I ONLY put on my CD's..I am really into Kid Rock; Loved Rock and Roll Jesus and his new one, Born Free a bit tamer but hot; his vocals are rich and enticing! The only female I love as much as Crystal is Dilana who was burned on Supernova and totally hot, underrated performer! I like good music. Typically buy cd's, listen to Pandora at home and in car, listen to Youtube of CB in car and home, and then my daughters i-pod. We hardly ever turn the radio on and typically the best music is not on the radio. I have never heard a Ray LaMontague or Mike Franti tune on the radio. Other than a local male dominated rock channel (Linkin Park, 3 Doors Down, Theory of Dead Man, etc.) and then an oldies rock channel - I never listen to the radio. I like the Red Hots, U2, and CB

Lit - everyone in my life knows I am a Bowersox nut and a nut case for her music. I do not need lectured on how great she or her music is - I am there with you. But, I am not with this tune and lord knows I have tried. Not near the quality of ANY of her originals in tempo, delivery, switchup, arrangement, or in getting to that Bowersox defining moment - it is not in this song. this song does not begin to highlight her greatness.

Lit - I listen to all of CB's originals and I am a dedicated fan. I have never heard her have a bad song - ever. But, this is not up to her standards. I loved what she did with What Its Worth in the Vineyard and she is an Elvis type talent. Forget all this non-sense aboyt labels and radio. I checked the top albums and Jive only had one in the top 40 (@38). The 2 biggest albums are by "Big Machine" label of Taylor Swift and some other by Emienem unknown. Never listen to radio now.

The acoustic start to the song is OK and the busy chorus from 1-1:30 is even acceptable. I finally picked up the lyrics "shoe box of broken dreams..." from 1:30-1:48, but after 40-50 listens I still do not know what is sang from 1:40-1:56. Then, from 2:20-2:35 there appears to be a golden opportunity for CB to put her signature rocking out grawl in the song, but I do not hear it or the typical Bowersox moment that clearly puts her signature on the song. Then, the song winds down OK.

Kid Rock's breakthrough CD Rock and Roll Jesus led to his next Born Free which is also incredible; the dude has a rich voice, so inticing! The only other person I love as much as Crystal is Dilana; upset on Supernova because of Tommy Lee's ego! Allsion used her song on her CD.

This song is a very complex mix of fast and slow lyrics that are confusing and hard to listen to, in a song that suppose to generate old feelings. The listener has to make a great deal of investment in just listening to the song and then is left asking "now, what was that about?" The switchups do not seem to support the subject matter. there is no room for the artist to put any soul in this very busy arrangement of a song about old feelings (except the word "leave," which drags out a bit.

I don't think Allison's cd is very good, so many of the songs had silly lyrics, just disappointing. Crystal is the absolute best from Idol next Carrie Underwood..other greats Fantastia Jennifer Hudson Chris Daltry, Adam Lambert (not necessarily in this order)..secret fan of Jessica Sierra! I know Kelly is good but not a fan of hers. Allison's CD just okay.

That being said though this is the weakest song on Crystal's incredible song list and even so, it will be a hit for Crystal..it's catchy and radio friendly. I think it needs some tweaking; the chorus drowns out Crystal's awesome vocals on this version. This is the worst songwriting and the only average songwriting on Crystal's whole CD but by Kara not Crystal!!

This is ok...but the chorus sounds way toooooo crowded for me. I honestly don't believe this is the final mix of this song, but if it is, I'm quite disappointed. I could have mixed a better end result than this and I'm not even in the profession. I liked Allsion and even bet my bro she'd win the whole thing however Alsion is NO CRYSTAL! Crystal is WAY BETTER than her and Allison's CD while certainly way better than Lee's had a ton of silly lyrics in most of the songs..just kind of lame and disappointing. This is Kara's song btw.
