  • your getting algae from the bio balls. because the fish poop ( amonia) gets eaten by the bateria in bio balls, and it turns into nitrates, nitrates r bad for salt water tanks

  • Enjoy your videos. Ive had freshwater for years and am thinking about converting to a saltwater tank. Is it alot more work than fresh? Is it worth it? The saltwater fish are so much more colorful:)

  • I feel you, It's a labor of love for all us fish people. Just wanted to say great videos thanks for posting them, and you have a great sense of humor. :-)

  • Thanks, I appreciate that.

  • did u end up taking out your fluval filter?

what media did you use in it while you still had you sump-refugium going

  • Yes, I use it on the fresh water tank now.

  • Nice tank dude which Pro-

Clear is that and what size is your tank.

  • Thanks, its a 75 gallon tank.

  • i have the exact equipment you have could not get skimmer into my sump help

  • Yeah it is hard to get that thing on. Just hang it off the back, that will work. Or if not twick it alittle till it does. Good luck.

  • Oh, by the way I don't have it yet. Just ordered it last night and its on the way now.

  • No sweat. I have no problems with my skimmer, so Im sure you'll be alright with it. Good Luck!

  • Hey ZZMann33 Ive got the Coralife Super Skimmer for up to 65g HOB and just wanted to know if you have had any problems with yours. Ive heard a couple reviews that it overflows *cross fingers* which I hope it doesnt and it is also suppose to be noisy. Throw some feedback my way. I'd really appreciate it.

  • mine hasn't. i dont know if there is something i am not doing when i turn it on or what

  • how long did it take for your protein skimmer to start producing bubbles

  • right away. Why?

  • RO filters are cheap on Ebay, planning on getting one there.

  • nice, i'm suprised you went without a skimmer for so long, might have been while you have lost so much stuff, i think you and me started about the same time, and i only lost a damselfish (no corals or any other fish ater 4 months). Anyway, i use a Instant Ocean skimmer that was hang-on back/sump. Its much smaller, but taller, you might want to take a look at it, if you can get yours to work the way you want it. Wish i had a vid camera to show you, anyway, nice tank, looks good

  • i was thinking the skimmer pump needs to be submerged in more water. i had a v2 skimmer which is eaxtly the same design.

  • Na, I think its fine. But thanks.

  • how often do you empty the cup?

  • Once a week. That is what the instruction manual suggest. I did it for the first time today. Boy! did that thing stink.

  • if it was brown and smelly then it sure doing its job.

    happy reefing

  • It sure was. I got alittle on the rug. I quick sprayed it with woollight and cleaned it up! I wont spill that nasty crap again. It reeked.

  • tell me about it! i had to set up my new aqurium when my mum was away on holiday because she hated the smells from my previous one. i have had it running for 3 weeks now, so far so good

  • is that the pipe organ coral in the front center? if it is it is looking great.

  • Yes it is. It took awhile before it total extended its tenticals, but now its awesome looking. Thanks!

  • Hey do you have that aiptasia still i found out a about an aditive that kills them its called (JOES JUICE) it get rid of aiptasia and majano anemones Quick but i would read the instructions before i use it if I were you bcuz it probably has an effect on invertebrates 2 any way cool video ur tank looks nice as always .

  • That thing died off awhile ago. I got shrimp to take care of it.

  • tank looks great!!

  • Thank you, I appreciate it.

  • Thank you, I try to keep up with it as best as I can.

  • make sure u turn it off while toppin off it is very sensitive to water change levels... and turn the adjuster like banana said

  • Can you send a email explaining in more detail. I appreciate it thanks.

  • Nice tank, I'm looking to setup a 50 gallon, but remember to watch those trace elements, because the skimmer may just 'skim' some out.

  • Cool video. You have to turn the adjuster next to the collection cup in oder for the water to bubble up and skim into the cup - if you havent already done so...

  • nice skimmer!

  • nice work n effert man 5/5
