All I ever see on these video comments is excuses excuses excuses for Conan and how the entertainment people have just been moving him around and around.
If he was as hot as all the conan fans think he is – he would be telling the networks what he wanted and where he wanted to go rather than the networks filling in their voids with his devoid nightly presentations. He can pull the strings on his nipples but not in the Network

@anyname666 Leno's show that he had at the 10 pm EST killed the NBC ratings altogether. Even the late local news ratings crashed and burned on NBC. What helped Leno, which was clearly not his talent (or lack of it) was great lead in programs from the 90s such as ER, Law & Order, etc. Conan never had great lead in programming so he could never build his audience in the way Leno did. While Conan had his Late Night following, he was basically starting over. I'm just glad Conan is back on TV :)

Leno is schmuck, and I can only wonder why people choose to be on his program., I guess any exposure is worth it.

its a conspiracy. NBC ended Lenos contract for the tonight show 7 months early! Since he was still under the contract, he still had to work for them therefore they gave him his own show on NBC at 10. After 7 months passed, they gave Conan an option probably knowing that he was going to leave. Why did they do it after 7 months? Because Jays contract was done with therefore they didnt want him to leave to another company. It all makes sense now..
Uh; then they would've let Conan leave when his other contract expired in 2004. They wouldn't have needed to give him the host of the Tonight Show; and Leno could've simply renewed his contract again.
uh noo... Conan's contract already ended.. therefore he was getting other lucrative offers from other networks. Jay Lenos had 7 months left in his contract. NBC had to do something because they didnt want other networks to steal away Conan so they gave him the tonight show instead because Conan asked for it. It was time to pass it on the way Johnny tried to pass it on to Letterman.
His lead-in of an audience was Jay Leno's show. People weren't watching his show, they were changing channels or shutting off the TV, so Conan lost alot of viewers at that point - if this is a fact of ratings, wouldn't this be jay's fault? considering he didn't pass on the viewers? In the end, I think to give only 7 months to Conan to establish himself on the Tonight Show...that's just not fair.
When primetime sucks that bad, how can Conan get a real chance? Leno's ratings sucked his first year, it takes a solid year to get established on a new show. Conan got...7 months? Jay should have walked away, and let Conan do his thing. Jay killed Primetime, yet he is rewarded with his old job? NBC and Jay Screw Conan. Very sad!

It's true that Conan just started but he not only lost out to Letterman , he didn't even get the ratings he got at his old time slot. And Jay Leno always beat Letterman in that time slot. And he will again.

But , Leno got good ratings even when NBC didn't have a good programing at 10pm. NBC put Leno on at 10pm to save money only. That's the real reason. And I knew it wouldn't work. I'm friends with someone who works for a local NBC affiliate here and they said the same thing. They knew it wouldn't work. The real test will be if Conan gets another show and gets good ratings. I'm betting he wont.
Jeez ... people got used to Leno but Conan didn't really get enough time for people to adjust to a new Tonight Show host, did he? The duration of mere 7 months is just not enough. I think NBC took a very short sighted view on the whole thing.
Conan won't be back on the air until September. That's the kiss of death being off the air that long. Letterman and Leno will be allowed to grow an audience and Conan will have to start over again.

BOTH shows looked like shit from day one ! Leno's set looked like a bowling alley and Conan's looked like the design team was on decorator crack. Leno in the chair...looked odd. I loved Johnny but times change so Jay was more contemporary to American culture but then ran his course also. This is a step backwards that will cost them big dollars when the dust settles.
I can't believe this shit, Conan is way better than Leno. I too used to stay up as many nights as I could to watch him on late night. I support his decision to leave the show if they put it past 11:35pm. Now we can watch them all crash and burn without taking Conan with them!
One thing to think about is our generation, the one that would be on youtube, is the one watching Conan and thinking he's hilarious. Leno appealed to the generation above us and aren't going to adapt to Conan's humor as easily. I love him and think he's a riot and used to stay up later to watch him and am glad he moved to an earlier time slot so I can get to sleep earlier.. lol

I mean come on what teen takes the time to do a viewer dairy ? It's true that Conan just started but he not only lost out to Letterman , he didn't even get the ratings he got at his old time slot. And Jay Leno always beat Letterman in that time slot. And he will again.

you hav a point but leno always had great lead-ins.... and conan now had horrbile lead-in with leno's exaggeratedly lame show... no wonder he had no chance... because all the viewers ran away as soon as they were watching leno's bad show... you gotta admit that show was horrid!!!
leno will miserably fail as late night show host again because i can imagine loads of people will boycott his show

But , Leno got good ratings even when NBC didn't have a good programing at 10pm. NBC put Leno on at 10pm to save money only. That's the real reason. And I knew it wouldn't work. I'm friends with someone who works for a local NBC affiliate here and they said the same thing. They knew it wouldn't work. The real test will be if Conan gets another show and gets good ratings. I'm betting he wont.

Jeez ... people got used to Leno but Conan didn't really get enough time for people to adjust to a new Tonight Show host, did he? The duration of mere 7 months is just not enough. I think NBC took a very short sighted view on the whole thing.

Conan won't be back on the air until September. That's the kiss of death being off the air that long. Letterman and Leno will be allowed to grow an audience and Conan will have to start over again.

@SprinterGTApex totaly agree with you Conan seemed to run away from the audience like a scared puppy barking behind a gate. He never ever made me feel like I knew him as a person, even a clown takes his makeup off after the show. He would invite guests then run them over with his childist antics. He was like the big hyper kid in school that never knew when the joke was over or when it was time to leave well enough alone. WE WILL MISS YOU CLOWN MAN MAYBE IT WAS THE HAIRS FAULT LOL

@jwharch: Well, technically they made a good business decision in letting go of Dave as Jay has had better ratings during most of his tenure on the tonight show. This is a case, however, where they are letting go of not only the more talented person, but the person who would have gotten them better ratings over the long run.

BOTH shows looked like shit from day one ! Leno's set looked like a bowling alley and Conan's looked like the design team was on decorator crack. Leno in the chair...looked odd. Conan's new camera angles for him were like a fish out of water. Max on the right? shouda stayed left. All kinds of mistakes from the geniuses.

I don't think nbc deserves conan and predicted he would end up leaving and looks like it's almost done, 30 million buyout, hope he and the max weinberg 7 get a good show to be on fox to rival both leno and letterman. I am trying to the tonight show where there was a 3 sign, nerd for max, super nerd for andy and sad on conan, that was so funny, was on not that long ago but didn't have much luck finding it

I loved Johnny but times change so Jay was more contemporary to American culture but then ran his course also. This is a step backwards that will cost them big dollars when the dust settles.

I can't believe this shit, Conan is way better than Leno. I too used to stay up as many nights as I could to watch him on late night. I support his decision to leave the show if they put it past 11:35pm. Now we can watch them all crash and burn without taking Conan with them!

One thing to think about is our generation, the one that would be on youtube, is the one watching Conan and thinking he's hilarious. Leno appealed to the generation above us and aren't going to adapt to Conan's humor as easily. I love him and think he's a riot and used to stay up later to watch him and am glad he moved to an earlier time slot so I can get to sleep earlier.. lol

Jay is kind of ruining it for Conan. Dave is kicking their ass in ratings, DAVID LETTERMAN!! thats just not right, david letterman isn't even funny. the few times i watched his show i just got a slight chuckle. Cone Bone is the only one that makes me bust out laughing. Jay is funnier than Dave, but none of them hold a candle to CONAN!!

@longie88 The viewer ratings system is flawed. It uses Set Meters connected in selected homes that I have never seen. And Viewer "diaries", which is nothing but old people that already write letters. I mean come on what teen takes the time to do a viewer dairy ? And if you look at leno and letterman fans, a lot of them are old people that dont like Conan because of stupid stuff like his jokes are too dirty. And just look at all of Conans views on you tube.

@misfitsg17 I agree! I feel like both O'Brien and Fallon are getting ripped off because let's face it Leno already had his career. I never thought he was that funny to begin with as I always stayed up later to watch Conan. Also not only that but Leno is dragging everyone's ratings down with Conan receiving an all time low and now the NBC execs are doing this rearrangement with time slots? Just cancel Leno for crying out loud! I mean Letterman reruns are beating out Conan now thanks to this.

Letteman actually beat Conan after the initial few weeks of the show, but if this continues is yet to see.
Leno should have stayed for at least 2 more years, NBC screwed things and they realize that!

The worst decision in TV History. Dumb, dumb, dumb Idea! What the Hell were they thinking! Take the number one guy at Late Night, put him on Prime Time to get killed. Then have the number 4 guy in Late Night host the number one Late Night Show.
Anyone involved with that decision should be fired! Why did Conan agree to this, his career is over, which is sad I like him.
Unfortunately, they are going to can his ass and probably replace him with that lame bit stealing ass Jay Leno!
