  • Debess kalēji!

  • broliukai :*

  • That guy has a very good voice.

  • Very nice music. Balto-Slavs have best folklore.

  • This band is incredible. They are able to give me the peace in this so degenerated world. All hails from northern France.

  • What is that instrument the second from left? I'm Lithuanian, and i've never seen something like that. Is that some sort of cello?

  • @Darmorgaut

looks like epic version of chello! heya braljukas!

  • @Darmorgaut It's the Gīga :)

  • What an awesome acoustic preformens!!

  • Genial!!! Saludos! From Chile!

  • Do you have anymore recording from this? This is really good.

  • boas saudações a vocês caros irmãos.

  • SKYFORGER ir lielākā latviešu "rokgrupa"! Atšķirībā no daudziem citiem ...

Nevis kaut kadi "zidi"....Mums jalepojas arb to-!

Atvainojos, laptjikam garumziimes pazuda.

  • I love this song! GO LATVIA

  • BRALIUKAI LATVIAI:)

  • Excellent song! Saw them a few years back with a traditional acoustic set in Antwerp. More European bands should cherish their roots like Skyforger does.

  • Crap. I never knew they would have been in finland. And shiiit, i live in Turku xD

  • @lahomiesi As far as I know, they are going to visit Finnalnd in this year's October together with Metsatoll :-)

  • @Heavenfold1 ....IF you live in Latvia some RESPECT fucking OCCUPANTS-!!! Hail Pagan LATVIA-!!! HAIL PERKONS=!!!HAIL SKYFORGER-!!!

  • Thanks for uploading this, Nordri. This great band isn't at all as well known in western countries as it deserves to be.

  • all gays

  • Megla, Rosa? These words are Wendic/Vandalic

  • Pa skaisto! :)

    Hello From LATVIA!

  • Comment removed

  • tavs līders ir Kangarovichs.

  • im not interesting in teory, but when i study langueges and history, then i can see diferent vision which is diferent from oficial goverments teory, you can study baltic langueges and russian and then you will see very close roots in russian languege with lithuanian, latvian, prussian tribes languges ha,and before sclavs in rRussian teritory there lived tribes very close to baltic tribes.

  • Great song! my fav from Skyforger! btw we in Croatia say Magla and rosa very similar :D

    Keep Folking!

  • I also like this song very much! Greetings from Serbia! BTW we Serbs the same as Croatians!

  • Wonderful pagan song from Latvia!!!

  • Latvians are balts and never will be slavs, slavic languege is mixed from latvian, lithuanian, prussian langueges and other baltic tribes which lived in Russian teritory, but now they are mixed in one nation russians, that is etnic cocteil, but latvians and lithuanians are absolutely pure baltic tribes and oldest indoeuropen nation in the world.

  • Yeag

    U tell him !!

  • @fredenfelds "slavic languege is mixed from latvian, lithuanian, prussian langueges and other baltic tribes which lived in Russian teritory" ? that's a stupidest linguistic theory that I ever heard. Slavic language formed NOT in Russian territory, it started in Ukraine territory and expended to north, west, south and east, from Balkans to Siberia.

  • @fredenfelds i know why you don´t like russians. but i´m also of slavic (serbian) blood and don´t undersand why you insulting all slavs :"slavic languege is mixed from latvian, lithuanian, prussian langueges and other baltic tribes..."

do you think the baltic people came directly from heaven?

  • @hiltibrandt I like russian languege and many russians are normal people, but look in our lagueges, then you will discover many interesting things about your languege.

  • @tetris136 yes. there are similarities. migla=magla etc.

but who can say: the slavs took those words from the baltics or otherwise, or it developed from the same proto-language?

  • Toporov said about russian languege words wich i said and when im lernig lithuanian laguege, then i can find a lot of roots in russian, latgalian ,latvian langueges and prussian, couronian words which are very similar to russian. Those words are thousands in our langueges not only magla.

  • @fredenfelds sorry but its political fiction that you said, latvians are balto slavic but they are some romes and scandinavic(some germanic, prussian and some percent from miscellanous vikings),but there is no any pure baltic or slavic country, all are mixed.

  • Of course you are right. evry nation is mixed with other nation, but latvians our lithuanians are absolutely diferent from scandinavian-germaic tribes ,many prussian descendants are living like germans, but they arent germans.Like may people said about theirself they are russians, but they are speaking only in russian languege. If you will look at our faces, then you will discover many diferences between germans, russians our other nations.

  • @fredenfelds wtf? kill yourself nazi

  • @moljar are you all right man ?Who are nazi? You are not normal man and you need a lot of calcium for your brain.

  • @tetris136 if you can read, the answer is in my comment

  • @fredenfelds arrogant and ignorant

  • Not only the best Latvian, but one of the best Folk metal bands in the world! :) There are too few folk metal bands that have enough pride to sing in their own language instead of English.

  • what instrument is the standing guy playing?

  • flute?

  • reed pipe

  • flute kind of instrument

  • Tik labi!

  • this is greatest latvian band!!! fuck latvian Brainstorm!!!!!!

  • What is the name on such a flute he plays on?

  • I think it's reed-pipe

  • This one is called "stabule"

  • Blokflauta

  • Great, I love this Skyforger folk songs !

  • Fantastic!

  • heils

  • a retard that does not know history hu ?

  • Is there a hope of seeing them in UK someday?

  • As a metal band maybe ?

  • They played at "Day of Darkness" in Ireland ( not UK ) a few years ago, it was great, they played a combined metal/trad set.

  • They've played London twice.

  • Holly shit!!And i've missed that?!

  • Nja, brīnišķīgi. Sēdēju pāris metru attālumā. + vakarā vietējā klubā viņi spēlēja smago programmu!

  • Absolutely amazing... and thanks for translation!!

Man baigi patīk.

  • It's so wonderful,

'shows what proud and wonderful culture of folk music Latvia have. You are great ambassador's of your country. I'm sure you make proud many Latvian people with this mission.

    Keep doing it!

    Regards from Lithuania :]

  • I am originally from Poland so it reminds me a little of Polish folk with a bit of Irish tune mixed in :-) The insruments look home made. Anybody here can tell me what it's about?

  • I don't know Lettish. But the band members told me something about that it's a history of a man that witnesses the wedding between the sun and the moon, I think. And something about a horse :p

    Wait, here's the lyrics:

    Oh fog, oh dew

Neither one was good for me

    The dew dampened my feet

The fog made me lose my steed

The fog lifted, the dew lifted

    I found my horse

    I found my horse

    At the Mēness's doorstep

  • So migla means fog and rasa dew? Similar to Polish mgła and rosa...

  • As far as I'm concerned, yep.

  • Yeah, these are the meanings, but dont get misled, otherwise Latvian is not similar to Polish

  • The Mēness took the daughter of Saule And invited me to a wedding How can I ride to a wedding On a horse without saddle? The Saule gave me a golden saddle The Mēness a silver bridle Now I can boldly ride Together with the sons of Dievs Crosswise grow the roots of trees Crosswise stars shine in the sky The sons of Dievs ride next to me Crosswise galloping our horses
  • Explanation:

Dievs supreme god, the creator of this world. Dievs is not just the father of the gods; he is the essence of them all. Every other deity is a different aspect of Dievs. He appears to people as an old man with long grey beard.

Saule she is goddess of the sun. She flies across the sky on her chariot. At night, she sails across the sea.

Mēness in Latvian mythology Mēness is the avatar of the moon and the patron of travelers and soldiers, also the god of night.

  • Thank you so much, friend!! Wonderful translation and beuatiful lyrics :-)

    Warm greetings from San Francisco.

  • No sign of metal, but i like this song.I'm Latvian, and this song remind me of home, and my ancestors...

  • wow, unplugged it's almost better than with electric guitars...

    =)

  • fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • it's latvian folk music, you fuckin' retard

  • It's OK. He's from Germany... ;-)

  • great performance, five stars indeed

  • I was there!!! And in the evening in the club, too, of course :)

  • i love it

    live folk metal

  • It looks like really a powerfull show, especially near the end! Wish I'd been there to see it, or even better, I wish I was playing the flutes instead of Peter :p

  • Nagyon szép!

  • jeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!

    ..vecci malacci!!!!!

  • Latviešu tautas spēks!!!!!

  • amazing wish i was there just to see them

  • And of course I meant "name" instead of "nime"...

  • To continue with questions regarding the instruments played, what is the nime of that whistle Peteris is playing? I adore the sound, and I want one for myself.

  • It's a giga, pronounced, Geega.

  • Forgot to mention, it's played like a bass.

  • Thanks for the reply. I like the sound of it, sort of like a bowed contrabass.

  • Nice! What instrument is it that Zirgs is playing? looks like some sort of bowed zither or something...
